During the period of 1901 to 1907, Marriage License cost $2.50 and the Marriage Ceremony cost an extra $2.50, to which the grooms paid $5.00 total. The sad part about the Groom’s Marriage records is that it doesn’t show the bride’s name, only the grooms. Still yet, I am excited to find the Marriage Licenses because they show the dates for when they applied, and it shows few Ceremonies where they were married at the courthouse and shows that they were here during the Indian Territory time. There is one groom who applied for a divorce decree. The handwriting is not easy to decipher, to which I put a “?” beside it.
If you would like a copy of the Marriage License, I ask for donations to pay for Copies, Postage and Gas Expense. Contact me for prices. When emailing, write on the subject “Pushmataha Marriages”.
