Lovena Norton, 71, passed away August 6, 2012 in Tulsa after battling a
lengthy illness. Lovena was born to Moley and Sarah Earp on October 3, 1940
in Shidler, Oklahoma. Lovena grew up in Shidler and graduated from Shidler
High School. Lovena Earp met Jimmy Norton and they were married on December
18, 1960 and moved to Sapulpa where they made their family home. Lovena and
Jimmy have been together ever since until Jimmy went to be with the Lord in
2009. After working as a nurse for some time, Lovena became a full time stay
at home mom raising her four children. Lovena loved her God, her husband,
her children and her Church Midway Full Gospel in Oakhurst where she was a
faithful member. Lovena loved to research genealogy for anyone that would
ask, bake and decorate cakes, work in her flower garden, and crochet for
everyone she knew. Lovena loved spending time with her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren and family gatherings.
Lovena is preceded in death by her sister Mary Earp Horinek; her parents
Moley and Sarah LaRue Earp; her husband Jimmy Norton; and a grandson Cody
Cosby. Lovena is survived by her son Nathanael Norton and his wife Deanna of
Sapulpa. Daughters; Angelia Stringfellow and husband Stephen of McAlester,
Laura Cosby of Sapulpa, Regina Norton of the home where she faithfully cared
for both her father and mother till they passed. 8 grandchildren, 7
great-grandchildren. One sister Esther Hall and her husband Roy of Alabama.
Two brothers; David Earp of Salina, Ok., and Johnathan Earp and wife Connie
of Missouri.
Buried in Green Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Sapulpa, Creek County, OK
