Information Submitted by "Mike" Walter M. Merryman
"My great grandfather, William Icem Merryman, had several pieces of land around Albion in the early 1900's. He donated land to Albion for a city park probably some time around the 1920's. He later moved to Vandervoort, Arkansas and died there in 1931. " "My grandfather, "Joe" Joesph Edward Merryman, married Mattie Bray in Albion about 1912." "My father, "Joe Buck" Joie William Merryman, was born about 3/4 mile east of Albion, OK in 1918 and died in 2002 at Choctaw, OK. "My great uncle, Charlie Merryman, died about 1918 and is buried in the old Albion cemetery even though he is not on listed. He is buried about the second spot from the west gate where some one else is buried; probably on top of him since they didn't mark graves to well back then. |
