In the fall of 1906 the building built by donation labor was ready for school and Kate Martin was the teacher. The long way of the one room building was east and west with ample windows for light and cooling when needed, with the two doors in the east end. The teachers desk was in the west end of the building on a stage or rostrum with benches across the room in front of the desk. Each class was called up to sit on these benches to recite their lessons. Schools ran for six months.
