Bruce A. BOBBITT, 58, of Roland passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was born on Sept. 9, 1954, in Tulsa, the son of Leon and Jo Carolyn BOBBITT. He married Linda Faye COLEMAN in October 1974, at Short Baptist Church in Short. He was a member of Roland Hills Baptist Church. Bruce loved baseball, football, movies, reading and above all spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a hard worker and a die-hard Sooner fan. Survivors are his wife, Linda BOBBITT of the home; mother, Jo Carolyn BOBBITT of Fort Smith; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Chris and Audra BOBBOTT of Fort Smith and Greg BOBBITT and Barry and Lacey BOBBITT, all of Roland; one brother, Brant BOBBITT of Parks, Ark.; two sisters, Brenna MYERS and Benita BOBBITT both of Fort Smith; five grandchildren, Natalie, Lilian, Karli, Warren and Cash BOBBITT; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his father, Leon BOBBITT; grandparents, H.C. and Pauline BLISS and Ida BOBBITT; and brother-in-law and best friend, Psalm COLEMAN. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Roland Hills Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Phelps officiating. Funeral services for Martha Lou CASADY, 89, of Webbers Falls were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, at Millsap Funeral Service Chapel in Webbers Falls with the Rev. Wendell Cox officiating under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls. Mrs. CASADY was born on Oct. 17, 1923, in Liberal, Kan., to Fredrick and Marjorie (SWAN) MALONE. She died on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, in Webbers Falls. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her children, David CASADY and wife, Mary of Webbers Falls and Pat VARY and husband, Bill and Mickey CASADY, all of Porum; one brother, Terry MALONE of Overland Park, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Oscar CASADY on March 3, 2007; and three brothers.

Funeral services for Regina Ruth STREBECK ELLIS, 77, of Catoosa, formerly of Sallisaw, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013, at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow. Burial was at Sallisaw City Cemetery. Mrs. ELLIS was born on Dec. 20, 1935, in Sallisaw to Tim STREBECK and Lillian (THOMPSON) STREBECK. She died on Monday, March 25, 2013, in Catoosa. She was a homemaker. She was a 1954 graduate of Sallisaw High School. Survivors include two daughters, Sharon MILLER of Florida and Gina ELLIS of Owasso; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Leland ELLIS; and two daughters, Laurie ELLIS and Mary Jo ELLIS.

Norma Jean HARL was born on Sept. 10, 1939, in Fort Smith, Ark., the daughter of Hosie Loften HENSON and Beatrice (METHENY) HENSON. She was married to Dempsey Duerane HARL in 1958, in Stilwell. Mrs. HARL was a seamstress and attended Way of the Cross Freewill Baptist Church. She passed this life on Thursday, March 28, 2013, in Vian at the age of 73. Survivors are her husband, Dempsey of the home; two daughters, Renee CRONE of Sallisaw and Lagail OSBURN of Fort Smith; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Charles and Mona HARL of Sallisaw and Hayden HARL of Fort Smith; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Shirley MATTINGLY, Betty COPELAND and Melba POINDEXTER, all of Sallisaw and Linda McAlLLISTER of Muldrow; and one brother, Jim HENSON of Oklahoma City. She was preceded in death by her son, James “Jay” HARL; one daughter, Tara HARL; her parents; and one brother, Herbert HENSON. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the Agent & Mallory-Martin Chapel in Sallisaw. Burial followed at Akins Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Clydah Ruth “Ditty” McNEIL, Ditty was born on July 5, 1951, in Chama N.M. On Nov. 15, 2012, the Lord and her father Lowell HOLLIMAN called her to join them in Heaven. She is finally free of the pain caused by the insidious cancer that ravaged her mortal body. Ditty is survived by her husband, Bill McNEIL of San Jacinto, Calif.; mother, Allie Jane KEEN and stepfather, Arley KEEN of Liberty; four HOLIMAN brothers, Daniel and Lowell Jr., both of Nicut, Michael of Ontario, Calif., and Joseph of Sallisaw; three stepsisters, and four stepbrothers. She had three daughters, Robin, Tracy and Tami of San Jacinto; and two stepdaughters, Grace and Peggy of California. The shining stars in her life were her 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; in addition, she had two nieces and three nephews. Her proudest moments were when the grandkids and their friends called her “Granny.” Her second proudest time was the time she spent with family, especially time with daughters. She was very family oriented. She had a great sense of humor and many friends who always enjoyed her wonderful smile and quick-witted jokes. Ditty was a loving and wonderful wife, daughter, sister, mother and “Granny” who will be forever missed. A celebration of her life was held on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at San Jacinto. Interment will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, in her family plot at Seabolt Cemetery in Nicut, under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw.

Laura Helen ORENDORFF, 92, of Sallisaw passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark. She was born on April 9, 1920, in Council Hill, the daughter of George Benson and Iva Nell (SPARKS) SELLERS. She married Cecil Malloy ORENDORFF on June 8, 1940, in Checotah. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1990, in Sallisaw. Mrs. ORENDORFF was a bookkeeper and a member of First Christian Church. Survivors are two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Nancy ORENDORFF of Edmond and Bill and Shelley ORENDORFF of Sallisaw; daughter-in-law, Barbara ORENDORFF of Fort Smith; five grandchildren, Lance ORENDORFF of Edmond, Chris and Matt ORENDORFF, both of Sallisaw, Randy ORENDORFF of Fort Smith and Michelle SLAPP of Oklahoma City; and two great-grandchildren, Adelynn and Will. She was also preceded in death by her son, Rick ORENDORFF; one grandchild, Robin; her parents; and one sister, Nellie FRAZIER. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at the Agent & Mallory-Martin Chapel. Burial will be at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Active pallbearers are Gary, Bill, Lance, Chris, Matt, Randy and Will Orendorff.

Loye SANDERS of Sallisaw was born on Jan. 20, 1945, in Sallisaw to Mildred Louise (ELLIS) and John Raymond SANDERS and passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, in Sallisaw at the age of 68. He is survived by three daughters, Becky SUMPTER of Bismark, N.D., Darlene ROWELL and husband, Wayne of Checotah and Terrie FITZSIMMONS and husband, Kelly of Sallisaw; one son, Joshua SANDERS of the home; three sisters, Marlene BROWN, Lahoma JONES and husband Randy and Patricia BROWN and husband, Roger, all of Sallisaw; one brother, Dale SANDERS and wife, Lilana FRUMOLT of Sallisaw; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Sherrel Ray and Jimmie SANDERS; two nieces, Kathy BROWN and Amber MILLS; and two nephews, Joey THOMAS and J.J. SANDERS. He was a HAM Radio Operator. He liked to hunt deer and coons and spend time with family and Mike Daffin and keep the rest of his family in line. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday April 5, 2013, at Agent & Mallory-Martin Chapel in Sallisaw. Burial will follow at Buffington Cemetery in Sallisaw under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Coleman Eugene SARGENT, 53, of Vian died on Monday, April 1, 2013, in Vian. He was born on April 2, 1959, in Dryden, Va., to Coleman Woodrow SARGENT and Thelma Jean (QUILLEN) SARGENT. No formal service is planned at this time. Cremation is under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. He was a general laborer. Survivors include one brother, Dennis SARGENT of Vian; one sister, Barbara SARGENT of Belton, Mo.; and several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; and his parents.

William Anthony TRIDER, 69, of Gans, died on Friday, March 22, 2013, in Midland, Mich. He was born on April 13, 1943. No formal service is planned at this time. Cremation is under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren, Ark. He was a truck driver for U.S. National Trucking Company in Van Buren. Survivors include his wife, Sue (TYLER) TRIDER of the home; two daughters, Alicia Tyler TRIDER of Gans and Deborah GRINDEL of Washington; one son, Ronald GRINDEL of New Mexico; two sisters, Michelle STROHSCHEIN of Idaho and Susan GRIZZLE of Prairie Grove, Ark.; one brother, William GRINDEL of New Mexico; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services for James Leroy WEST, 68, of Muldrow were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Lee’s Chapel Assembly of God Church in Muldrow with the Rev. Bobby Mason officiating. Burial was at Cottonwood Cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Muldrow. Mr. WEST was born on July 14, 1944, in Muldrow to Jessie Omer WEST and Evelyn (KIDD) WEST. He died on Friday, March 29, 2013, in Muldrow. He was a retired truck driver. He married Janet HARVELL on April 7, 1993, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Janet WEST of the home; four daughters, Mari GRAY of Porum, Crystal WEST of Prairie Grove, Ark., Ashley KNAULS of Fort Smith and Lisa LYNN of Muldrow; one son, Lee HAMBY of Sidney, Mont.; one sister Lois NOSS of Sacramento, Calif.; one brother, Tom WEST of Muldrow; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Junior WEST; and one sister, Linda HARRY. Pallbearers were J.R. Davis, Cleve E. Davis, Carl Kidd, Shawn Hallum Richard Huggins and Johnny Taylor.

Dr. Bill AGENT, D.O., 73, of Cookson passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, in Tulsa. He was born on Feb. 2, 1940, in Fort Smith, Ark., the son of William Seth AGENT Sr. and Sally Gallohan BAHR AGENT. He married Jacquelyn DAUGHERTY on July 1, 1978, in Tulsa. Dr. AGENT was a graduate of Sallisaw High School, participated in high school athletics where he was the Captain of the football team and voted Best All Around in his senior class. He was a graduate of NSU in Biology and Chemistry with minor studies in English. He was a graduate of Health Sciences and Doctor of Osteopathy in 1966. He served his internship at Tulsa Regional Medical Center and was Chairman of his intern class. He did his general surgery residency at Tulsa Regional Medical. Dr. AGENT was trained in general abdominal, gynecological and C-Section, urological, minor and major orthopedic, skin and integument, and endoscopic and laproscopic procedures. He was the past president of the Sallisaw Lions Club, past board member of the Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce, past Rotary Club member and Randolph County Chamber of Commerce in Pocahontas, Ark. Dr. AGENT recently retired from Stilwell General Hospital and was a lifetime fellow of American College of Ostepathic Surgery. Survivors include his wife, Jacquelyn of the home; one son, Seth AGENT of Fayetteville, Ark.; three daughters, Jordan AGENT of Cambridge, Mass., Brooke SIMON and husband, Joe Paul of Vian and Adrian ARNOLD and husband, Jimmy of Wyandotte; four granddaughters, Brooklyn AGENT, Borin ARNOLD, Rebel SIMON and Ayden ARNOLD; four grandsons, Rowdy, Rylee and River SIMON and Trace ARNOLD; and several cousins and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2013, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Sallisaw under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw.

Graveside services for Mary Elizabeth LONDON, 89, of Sallisaw are being held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, at Seabolt Cemetery in Muldrow with the Rev. Vernon Stone officiating under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. LONDON was born on Sept. 12, 1923, in Muldrow to Andrew Jackson EDWARDS and Sally Beth MARSHALL. She died on Monday, April 1, 2013, in Berryville, Ark. She was a nurses’ aide. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo E. LONDON; her parents; and 12 siblings.

Graveside services for Barbara Jean RIFFEY, 54, of Marble City will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2013, at Marble City Cemetery with Raymond Esteban officiating under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. RIFFEY was born on July 7, 1958, in Napa, Calif., to Billy Harold FAULK and Billie June (COWEN) FAULK. She died on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, in Sallisaw. She was a homemaker and nurses’ aide. She married Dennis Wayne RIFFEY on Aug. 27, 1976, in Lake Tahoe, Calif. Survivors include her husband, Dennis of the home; three sons, Mark Harold RIFFEY of Brushy and Richard Wayne RIFFEY and Danny Lee RIFFEY, both of Sallisaw; her parents, of Marble City; two sisters, Diana Lynn McGOWAN of Freemont, Calif. and Janie Marie GREGORY of Sallisaw; 11 grandchildren; and several other family members and friends.

Funeral services for Franklin TEHEE, 68, of Sallisaw will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Redbird Smith Ceremonial Grounds, with burial at the Redbird Smith Burial Grounds in Vian under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. TEHEE was born on Nov. 21, 1944, in Tahlequah to Houston TEHEE and Louella (LOCUST) TEHEE. He died on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and was a locksmith for 20 plus years. He married Louella MORRIS on July 18, 1966, in Stilwell. She preceded him in death on June 24, 2004. Survivors include two daughters, Stephanie Sue TEHEE and Cherokee Ella TEHEE, both of Gore; one son, Frank Ira TEHEE of Tahlequah; two sisters, Maudene VANN of Roland and Faye TEHEE of Sallisaw; three brothers, Herman TEHEE of Bixby and Larry TEHEE and Houston TEHEE, both of Sallisaw; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Susan MORRIS. Pallbearers will be Chris Holmes, Jaron Marshall, Gerald Morris, Noah Tehee, Steve Morris, Monte Tehee and Joe Bear Jr.

Graveside services for Truman Faye WOODY, 79, of Hanson will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2013, at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw with the Rev. Monroe Lowrimore officiating under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. WOODY was born on April 4, 1933, in Hanson to Truman Boin WOODY and Altha Belle (CULLUM) WOODY. He died on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, in Vian. He was a janitor at Baldor Electric. Survivors include one sister, Jeannette FIELDS of Hanson; three brothers, Ray WOODY of Brushy, Newton WOODY of Choctaw and Dewey WOODY of Rudy, Ark.; and several other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; companion, Dorothy GALLOWAY; four sisters, Lenora COFFMAN, Alene SIXKILLER, Inez QUINTON and Charlene FIELDS; two brothers, Raymond WOODY and Elvin WOODY; and two infant sisters.

Mrs. BARRILLEAIX was born on June 8, 1946, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Fred DOUGLAS and Lois (BURCHFIELD) DOUGLAS. She died on Sunday, March 31, 2013, in Marrero. She was a homemaker. She married Gerald Marius BARRILLEAIX on April 21, 1979, in Marrero. Survivors include her husband, Gerald of the home. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Burial was at Lee’s Chapel Cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Muldrow. Mr. BARNES was born on April 1, 1934, in Sallisaw to Noah Dallas BARNES and Goldie Lee (LONG) BARNES. He died on Saturday, April 6, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was an upholsterer. He married Norma Jean FRAZIER on March 19, 1954, in Muldrow. Survivors include his wife, Norma Jean BARNES of the home; one son, Jimmie Lee and wife, Mary BARNES of Muldrow; two daughters, Tammy Jean WILLIAMS of Fort Smith and Virginia Gwyn RANEY of Muldrow; one sister, Bea ALLEN of Central; three brothers, Robert BARNES of Roland, Earl BARNES of Fort Smith and Dale BARNES of Brent; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Sophie ENGLISH and Mildred GIESLER; and two brothers, Dallas and Eddie BARNES. Funeral services for Etta Lorece BROWN, 89, of Eastland, Texas will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013, at the Mallory-Martin Chapel in Spiro with the Rev. Shawn Caldwell officiating. Burial will be at Knothole Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro. Mrs. BROWN was born on April 15, 1923, in Williams to James E. and Ruth (LAUGHLIN) BROWN. She died on Saturday, April 6, 2013, in Eastland, Texas. She enjoyed sewing, working the yard and relaxing with a good cup of coffee with family and friends. Survivors include one daughter, Sue MARSHALL and husband, Jerry of Tracy, Calif.; one son, Floyd GOINES and wife, Coralie of Eastland; four grandchildren; and three sisters, Marie SPICER and Sylvia HALE, both of Spiro and Bonnie MULLINS of Booneville, Ark. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Don GOINES; three brothers, James, Ellis and Dez BROWN; and three sisters, Joyce and Connie BROWN and Dym FAULKNER.

Funeral services for William DICKSON, 76, of Vian will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at Christ the King Church in Vian. Burial will be at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ark., under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. DICKSON was born on Feb. 6, 1937, in Vian to Henry DICKSON and Mayodis IRISH. He died on Saturday, April 6, 2013, in Vian. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He married Noami STATEN on Feb. 22, 1986. Survivors include four daughters, Debra. Linda, Rebecca and Chene of Los Angeles, Calif.; one son, Larry BOGARD of Los Angeles; and one sister, Joyce JOHNSON of Muskogee. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Clara STONE; and four brothers, Lenard, Kelly, Paul and Charles DICKSON. Pallbearers will be Raymond Dickson, Michael Dickson, Harley Dickson, William Floyed, Victory William and Ray Shade.

Funeral services for Robert Allen JONES Sr., 66, of Pocola will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013, at the Mallory-Martin Chapel in Spiro. Burial will be at Macedonia Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro. Mr. JONES was born on Dec. 23, 1946, in Fort Smith, Ark., to William Matthew and Erlyne Isabelle (CALMA) JONES. He died on Sunday, April 7, 2013, in Pocola. He was a member of HOG (Harley Owners Group) and he supervised at Baldor for 30 years. He enjoyed motorcycles, hot rods, restoring vehicles and his family. Survivors include his wife, Julie of the home; three sons, Robert A. JONES II and wife, Kim of Fort Smith, Van FALTIN and wife, Deb of Omaha, Neb., and Scott JONES and wife, MaRae of Pocola; stepdaughter, Gina RICHARDSON of Dallas, Texas; stepson, Kenneth L. LALLI of Pocola; two sisters, Donna FARNED and Connie LAIRAMORE and husband, Mike, all of Pocola; three brothers, Tony JONES and wife, Evanell and Phillip JONES and wife, Brenda, all of Pocola and Steve JONES of Spiro; nine grandchildren; and several other family members and friends. Burial was at Lee’s Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. PRESCOTT was born on Sept. 19, 1929, in Sparks to John PRESCOTT and Ethel FAGAN. He died on Sunday, April 7, 2013, in Muldrow. He was a line worker at Whirlpool. He married Lucy Fay HALLUM on Aug. 8, 1959, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Lucy PRESCOTT of the home; and several other family members and friends. He moved to Rosepine where he was a dairy farmer for over 20 years. He later worked for Cubic as a shift leader until 2012. Survivors include his wife, Arlene TRACY of Rosepine; one son, Lance TRACY and wife, Jess of Kingston, Tenn.; one daughter, Sherry KENDRICK and husband, John of Rosepine; one brother, Bill HURST of Sallisaw; three sisters, Patricia ACTON and husband, Butch of Neosho, Mo., Mary SMITH of Sallisaw and Laverne EKDAHL of Lubbock, Texas; and two grandchildren. Merlin J. “Jake” TURMAN, age 73, of Vian passed from this life on Sunday, April 7, 2013, in Gore while surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Jake was born to Reese TURMAN and Betty (HENSON) TURMAN on Feb. 29, 1940. Jake moved his family to Vian in 1972, where he owned and operated a paint and body shop. He ran a fishing guide service for several years at Lake Tenkiller. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He had a passion for not only playing music, but also teaching others about music. He played at many community events. Jake was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Arnold and Bob TURMAN; and a grandson, Dolen Ray TURMAN. He is survived by four children, Merlin “Timothy” TURMAN of Cookson, Karen MARVIN of Sallisaw, Richard TURMAN of Edmond and Marlin “Bill” TURMAN of Wagoner; siblings, Owen TURMAN of Vian, Mary C. CUMBIE of Harrah, and Joe TURMAN of Harrah; nine grandchildren, Autumn REID, Joshua TURMAN, Misty MARVIN, Briley MARVIN, Candace LIEBERT, Luke TURMAN, Kyle TURMAN, Dakota TURMAN and Wyatt TURMAN; five great-grandchildren; life-long companion, Bessie JOHNSON; and her children, DeAnn BARRETT, Bruce JOHNSON, Sheila HALL and Kent JOHNSON and grandchildren. Tammy Sue LEIGHTON-DAVIS, 51, of Muldrow passed away on Monday, April 8, 2013, in Muldrow. She was born on Sept. 3, 1961, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the daughter of Gary MURPHY and Irene FIELDS. She was an LPN and of the Baptist faith. She loved spending time with her grandkids. Survivors are two sons, Jeffery DAVIS and wife, Sherry and Tony RENFRO II, all of Sallisaw; her mother, Irene FIELDS of Muldrow; her father, Gary MURPHY of Council Bluffs; sister, Tammy Ann CLARK of Sallisaw; brother, Dustin LEIGHTON of Muldrow; one granddaughter, Stormy DAVIS; and two grandsons, Dakota DAVIS and Ethan RENFRO. Raymond Allen LACKEY, 75, of Vian passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, in Vian. He was born on Feb. 6, 1938, in Bakersfield, Calif., the son of Vernon and Eunice (HOPKINS) LACKEY. He married Geraldine COWART on March 24, 1957, in Tulare, Calif. Mr. LACKEY was a long-haul truck driver and a Baptist. He worked for FWCC in Muldrow for 19 years. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine LACKEY of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Jeannie and Jimmy MAR of Vian; three sons and one daughter-in-law, David and Carol LACKEY of Fort Worth, Texas, Ron LACKEY of Vian and Tim LACKEY of Watertown, Wis.; two brothers, Clifford LACKEY of Tulare and Tom LACKEY of Yreka, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and many other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Joyce DOTSON; two brothers, Jim and Harold LACKEY; and one sister, Louise LACKEY. Dexter EDWARDS, 57, of Sallisaw died on Sunday, April 7, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was born on Sept. 16, 1955, in Geneva, N.Y., to Leroy and Norma Jean (GOAD) EDWARDS. At Mr. EDWARDS’ request no service is planned. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith. He was a retired tow truck operator. He enjoyed geo caching with his family and woodworking. He was involved in Cub Scouts and was Cubmaster of Sallisaw Cub Scout Pack 731. He recently became involved in 4-H. Survivors include his wife, Kimberly; two daughters, Courtney EDWARDS of Hot Springs, Ark., and Amanda EDWARDS of Oklahoma City; one son, Tommy EDWARDS of California; one sister, Linda HOLLAND and husband, Anthony of Coweta; his mother, of Coweta; and eight grandchildren, Kyle, Katelyn, Jakob, Jordan, and Logan EDWARDS, Lane MASON, and Tyler and Haley BOTSFORD. He was preceded in death by his father; and an uncle, Bobby T. GOAD.

He passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, in Sallisaw at the age of 71. Lola LOVERN, 89, of Sallisaw passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, in Sallisaw. She was born on Aug. 17, 1923, in Sallisaw the daughter of Richard and Florence BIBB. She married Bill LOVERN on Jan. 25, 1942, in Ozark, Ark. He preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 2010, in Sallisaw, after 69 years of marriage. Mrs. LOVERN retired after 30 years in the nursing home business. She was an accomplished seamstress, loved to garden, enjoyed reading, playing cards and playing with her great-grandchildren. She was an engaged member of the First Baptist Church in Sallisaw. She loved her children, Carolyn KUPSICK and husband, Homer of Tulsa, Wayne LOVERN and wife, Anna of Chatham, Ill, Carl LOVERN and wife, Carolyn of Fort Smith, Ark., and Cindy ROGERS and late husband, Doug of Sallisaw; she is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Herman BIBB; and four sisters, Dorothy ZALBALDANO, Jessie TRIGULET, Melba DUDLEY and Mary BIBB. Terry David SMITH, 59, of Sallisaw passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, in Sallisaw. He was born on July 6, 1953, in Sallisaw the son of R.L. and Wanda Bernice (THOMPSON) SMITH. He married Jeri Lynn ATWOOD on Dec. 18, 1987, in Santa Fe, N.M. Mr. SMITH was raised in Sallisaw. He moved to Santa Fe where he lived for a short time, and then traveled back to his home in Sallisaw where he worked at his love of being a bird dog trainer and owner of Sequoyah Kennels. He was an avid outdoorsman. Survivors include three daughters, Tina KISSOEBURG of Fort Smith, Ark., Shanna MORRIS of Van Buren, Ark., and Terra WHITE of Vian; two sons, Timothy HOLT of Terrell, Texas and Tracy HOLT of Talihina; one brother, Doyle DUTY of Roland; three sisters, Louetta SHARP of Muldrow and Ann GUILLORY and Glenda St. ClLAIR, both of Fort Smith; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond HOLT; second husband, Harold Tough JORDAN; her parents; and three brothers, Dee, Leon and Darrell DUTY.

Funeral services for Melvin Eugene PARTAIN, 65, of Muldrow were held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, at the Agent Chapel in Muldrow with the Rev. Dale Phelps officiating. Burial was at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ark., under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Muldrow. Mr. PARTAIN was born on Dec. 13, 1947, in Marysville, Calif., to Luther Sidney PARTAIN and Ruby (WILLIAMS) PARTAIN. He died on Thursday, April 18, 2013, in Fort Smith. He was a supervisor at Baldor Electric for 31 years. He married Glenda Elaine PLANK on July 8, 1966, in Muldrow. Survivors include his wife, Elaine PARTAIN of the home; one daughter, Jennifer PARTAIN of Muldrow; one son, Michael PARTAIN of Muldrow; two sisters, Patricia ROBISON of Short and Linda REYNOLDS of Pocola; his mother, of Fort Smith; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father; and one brother, Don PARTAIN. Pallbearers were Ronnie Curry, Larry Plank, Dale Plank, Loren Matthews, Todd Matthews and Wesley Albaugh.

Elzy Dean SUMPTER, 74, of Sallisaw died on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, in Sallisaw. He was born on Sept. 14, 1938, in Marble City to Elzy Gus Sumpter and Anna Jane (WOODWARD) SUMPTER. No formal service is planned at this time. Cremation is under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. He was a heavy equipment operator. He married Lillie Jean PETTIT in 1958 in Stilwell. Survivors include his wife, Jean SUMPTER of the home; one daughter, Deanna of Sallisaw; three brothers, Frank SUMPTER and Don SUMPTER, both of Sallisaw and Larry SUMPTER of Fort Smith, Ark.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Bob SUMPTER.

Funeral services for Lawrence Brantley “Larry” WHITAKER Jr., 83, of Vian were held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, at Blackgum Baptist Church with Bro. Dale Ritter officiating. Burial was at Box Cemetery in Vian under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. WHITAKER was born on Aug. 10, 1929, in Pace, Miss., to Lawrence Brantley WHITAKER Sr. and Mae Ethel (LEWIS) WHITAKER. He died on Friday, April 19, 2013. He was a Building Services Engineer for the Utica office of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He retired in 1991. He married Patricia Mae BIRD on Nov. 12, 1983, in Rome, N.Y. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Mae WHITAKER of the home; five daughters, Ellen ENGLISH and Meridith WHITAKER, both of Vian, Patricia BRAUER of Newport, N.Y., Melani DAVIS of Sallisaw and Laurie GASSAWAY of Hulbert; two sons, William L. WHITAKER of Healdsburg, Calif., and Billy Jack WHITAKER of Tulsa; four stepdaughters, Carolyn PERRY, Kathleen McDOUGAL and Barbara DAVIS, all of Vian and Melissa BARTLETT of Sallisaw; one stepson, John KIEPPRIEN of South Carolina; one son-in-law, Joseph KIERPIEC; two sisters, Ethel WHITAKER of Crossett, Ark. and Helen OSBORNE of Fort Smith, Ark.; 25 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Wendy KIERPIEC; brother, Eugene WHITAKER; one grandson; and three great-grandsons. Pallbearers were his grandsons.

Funeral services for Alice DIX, 92, of Spiro will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, at the Mallory-Martin Chapel in Spiro with the Revs. O.M. Wilson and Sherman Dix officiating. Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro. Mrs. DIX was born on Oct. 14, 1920, in Cache Bottoms to William A. and Effie (REID) DAVES. She died on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark. She was of the Pentecostal faith. Survivors include one daughter, Helen RETHMAN and husband, George of Spiro; two sons, John DIX and wife, Brenda and Ralph E. DIX, all of Spiro; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, D.B. LAWRENCE and Robert DAVES. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph “Roy” DIX; a grandson; and three brothers. Pallbearers will be James Dix, Todd Dix, Toby Dix, George Richard Rethman, Michael Rethman and Tab Rethman.

Marion E. FRAZIER, 87, of Folcroft, Penn., passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013. Mr. FRAZIER was born on Aug. 19, 1925, in Sallisaw to Thomas W. FRAZIER and Nora (REESE) FRAZIER. His mother passed away when he was only six months old and three years later his father married Audry V. BENGE of Muldrow. She became the only mother he ever knew. He joined the U.S. Navy when he was 17 years old and served in the Pacific Theater during World War II aboard the U.S.S. MacDonough and U.S.S. Guam. After leaving the Navy he made his home in Folcroft and went to work for the John B. Stetson Hat Company where he worked for 28 years before the company moved. He then went to work for the Philadelphia Electric Company and retired in 1987, after 25 years of service. Marion enjoyed camping, hunting and crabbing on the New Jersey shore. He also enjoyed his many trips back to his home state of Oklahoma, where he would visit with and reacquaint himself with old friends and relatives from his childhood days. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 49 years, Phyllis ADARNO; brothers, Melvin FRAZIER, Jerry FRAZIER, Garland Levi FRAZIER and Homer Ray FRAZIER; sisters, Jean ROGERS and Bonnie CLARK; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lemuel and Kay CASEY, Fran BUSH, Nick ADORNO, Bob CLARK and Howard HANNA. Survivors include daughters, JoAnne MARTINELLI and Tony of Folcroft and Donna CAREY and Jim of Glenolden, Pa.; brothers, Kenneth FRAZIER of Spiro and Tommy Dale FRAZIER and Janet of Galax, Va.; sisters, Faye FRAZIER of Kibler, Ark., Paula HANNA of Roland, Mary Ann HAMMOND and Larry of Roland and Betty PETEET and Charles of Houston, Texas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Pat FRAZIER, Rachel FRAZIER, Frank and Dee SQUILLACE, Rose LOGAN and Al BUSH; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Norwood, Pa., with burial at Saint Peter and Saint Paul Cemetery in Springfield, Pa.

Memorial services for Clifford Henry LUNDT, 80, of Sallisaw were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witness in Sallisaw. Arrangements were under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. LUNDT was born on Dec. 27, 1932, in Genesee, Idaho to Clifford LUNDT and Teresa. He died on Monday, April 22, 2013, in Sallisaw. He was a glazier. He married Linda Sue WORSTELL on Aug. 11, 1976, in Seattle, Wash. Survivors include his wife, Linda LUNDT of the home; three daughters, Christie VONVILLE and Amber DOSTER, both of Atlanta, Ga., and Jennifer McDANIEL of California; two sons, Eric LUNDT of Seattle and Butch LUNDT; three sisters; eight grandchildren; and mother and father-in-law, Frank Louis  WORSTELL of Sallisaw. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Edith SHOFNER PATTERSON, 75, of Muldrow passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark. She was born on Nov. 27, 1937, in Redland the daughter of Charlie and Willard (PLANK) SHOFNER. Ms. PATTERSON was an inspector at Rheem Manufacturing and a Baptist. Survivors are three sisters, Genny KRAMER of Scranton, Ark., Betty ROBERTS of Roland and Jane Kay JOHNSON of Prairie Grove, Ark.; special nieces, Pam and Teala CORMIER; special caregiver, Jeff SHOFNER; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Lee Scott PATTERSON; her parents, Willard and Charlie SHOFNER; three brothers, Buddy KING, C.L. SHOFNER and Jerry Dale SHOFNER; and one sister, Emma JORDAN. Burial was at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw. In lieu of flowers, cards may be sent to P.O. Box 110, Prairie Grove, AR 72753.
