Funeral services for Willis Allen DEATHERAGE, 67, of Sallisaw, are being held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Solomon Ward building in Mesa, Ariz. Burial is in the City of Mesa Cemetery, under the direction of Bunker Family Funerals and Cremation of Mesa. Mr. DEATHERAGE was born March 28, 1941, in Mesa. He died Tuesday, July 29, 2008. Mr. DEATHERAGE spent most of his working years on a dairy and was spending his retirement on his small ranch in Sallisaw. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.Survivors include his wife, Nancy of the home; son, Willis II; daughter, Connie; five grandchildren; three brothers; three sisters; and nieces, nephews and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and three brothers.

Funeral services for Phyllis J. STRATTON, 81, of Cookson, are being held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the St. John's Catholic Church in Cookson with Father Desmond Okpagba officiating. Rosary was held at 6 p.m. Friday at St. John's Catholic Church. Burial of ashes was in Cookson Proctor Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. STRATTON was born Feb. 15, 1927, in Stillwater, to Arthur Hugh BURKEY and Hildagard (KNAUS) BURKEY. She died Tuesday, July 29, 2008, in Muskogee. She married Howard STRATTON, Oct. 3, 1948, in Cushing. He preceded her in death, April 10, 1988, in Tahlequah. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Tom, and Sarah and Junior; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Rita; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by one son, George, one grandchild, Grant and two brothers, Jack and Sonny BURKEY.

Manford Marion TWITCHELL, 81, of Sallisaw, died on Friday, July 25, 2008, in Sallisaw. No formal service is planned and cremation is under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. TWITCHELL was born March 2, 1946, in Ogden, Utah, to Jasper Knight TWITCHELL and Ethel Lucille (DAVIDSON) TWITCHELL. Survivors include one son, Samuel E.; mother, Ethel ROUSH; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary Lou, and Suanna and Jim; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Audrey, and Thomas Michael and Laura; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, one sister, Carol Lee DAVIDSON and his step-father, Donald ROUSH.

Freddie Eugene CARSON Sr., 57, of Roland, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008 in Fort Smith, Ark. No formal service is planned and cremation is under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith. Mr. CRSON was born April 16, 1951, in Fort Smith. Survivors include his daughter, Beverly; son, Freddie Eugene; sister, Charlotte; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services for Joe CARTER, 66, of Muldrow, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Muldrow Church of God with Pastor Shirley Harrod officiating, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow. Mr. CARTER was born Feb. 19, 1942, in Seminole, to Ed Raymond CARTER and Ophal D. SMITH. He died Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, in Muldrow. He married Linda FLOYD, Feb. 17, 1978, in Sallisaw. Survivors include his wife, Linda of the home; two daughters and one son-in-law, Christina and Doug, and Lee Ann; one son, Joseph Brandon; five grandchildren; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Diana, and Sherita and Curtis; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Carl and Wilma, and Jerry and June, and Leroy; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one son, Richard Don CARTER and his parents.

Funeral services for Betty CHOATE, 61, of Vian, are being held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Vian Trinity Free Holiness Church in Vian with the Revs. Steven Connelly and Herbert Lee officiating. Burial is in Haven of Rest Cemetery, in Vian, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. CHOATE was born Feb. 16, 1947, in Stilwell, to Floyd RHOADES and Beatrice (WILLIAMS) RHOADES. She died Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, in Vian. She married Jack Weston CHOATE, July 13, 1963, in Stilwell.  Survivors include her husband, Jack of the home; two daughters, Becky and Anna; four sons, Andy, David, Joe and Sam; 18 grandchildren; two sisters, Rita and Linda; one brother, Jimmy; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends; and special friends, Jim and Charlene, Aunt Brenda, Max and Judy, Charles and Charlene, and Marshall and Gettis.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Leah ESTES and Martha CHOATE and two grandchildren, Natalie CONNELLY and Trent CHOATE.

Funeral services for Jesse Ray SHEPHERD, 57, of Alma, Ark., are being held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith, Ark. Burial is in the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, with the Rev. Rick Wilkins officiating, under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith. Mr. SHEPHERD was born June 10, 1951, in Norfolk, Va. He died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008 in Alma. Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Donna; five sons, Russell and Cathy, Roy and his wife, Kristi, and Charlie, Cory and Johnny; two daughters, Jessie and Lauren; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles "Bud" and Mary SHEPHERD, brother, David COATES and son Jason WILLIAMS.

Funeral services for Robert Lee "R.L." SMITH Jr., 81, of Sallisaw, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Agent Chapel in Sallisaw with the Rev. Tommy Hawkins officiating. Burial was in Sallisaw City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. SMITH was born July 26, 1927, in Sequoyah County, to Robert Lee SMITH Sr. and Minnie Ann (CRAIG) SMITH . He died Friday, Aug. 1, 2008, in Sallisaw. He married Wanda Bernice THOMPSON, May 17, 1947, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Wanda of the home; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert, Jimmy and Barbara Ann, Terry David and Jeri Lynn, and Lee; two daughters and one son-in-law, Patricia and Durk, and Beth Marie; 12 grandchildre; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nina and Marie; one brother, Bill; special hunting and fishing buddy, Tommy; close family friend, Linda; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services for Tommie R. TALLEY, 80, of Roland, are being held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ark. with the Rev. Vernon Stone officiating, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Roland. Military honors are being provided by the VFW Post 8384 of Muldrow. Mr. TALLEY was born April 13, 1928, in Wilson, to Thomas Perry TALLEY and Della (SOWELL) TALLEY. He died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008, in Roland. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Perry and Charion, and Tim and Laurie; one daughter, Barbara Ann; two grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Jackie Wayne THACKER Sr., 54, of Van Buren, Ark., will be held at a later date. Cremation was under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren. He died Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, in a local hospital. Survivors include his wife, Patricia of Sallisaw; one daughter, Jessica; one son, Jackie Wayne; two sisters, Cathy and Sherry; four brothers, Frankie, Larry, Terry and Gerry ; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Charles and his wife, Martha; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Cremation is under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren. Mrs. MULLIS died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008, in a local hospital. Mrs. MULLIS was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her husband, Nelson of the home; six daughters, Linda, Shannon, Dixie , Diana, Tracy and Windy; three sons, Clint, Travis and Ronald; one sister, Karolyn; three brothers, Harold, William, and Jerold; 27 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren. He died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008, in Sallisaw. He married Sigrid CRAWFORD, Dec. 28, 1946, in Fort Smith, Ark. She preceded him in death, Dec. 12, 1988, in Fort Smith. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Melba; one grandson and spouse; two great-grandsons; two sisters, Ethel and Jettie Lee. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Wynona HAMLIN and three brothers, L.D., Frank and Clarence TRUEBLOOD.

Services for Bill Ed ROGERS, 66, of Sallisaw, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, in a Fort Smith, Ark., hospital. He was born to Avos and Marie "Chick" (CHISUM) ROGERS on Aug. 20, 1941, in Fort Smith. Mr. ROGERS is survived by his wife of almost 31 years, Mary, of the home; his children, Kevin and his wife, Keeley; Chris "Sonny", his wife, Gina,; Uthana, her husband, Greg; Michelle; Kelly Rogers and her husband, Miles; Jason, his wife, Lynette, and future daughter, Becky Jo; and seven grandchildren; and sisters Kathy, and Sondra and her husband, David. Mr. ROGERS was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Hada Rollen TUCKER Sr., 77, of Muldrow, are being held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Sallisaw with Bro. Kevin Peterson officiating. Cremation is under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. TUCKER was born Oct. 5, 1930, in Haytie, Mo., to Robert Edward TUCKER and Annie Jane (CLARK) TUCKER. He died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, in Fort Smith, Ark. He married Barbara Louise CLINE, Oct. 17, 1987, in Fort Smith. Survivors include his wife, Barbara of the home; two daughters and one son-in-law, Connie and Barbara and Jason; one son, Blaine; one sister, Vernie; one brother, Henry; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. Mr. ETZKORN was born March 5, 1938, in Morrison Bluff, Ark. He died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, in Tulsa. Survivors include his wife, Kathy of the home; daughters, Belinda and Kelly; one son, Charles Chip; one sister, Margaret; three brothers, Tony, Ray and Arthur Frank; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mr. FOSTER was born July 1, 1945, in Hot Springs, Ark., to Clifford Eugene FOSTER and Willie Mae (HUGHES) FOSTER. He died Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, in Muldrow. He married Janie Catherine SAUL, June 6, 1981, in Muldrow. Burial was in the Garden of Memories, in Charleston, Ark., under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro. Mrs. McCANN died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008, in Sallisaw. Survivors include two daughters, Martha and her husband, George, and Shirley; one daughter-in-law, Donna; two sons, Stanley and his wife, Connie, and Manuel and his wife, Gwen; one sister, Wileen; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Pete SWIFT, her second husband, Earl McCANN, one son, Jimmy Don SWIFT, three sisters and three brothers.

Mr. MITCHELL was born April 9, 1960, in Huntington Park, Calif., to Carl Eugene MITCHELL and Lawanda Mae (Hatfield) MITCHELL RANKIN. He died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include one son, Justin; two daughters and one son-in-law, Melissa and Carl, and Brianna; one grandchild; and several brothers, sister, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. He died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, in Roland. He married Mona Gail RUSSELL, Sept. 3, 1976, in Poteau. She preceded him in death, May 24, 2002, in Roland. Survivors include his mother, Irene; three step-daughters, Kathy, Joan and Lisa; eight step-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; mother-in-law, Neoma RUSSELL of the home; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Lynn REEVES.

Mr. TAYLOR was born Sept. 15, 1929, in Muskogee, to Soper and Vernie (STEWART) TAYLOR. He died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, in Muskogee. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven Lloyd and Teresa, and Roger Mark and Susan; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Ann and Randy; two grandchildren and their three great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Bill; brother and sister-in-law, Soper and Liz; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, some from the Sallisaw area.

Graveside services for Robert Charles "Mick" ISAAC Jr., 41, of Sallisaw, are being held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the New Hope Cemetery in Spiro with the Rev. James Jones officiating, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau. Mr. ISAAC was born May 3, 1967, in Poteau. He died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, in Sallisaw. Survivors include his grandmother, Patricia ISAAC; wife, Connie ISAAC of Sallisaw; sons, Joshua, James and Jeseph; granddaughter; father, Robert Charles ISAAC Sr.; mother, Gay SMITH; six sisters, Robin, Patricia, Sherri, Shalain, Vicky and Dawn Denise; three brothers, Merrit, Tommy and Steven; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Presley ISAAC .

Funeral services for Wanda Faye Kenrick MOORE, 66, of Mulberry, Ark., were held Wednesday at the Shaw Memorial Chapel in Vici. Burial was in Sunnyside Cemetery, under the direction of Shaw Funeral Home of Vici. Mrs. MOORE was born Nov. 24, 1941, in Vici, to Obed and Glessnell (WINGO) KENRICK. She died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008. Survivors include her children, Debbie, Mike, Jenny and Courtney; sisters, Rowena, Joyce and Billie; brothers, Charles and Joe; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Lowell Dean KENRICK, sister, Lawaive HORNER and nephews, Johnny JONES and Johnny FILES.

Funeral services for Wade OSBURN, 80, of Muldrow, were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Agent Chapel in Muldrow with the Rev. Bill Adcock officiating. Burial was in Muldrow Memory Garden, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow. Mr. OSBURN was born Feb. 22, 1928, in Hanson, to Starling Robert OSBURN and Myrtle Mae (COLE) OSBURN. He died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, in Fort Smith, Ark. He married Kathryn Bernice CAPPS, June 1957, in Ozark, Ark. She preceded him in death, May 10, 2002, in Fort Smith. Survivors include four daughters and three sons-in-law, Teresa and Joe, Tanya, Michelle and Bill, and Tywanna and Larry; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Dicie; three brothers, Wayne, Euel, and Leroy. He was also preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Eunice DUNIVANT, Edith REYNOLDS and Imogene OSBURN and three brothers, Raymond, J.V. and Donald Ray OSBURN.

Burial was in Long Cemetery, under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. PARKER was born Nov. 19, 1954, in Paris, Ark., to Otis Lee and Lucille (DYCUS) PARKER. He died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, in Fayetteville, Ark. Survivors include three daughters, Monica, Sarah and Melissa; one son, Josh; three sisters, Helen and her husband, Henry, Betty, Rhonda and her husband, Fidel; one brother, Jimmy and his wife, Wanda; three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Rose Lee CALDWELL, two brothers, Lindel and Windell PARKER.

She married Bobby Lee RIGGS, May 9, 1953, in Van Buren, Ark. Survivors include her husband, Bob of the home; two daughters, Sheila and Janice; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one son, Terry Lee RIGGS.

He died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, in Tulsa. Mrs. ADAMS was born March 9, 1952, in El Paso, Texas, to Royce Wayne AUMAN and Esther BLOCKER. She died Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, in Fort Smith, Ark. She married Larry Otto ADAMS, Feb. 5, 1971, in El Paso. He preceded her in death, Dec. 4, 2002, in Fort Smith. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Wayne and Pamela, Johnny and Tommie, and Tracy and Dawn; eight grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Charlie, and Sharon and Dale; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her sister Nancy.

Survivors include her husband, Cephus FINNEY of the home; two daughters, Minnie Louise, Linda and her husband, Charles; three sons, Brian, James, and Rodney and his wife, Michelle; one brother, Leoma; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. JOHNSON, Feb. 3, 1947, in Vian. He preceded her in death, June 17, 1993, in Vian.  Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Leland, and Judy and Gary; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Rex and Carrie, and Larry and Brenda; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Dixie and Jerry; one brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Fay; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Burial was in Akins Cemetery, northeast of Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. SCOGGINS was born April 17, 1933, in Morrilton, Ark., to Arlie Austin SCOGGINS Sr. and Myrtle Mae (HENDRIX) SCOGGINS. He died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, in Fort Smith, Ark. He married Fernamae Lillian ALLEN, Aug. 17, 1956, in Ventura, Calif.  Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Fern of the home two daughters, Carma and Carolyn; one son, Danny; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mary, Rosie, Hazel, Sharon and Beverly; three brothers, James, Louis and Joe; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Lorrine REESE and Doris SCOGGINS.

Mrs. SMITH died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008, in a local hospice unit. He died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, in Muldrow. Survivors include one son, Lee Roy; two brothers, Calvin and Roy; and several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Alvin TEAGUE.

He died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, in Roland. He married Hermanda Leann WHEELER, Jan. 10, 1991, in MacDonald County, Missouri. Mrs. WELCH was born Dec. 11, 1920, in Northview, to Robert Marion ASBILL and Paralee Jane (ELLISON) ASBILL. She died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, in Atoka. She married Edmond WELCH, April 1936, in Sequoyah County. He preceded her in death, May 14, 2006, in Colgate. Survivors include one daughter, Doris Jane; one son and daughter-in-law, J.M. and Shelby; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one son, Raymond Edmond WELCH and one grandson, Dennis WELCH.
