Funeral services for Alyson S. CARSON, 34, of Fort Smith, Ark., were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Smith Mortuary Chapel in Charleston, Ark., with Rev. Tim Hobbs officiating. Burial was in Measles Cemetery in Lavaca, Ark., under the direction of Smith Mortuary, Inc. of Fort Smith. She was born Sept 4, 1968, in Glendale, Calif. She died Saturday, July 26, 2003, in an area hospital. Survivors include her husband, Christopher CARSON of the home; one daughter, Bayleigh Shae; one son, James Everett II ; two step-sons, Gage Edward and Braden McKenzie Lee; two sisters, Diana and Carolyn; and her parents, James "J.O." and Delores DOUGLAS.

Funeral services for Herman Gordon KECK, 80, of Stockton, Calif. will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Rocha's Mortuary in Lodi, Calif. with burial in Lodi Memorial Park and Cemetery in Lodi, under the direction of Rocha's Mortuary of Lodi. He was born Aug 12, 1922, in Sallisaw. He died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, in Stockton. Survivors include his wife, Catherine KECK of Stockton; one daughter, Nancy; and one brother, Earl Cody. He was preceded in death by one son, Roger Martin KECK.

Funeral services for C. Ernest MARTIN, 72, of Tulsa, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Rose Hill Funeral Home Chapel in Tulsa. Burial was in Rose Hill Memorial Park in Tulsa. He was born Sept 25, 1931, in Sallisaw, to Everett Earnest and Nora Elizabeth (CAMP) MARTIN. He died Monday, July 28, 2003, in Sallisaw. Survivors include his wife, Betty MARTIN of the Tulsa; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and LaDonna, Earnest Scott and Brenda; one daughter, Leea Dione; three brothers, Leroy, Merle and Billy; one sister, Dorothy; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Mildred Marie STARR PINKERTON,86, of Ochelata, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Steep Hill Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ark., with Rev. Kenton White officiating, under the direction of Arnold Moore Funeral Service of Bartlesville. She was born in Pocola. She died Friday, July 25, 2003, in Jane Phillips Memorial Medical Center in Bartlesville. She married Sam PINKERTON on May 19, 1934, in Fort Smith. He preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 1995. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Donald and his wife Jeannie; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lois June, Doris J. and her husband Frank and Sharon M. and her husband Edward; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and his  wife Ayako Su and Jerold and his wife Wanda; and two sisters, Alice Jean and Jessie Mae. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Lillian WHITSON and Rose Ann STARR.

Graveside services for Mary Ellen BARBER, 83, of Bay, Ark., formerly of Muldrow, were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Cottonwood Cemetery south of Muldrow, with Revs. Steve Harrelson and William R. Passmore officiating, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. She was born April 24, 1920, in Mulberry, Ark., to James H. HARMON and Ethel Elizabeth (McADOO) HARMON. She died Friday, Aug. 1, 2003, in Jonesboro, Ark. She married Clyde BARBER on May 1, 1937, in Fort Smith, Ark. He preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 1999. Survivors include two daughters, and sons-in-law, Blanche Faye and Jerry, and Betty Sue and William; five sons and one daughter-in-law, Jerry O. and Linda, Johnny L.,James W., Billy R. and Danny J.; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one sister, Geneva; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Clyde Houston BARBER and Gary Dale BARBER.

Funeral services for Orian James CRAFTON, 43, of  Porum, were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Porum Free Will Baptist  Church, with Rev. James Williams officiating. Burial was in Warner Memorial Cemetery, under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler. He was born July 13, 1960, in Paragould, Ark., to Everett O. CRAFTON. He died Thursday, July 31, 2003, in a Muskogee hospital. Mr. CRAFTON married Kennie HUCKABEE in 1978. Survivors include one son, Jason Ray; one daughter, Sunny; his parents; one brother, Douglas; one sister, Karen; and  several aunts, uncle, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Howard HAYES, 71, of Muldrow, were held at 9 a.m. Monday at the Dora Cemetery Arbor, with burial in Dora Cemetery in Dora, Ark., under the directions of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren, Ark. Survivors include one daughter, Mary; one son, John; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-(great)grandchild; one sister, Adeline; two brother, Alford and Arthur.

Funeral services for Tara Mechelle JOHNSON, 15, of Sallisaw, are being held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Agent Chapel in Sallisaw, with Rev. Larry Don Marley officiating. Burial is in Akins Cemetery northeast of Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. She was born Aug 21, 1987, in Fort Smith, Ark. to Jimmy Andrew JOHNSON and Lisa June JOHNSON. She died Sunday, Aug 3, 2003, in Sallisaw. Survivors include her parents of Sallisaw; two brothers, Cody Andrew and Jimmy Joe; maternal grandmother, June QUALLS; paternal grandparents, Amos and Patricia JOHNSON; maternal great-grandmother, Bonnie CRAIGHEAD; paternal great-grandmother, Helen MOUNT; several aunts, including Sheila; uncles and other relatives and friends.

Burial was in Gray Rock Cemetery in Paris, Ark., under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith. She was born on Dec. 28, 1911, in Webb City, Ark. to Andy ALSTON and Johnnie Dean ALSTON. She died Saturday, July 26, 2003, in an area hospital. Survivors include four sons, Ray Franklin, Jesse Lee, Harold and Ersie; one daughter, Laura Mae; 31 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Burial was in Old Dallas Cemetery under the direction of Hall Funeral Home of Mena She was born May 7, 1948, in Fayetteville, Ark. to Poley DOUCET and Thelma Ray (WICKERSHAM) DOUCET. She married retired Col. Billy R. WOOD on July 28, 1995, in Fort Belvoir, Va. Survivors include her husband; her mother; one sister, Paula Ruth; one step-son and daughter-in-law, Maj Yancy D. and his wife Mary C.; two grandsons; one step-daughter, Angela L. She was preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include two daughter, Rene and Hazel; four sons, Roy, Chuck, Albert and Roy; and several grandchildren; two brothers, Ray and Bennie; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Joyce and Sarah BILYEU.

Jim Hall pastor of the Fletcher Christian Church officiating, under the direction of Hodge Funeral Home of Fletcher. He was born Aug. 24, 1913, in Hanson, to William D. BURROW and Emma (CARTER) BURROW. He died Monday, Aug 4, 2003, in a Cyril nursing home  Mr. BURROW married Dorothy HERRING on June 8, 1936, in Oklahoma City. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy BURROW of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Paul and his wife Mary, one daughter and son-in-law, Ann and her husband attorney Tom; four grandchildren; and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Burial is in Brushy Cemetery, north of Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. He was born on May 8, 1955, in Steuben, Maine, to Gilbert Edward DORR and Elaine Ida (COLSONS) DORR. He died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003, in Sallisaw. He married Sheila Gail RISENHOOVER on July 19, 1974, in Sallisaw. Survivors include his wife, Sheila DORR of the home; two daughters, Michelle and Kimberly and her husband, Joshua; his parents, Gilbert and Elaine DORR; maternal grandparents, William and Lillian COLSONS; three sisters, Sally, Sue  and Cheryl; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

He died Wednesday, Aug 6, 2003, in Sallisaw.  Survivors include two sisters, Georgia Loise and Barbara Ann; one brother, Jerry; three aunts, Juanita, Thelma and Betty; and five uncles, Francis, Donald, Edward, Keith and Bill. He was born Aug 30,1 921, in Ada. He died Wednesday, Aug. 6 2003, in an area hospital. Survivors include his wife, Vera McNEILL of the home; one daughter, Sharon; four sons, Dennis, Allen, Rickey and Charles; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Survivors include three daughter and two sons-in-law, Sherry, Lana and her husband Rodney, and Vickie and her husband Jimmy; one on, Dennis; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, and two brothers-in-law, Evelyn, Joyce and her husband Leslie, and Melba and her husband Alan; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles Herbert and his wife Shorty, and Bud and his wife Ann. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Harold Odell MILLER and Ervil MILLER.

W.H. "Bill" TEMPLETON, 73, of Sallisaw, died Saturday, Aug 16, 2003, in Sallisaw. Arrangements were under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Sallisaw. He was born Jan. 16, 1930, in Bismark, Mo., to Atto Everett TEMPLETON and Mattie VINYARD. Survivors include two daughters, Karen Jo  and Brenda; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his caregiver, Susan. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Erma TEMPLETON; five brothers, Raymond, Vernon, Paul, John and Glen TEMPLETON; and one nephew, Robert TEMPLETON.
