April 4, 1985

Services for Junior MAYABB, 59, of Sallisaw were held Tuesday, April 2, at 2 p.m. in the Wheeler Chapel with the Rev. Mark Hall officiating. Burial followed in the Brent Cemetery under the direction of the Wheeler Funeral Home. Mr. MAYABB died Saturday, March 30, 1985, at Muskogee Veterans Hospital. He was born Sept. 20, 1925 to John L. MAYABB and Annie CANTABERY MAYABB in Idabel. Survivors include the wife, Dolores, of the home; two daughters, Deane and Janet; three sons, Shane, Michael and Paul; one brother, Herman; and five granddaughters.

Services for Gerald Earl PATTERSON of Muldrow were held Saturday, March 30, at 2 p.m. at the Muldrow First Assembly of God Church. The Rev. David Rhoads and the Rev. Charles Higgs officiated at the services which were followed by burial in the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Muldrow. Burial was under the direction of the Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mr. PATTERSON died Thursday, March 28, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith, Ark., at the age of 66. He was born Feb. 24, 1919, to Elmer PATTERSON and Clara OWENS PATTERSON in Sargent, Neb. He married Fannie WHITE Nov. 9, 1957, in Greenwood, Ark. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Carol and Louise; two sons, John Sr., and Jim; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Burton.

Services for Reba Kay RELEFORD, 28, of Roland will be held Saturday, April 26, at 2 p.m. in the Shady Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Melvin Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Centerpoint Cemetery under the direction of the Wheeler Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Miss RELEFORD was born to Ocie RELEFORD and Emma WALLACE RELEFORD on Feb. 25, 1957, in Muldrow. She died following a traffic accident in Roland on Monday, April 1. Survivors include the parents, Ocie and Emma; one daughter, Lakesha; two sons, Roderick and Ronnie; two sisters, Maxine and Barbara; and seven brothers, Ocie Lee, Charles, James, Sammy Lee, Michael, Willis and Roy Gene.

Services for Mrs. Ethel Mae INGLE, 86, of Gore were held Friday, April 5, at 2 p.m. in the Gore First Baptist Church with the Rev. Calvin Carlile and the Rev. Laymon Garrison officiating. Burial followed in the Gore City Cemetery under the direction of the the Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. INGLE was born to George REED and Minnie Bell CARTER REED on July 16, 1898, in Fowler, Ark. She died Wednesday, April 3, 1985, in Sallisaw. Survivors include four sons, Paul, Thomas, Mike and Ronnie; four daughters, Virgie, Geneva, Madeline and Sue; 37 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Gerald William TAYLOR, 23, of Vian will be held Monday, April 8, at 2 p.m. in the Box Cemetery with the Rev. Nelson Galloway officiating. Burial will be under the direction of the Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mr. TAYLOR died Thursday, April 4, as the result of a traffic accident near Carney. He was born Aug. 2, 1961, to Robert Howard TAYLOR III and Carol June DARLING TAYLOR in Chicago, Ill. Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer; one son, Gerald; the mother and step-father, Carol and Edward; two brothers, Robert Howard IV and John James; four sisters, Elizabeth Jane, Ruth, Karen Lea, and Patricia June; the maternal grandmother, Ruth; the paternal grandmother, Maxine;and the paternal step-grandmother, Anna.

April 11, 1985

Services for Joshua Raymond BLAKE, age 1, were held Wednesday April 10, at 2 p.m. in the Mineral Springs Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. M.C. Parrish officiating. Burial followed in the Blackjack Cemetery under the direction of the Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. The child was born April 13, 1983, in Fort Smith, Ark., and died in Fort Smith on Saturday, April 8, 1985. Survivors include the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Shawn BLAKE of the home; the maternal grandparents, Mr and Mrs. Bobby PLANK; the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde BLAKE; the paternal maternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Lucy MASSEY; and the paternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond MIDDLETON and the Rev. and Mrs. Jack NOEL.

Graveside services for Clarence Lee FERGUSON of Roland were held Monday, April 8, at 2 p.m. in the Roland City Cemetery with the Rev. Raymond Howard officiating. Burial was under the direction of the Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mr. FERGUSON was born to Benjamin Larkin FERGUSON and Nettie Isabelle WIMBERLY FERGUSON on Oct 17, 1907, in Booneville, Ark. He died Wednesday, April 3, 1985, in Fort Smith, Ark., at the age of 77. He married Wincie Mae SHEPPARD Sept. 22, 1928 in Van Buren, Ark. She preceded her husband in death. Survivors include two sons, L.C., and Jerry; two sisters, Mary Jane and Marie; one half-sister, Margie; the step-mother, Goldie; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services for Earl Leonard HARP, of Muskogee was conducted Saturday, April 6, at 11 a.m. in the Bradley Funeral Service Chapel in Muskogee with the Rev. Patrick Gaalaas officiating. Mr. HARP died Thursday, April 4, 1985. Born in Branch, Ark., on Aug. 3, 1897, Mr. HARP was the son of Victoria and Robert HARP. He married Wilma BURTON Feb. 4, 1923, in Branch. Survivors include his wife, Wilma, of the home; one daughter, Naomi; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Karl R. HODGE, 70, of Vian were held Wednesday, April 10, at 2 p.m. in the Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Mr. HODGE died Saturday, April 6, at his home. He was born to Henry L. HODGE and Jennie Sarah CLARK HODGE on April 18, 1914, in Chanute, Kan. He married Carmine BOYD Dec. 23, 1963, in Chickasha. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Gordon Karl and David Lee; one granddaughter; and two sisters, Juanita and Bertha. Burial was under the direction of the Agent Funeral Home.

Graveside services for Clarence E. VICTORY, 83, of Sallisaw are being held Thursday, April 11, at 10 a.m. in the McCoy Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Ray Jackson officiating. Mr. VICTORY died Monday, April 8, 1985, in Sallisaw. He was born Oct. 31, 1901, to Elijah Lemual VICTORY and Martha Creola SHEPHERD VICTORY in Sebastian County, Ark. He married Ella Josephine LEONARD in Sallisaw. She preceded him in death. Survivors include one daughter, Oleta; and five grandchildren. Burial was under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.

April 18, 1985

Services for Mary R. BLACKBIRD, 73, of Marble City were held Tuesday, April 16, at 2 p.m. in the Marble City First Baptist Church with the Rev. Monroe Reid officiating. Burial followed in the Evening Shade Cemetery under the direction of the Wheeler Funeral home in Sallisaw. Mrs. BLACKBIRD was born to Robert LINCOLN and Bertha A. STUDY LINCOLN on Dec. 1, 1911. She died at W.W. Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah on Saturday, April 13, 1985. Survivors include three sons, William, Dick and J.C.

Graveside services for Kelly Gene McGEHEE, 18, of Crosby, Texas, were held Tuesday, April 16, at 10:30 a.m. at Sallisaw City Cemetery with Bro. Ira C. Brackett officiating. Burial was under the direction of the Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mr. McGEHEE was born to Tommy Joe McGEHEE and Sandra Sharon SAVAGE McGEHEE on Jan. 28,1 967, in Sallisaw. He died Monday, April 8, in Houston, Texas. Survivors include the father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Joe McGEHEE; the mother Sandra GRUBBS; one sister, Joelena; one half-brother, Bobby; three step-brothers, Herbie, Bobby, and Tracey; two step-sisters, Candy and Stacy; the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs Gay McGEHEE; the maternal grandfather, Bill SAVAGE; the paternal great-grandmother, Walsie McCLENDON; and the step-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob DAVISON and Edna BOGART.

Services for Marion Frank MOSS, 74, of Wagoner were held at 2 p.m., Monday, April 8, in Hersman Chapel in Wagoner. Burial was in the Pioneer Cemetery, east of Wagoner. Mr. MOSS died Friday, April 5, 1985, in a Muskogee hospital after a long illness. Survivors include his wife, Opal of the home; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth and Rosalie; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; the step-mother, Mrs. Emma PETERS; one brother, King S. "Pete"; and two sisters, Mildred and Clara.

Services for Nelson Ray BUSH, 28, of Marble City are being held Saturday, April 20, at 10 a.m. at the Stoke Smith Stomp Grounds, northwest of Sallisaw, with the Rev. William Smith officiating. Burial is in Bush Cemetery, near Marble City, under the direction of the Agent Funeral Home. Mr. BUSH died Tuesday, April 16, northwest of Sallisaw He was born May 25, 1956, in Tahlequah to Tom BUSH and Margaret BULLET BUSH. He married Charlotte WEBBER July 2, 1982, in Marble City. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Brandon and Nelson Ray Jr.; one daughter, Shannon; the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom BUSH; four brother, Don Lee, Jerry, Jackie and William; and one sister, Phyllis Ann.

Services for Beatrice A. CALLICOATT of Cowlington were held Friday, April 19, at 2 p.m. in the Cowlington First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Campbell officiating. Mrs. CALLICOATT died Tuesday, April16, 1985, in Tulsa at the age of 77. She was born to James KING and Daisy Ann PENDLETON KING on Sept. 7, 1907, in the Tucker community, Leflore District, Indian Territory. She married James KING in 1929 in Cowlington. He preceded her in death. Survivors include one daughter, Doris; two sons, Windel and Clarence; two brothers, John and C.B.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Burial was in the Cowlington Cemetery under the direction of the Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.

Services for Mylicia Symantha NUTT, 72, of Sallisaw were held Friday, April 19, at 2 p.m. in the Gore Elementery School with the Rev. Alonzo Smith officiating. Burial was in the Greenleaf Cemetery, under the direction of Wheeler Funeral home in Sallisaw. Mrs. NUTT was born to William Thomas MASON and Rebecca Adra JONES MASON on Aug. 13, 1912, in Oklahoma and died Wednesday, April 17, 1985, in a Muskogee hospital. Survivors include the husband, Ebirt of the home; three daughters, Ruby, Nola and Jincy; two sons, Jack and Sammy; one brother, Odney; four sisters, Vinnie, Fannie, Rosie and Emily; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren. Mrs. NUTT was preceded in death by a daughter, Cenoria Nell MORRIS, and a granddaughter, Dorothy MORRIS on Feb. 15, 1966.

Services for Mrs. Lillian Laura PARSONS, 86, of Sallisaw are being held Saturday, April 20, at 2 p.m. in the Agent Chapel with the Rev. Alton Matlock officiating. Burial is in the Fleetwood Cemetery, east of Sallisaw, under the direction of the Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. PARSONS died in Fort Smith, Ark., on Thursday, April 18, 1985. She was born Jan. 24, 1899, to Brice RANDOLPH and Ada GLENN RANDOLPH in the Hanson community, Sequoyah District, Indian Territory. Survivors include three sons, William B., Clyde Jr., and Doug; one daughter, Maudene; one sister, Elsie; two brothers, John and B.C.; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Services for Minnie Mae PATTON, 73, of Claremore are being held Saturday, April 20, at 11 a.m. at the Muldrow Methodist Church. Burial follows in Memory Garden Cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of the Rice-Winton Funeral Home in Claremore. Mrs. PATTON died Wednesday, April 17, in Claremore Regional Medical Center. She was born Oct. 18, 1911, in Muldrow to Ivey GREEN and Nora SMITH GREEN. Survivors include the husband, Joe, of the home; one son, Dick; one daughter, Susan; four brothers, Winfred, Fred, Stanley and Bobby; two sisters, Audrey and Doris; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services for Denver Leon PICKETT, 55, of Vian are being held Saturday, April 20, at 2 p.m. in the Garden of Memories Cemetery with the Rev. Calvin Carlile officiating. Mr. PICKETT died Wednesday, April 17, 1985, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was born Aug. 15, 1929, to William PICKETT and Ivey Lee PICKETT in Okemah. He married Betty Lou HOLLAND April 23, 1948, in Quartzsite, Ariz. She survives. Other survivors include six sons, Gene, Harvey, Kenny, James, Larry and Denny; four daughters, Alta, Sandra, Terry and Connie; the mother, Ivey Lee PICKETT; two brothers, J.C. and Eugene; two sisters, Kay and Wanda; and 15 grandchildren. Burial was under the direction of Agent Funeral Home.

Memorial services for James Lewis ERB, 64, of Vian were held Wednesday, April 24, at 10 a.m. at the Gore united Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Hill and the Rev. Clifton McCoy officiating. Mr. ERB died Monday, April 22, 1985, at Muskogee Veterans Hospital. He was born Dec. 31, 1920, to Lewis S. ERB and Alice PRATER ERB in Amarillo, Texas. He married Norma Jean WALTERS Oct. 28, 1939, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She survives. Other survivors include the mother, Alice ERB; three sons, Bobby, Jimmy and David; a sister, Ruby; a brother, Robert; and eight grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Wheeler Funeral Home in Sallisaw.

Services for Mrs. Nancy Ann FARGO, 95, of Muldrow were held Monday, April 22, at 2 p.m. in the Muldrow First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Ray Hood and the Rev. Charles Higgs officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Garden Cemetery under the direction of the Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. FARGO was born to Arch MILLSPAUGH and Nancy Jane CLARK MILLSPAUGH on Jan. 1, 1890, in Alma, Ark. She died in Fort Smith, Ark., on Saturday, April 20, 1985. She married William L. FARGO May 17, 1905, in Muldrow, Sequoyah District, Indian territory. He preceded her in death. Survivors include two daughters, Helen and Evelyn; two sons, Raymond and W.W.; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

William Harrison PRUITT, 95, of Vian died Wednesday, April 24, 1985, at the Vian Nursing Home. Services are scheduled for Friday, April 26, at 2 p.m. at the Blackgum Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Box Cemetery under the direction of the Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Born to James Thomas PRUITT and Mary COLLINS PRUITT on Oct. 20, 1889, in Newton County, Ark. Survivors include two sons, Jerry and J.T.; two daughters, Dorothy and Virgie; 24 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services for Fannie Estella RICHARDSON, 78, of Sallisaw were held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 26, at the Greater Bethel Baptist Church. Burial was in Sallisaw North Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home. Mrs. RICHARDSON was born to William KILPATRICK and Ada WEST KILPATRICK on March 23, 1907, in Sallisaw, Sequoyah District, Indian Territory. She died Monday, April 22, 1985, in Sallisaw. She married Ladell RICHARDSON in December 1925, in Sallisaw. He preceded her in death. Survivors include two sisters, Mary and Julia; and one aunt, Clara.
