August 27, 1918 Kiowa School and White Shield were consolidated by a vote of the people. In the spring of 1922 the Consolidated No. 2 dissolved and went to a Union Graded School No. 5. By 1940 the Kiowa school went from a two teacher school to a one teacher school. In the spring of 1947 the Kiowa School closed and the district transferred to Hammon and Herring.
