Mrs. E. BLACKWELL Dies at age of 73...Mrs. E. Blackwell,
73-year-old mother of three sons and a daughter in Miami and another
daughter south of Grove, died Friday night at the home of Mrs. D.L.
Addington, the daughter living 20 miles south of Grove. Mrs. Blackwell
has lived here for the last 15 years, but had gone to spend a
week with Mrs. Addington when she died. Funeral Services will be
held at 2 0'clock Sunday afternoon at the Holiness Church on South Main
Street by the Reverend Gaines. Mrs. Blackwell is survived by Sam
Blackwell, W.E. Blackwell and H.G. Blackwell all of Miami, her sons,
and two daughters, Mrs. Lula DeArmand of Miami and Mrs. Addington of
Delaware County. Burial will be in the G.A.R. Cemetery under
direction of Cooper Undertaking Company. The pallbearers will be L.
Phillips, W. Baker, S. Given, H. Baulch, Mart Spahn and Collins. The
body will be in state at home of S.M. Blackwell 10 street southeast,
from 10 o'clock Sunday morning until time for funeral.
(Rebecca Jane Newberry Blackwell was
born 7 Feb 1857 in Jasper Co, MO; the dau of Samuel Newberry and
Frances Capehart. She married Elbert Blackwell in Maries Co, MO 16
March 1878 by J. H. Bull JP).
