Graveside services for Ernest William BREWER, 78, of Sallisaw were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brushy Cemetery, north of Sallisaw, with the Rev. Larry Don Marley officiating. Mr. BREWER was born Oct. 8, 1922, in the Brushy Cemetery community, to Ambros and Jackie (HAYES) BREWER. He died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, in Fort Smith, Ark. He married Evelyn Inez RUSSELL Dec. 7, 1945, in Yuma, Ariz. She preceded him in death April 10, 1979. Survivors include two daughters, Debbie and Darlene; two sons, Dave and Michael; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Mr. BREWER was also preceded in death by one grandson, Kyle grant O'NEAL in 1985; seven brothers and sisters; and one granddaughter, Devana Michelle BREWER in Aug. 8, 1974.
Graveside services for Lorene HILL, 82, of Webbers Falls were held at 1 p.m. Monday at Gore Cemetery, with the Rev. Howard Glen officiating. Mrs. HILL was born Feb. 29, 1918, at McKinney, Texas, to Henry and Ethel Annie (BRYANT) SHIPMAN. She died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, at the Vian Nursing Home. She married Ed HILL August 1977, in Sallisaw. Survivors include her husband, Ed HILL of the home; her children, Mary L, Robert Dale and Sandy, Patricia I. and Edward, and Howard R. and Lou Ann; one sister, Mary Lois; one sister-in-law, Mae; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service in Webbers Falls.
Funeral services for Ula Leah Alcestes MASON, 28, of Sallisaw were held at 10 a.m. Jan. 24 2001, at Mallory Chapel in Sallisaw with the Rev. Steven Sutmiller officiating. Burial was in Akins Cemetery, northeast of Sallisaw, under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home in Sallisaw. She was born Aug. 25, 1972, in Mineral Wells, Texas, to David and Barbara (HALL) SALLEE. She died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, in Sallisaw. Survivors include three sons, David Wayne, Mickel Allen, Brian Dusty; one sister, Velma Ann; two brothers, William David and Francis Floyd Eugene; and her parents, David and Barbara. Her grandparents, William and Ula Leah Alcestes HENDREN after who she was named preceded her in death.
Elbert Lee MURRAY, 81, of Greenwood, Ark., died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, in Greenwood. He was born Nov. 1, 1919, in Oklahoma, to Robert Lee Murray and Ida Mae (PREWETT) MURRAY. Survivors include one brother, James Alfred; and several nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Direct cremation was under the direction of Agent Funeral home in Sallisaw.
Funeral services for James H. "Hap" SERRATT SR., 82, of Muldrow were held at 1 p.m. Monday at Gillham Baptist Church in Gillham, Ark. Burial was in Gillham Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith, Ark. Mr. SERRATT died Saturday, Jan 27,2001, in Fort Smith. Survivors include one daughter, Diana; one son, Harley; two sisters, Ruby, and Ila; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Mr. SERRATT was preceded in death by his wife, Genita Doris SERRATT; one sister, Ann; and two brothers, C.C. SERRATT Jr., and Oscar SERRATT.
Olin SHAFER, 70, of Roland died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, at his home. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Zion Missionary Baptist Church, with the Revs. Tom Patterson and Bill Henry officiating. Burial was in Dora Cemetery in Dora, Ark., under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith, Ark. Mr. SHAFER was born July 20, 1930, in Dora, to Ernest and Charlice (MONGOLD) SHAFER. Survivors include his wife, Ann of the home; one son, Rick; extended family he helped raise, Marilyn, Debra, and Terra; one grandchild; one foster sister, Linda; and two foster brothers, Benny and Tommy. Mr. SHAFER was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services for Judith "Judy" Ann (FIELDS) SOTH, 59, of Torrington, Wyo., were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Coyler Funeral Home in Torrington. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery in Torrington, under the direction of Coyler Funeral Home. Mrs. SOTH was born Feb. 16, 1941, in Webb City, Mo., to Woody and Roberta (BOLLS) FIELDS. She died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at the Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Neb. She married Merl SOTH Feb. 10, 1968, in Denver. Survivors include her husband, Merl of the home; one son, Warren; her mother and stepfather, Roberta and William; one brother, William Henry; and two half-brothers, Jerry and Denny. Mrs. SOTH was preceded in death by her father; and an infant son.

Burial is in Buffington Cemetery in Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. STANDRIDGE was born June 23, 1906, in Blackrock, Ark., to T.O. and Della (GASTON) JAMES. She died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, in Sallisaw. Survivors include several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Mrs. STANDRIDGE was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin STANDRIDGE in 1992; and one son Billy June STANDRIDGE.
Funeral services for Carnell Jack TAYLOR, 84, of Merced, Calif., were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of Evergreen Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Merced, with the Rev. Bob Hay officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park in Merced, under the direction of Evergreen Funeral Home in Merced. Mr. TAYLOR was born Oct. 13, 1916, in Akins, northeast of Sallisaw, to John and Carrie TAYLOR. He died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, in Merced. Survivors include his wife, Jewel Koster TAYLOR of Merced; one daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Frank; stepdaughter, Mary; eight grandchildren; one brother, Cass Tom ; and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. TAYLOR was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Noma FULLBRIGHT and Venita FARMER; and one brother, Clayton FARMER.

Mr. WAGNER was born Sept. 22, 1910, in Sebastian County, Ark., to George Washington WAGNER and Bessie (TUCKER) WAGNER. He died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001, in Broken Arrow. Survivors include one daughter, Mildred Ann; three sons, Robert Earl, Russell E., and David E.; two sisters, Roxie and Teresa; one brother, Louie B.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. WAGNER was preceded in death by his parents his wife, Mildred (BUTLER) WAGNER; one son, John WAGNER; one daughter, Mary Nell LEWIS; one grandchild, Jimmy WAGNER; three sisters; and three brothers. Luther Don WILKINS, 60, of Baxter Springs, Kan., formerly of Fort Smith, Ark., were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Ninth Street Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Smith, with the Rev. A.J. Parish officiating. Cremains will be buried at a later date in Oak Cemetery in For Smith under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary in Fort Smith. The Rev. WILKINS was born March 17, 1940, in Fort Smith, to Luther and Dorothy WILKINS. He died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, in Joplin, Mo. Survivors include one daughter, Fregina; three sons, Fred, George and Luther Jerome; his stepmother, Ethel; and 12 grandchildren. The Rev. WILKINS was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Marie WILKINS.

Burial will follow at 4 p.m. in Seabolt Cemetery in Short, under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel in Moore. The Rev. YANDELL was born Nov. 1, 1937, in Short to Luther L. HAMILTON and Ruby J. (HOOD) HAMILTON. She died Saturday, Jan.27, 2001. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Cliff and Janet and David; one son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Jolene; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, and brother-in-law, Carol and Eddie; one brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Pat; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. The Rev. YANDELL was preceded in death by her parents.

Mr. BALLINGER was born Sept. 7, 1924, in Alma, Ark., to John William BALLINGER and Maud Ann (ASKINS) BALLINGER. He died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, in Sallisaw. He married Bonnie PETREE Aug. 14, 1948, in Fort Smith, Ark. She preceded him in death April 17, 1999. Survivors include seven grandchildren, Clark Wayne Jr., Mark Lee, Christopher Thomas, Henry William, Arlena Kaylynn, Travis Greyson and Derek Daniel; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Delia, Paula and Vera; and one brother, Harold.
Funeral services for C.B. BRYANT, 61, of Muldrow will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Jesus Name Pentecostal Church in Roland, with the Revs. Owen D. Tabor and Ed O'Neal officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery, north of Roland, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Roland. Mr. BRYANT was born June 9, 1939, in Muldrow, to Samuel Carl BRYANT and Etta Mae (BARNES) BRYANT. He died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, in Muldrow. He married Leana Rose RUSSELL Dec. 27, 1986, in Fort Smith. Survivors include his wife, Leana BRYANT of the home; two sons, David and Blaine; four stepdaughters, Ruth Ann and Crystal, Jennifer and Tammy; eight grandchildren; one brother, B.W. "Bobby Wayne"; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Golden M. ELLIS, 69, of North Port, Fla., died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001. Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Venice Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Farley Funeral Home North Port Chapel. Mr. ELLIS was born April 14, 1931, in Hanson. Survivors include his wife, Betty L. ELLIS of North Port; one son, Galen M.; six daughters, Debbie G., Kimberly A., Jana, Sonya K., Dana, and Anita A.; three sisters, Vera, Bera and Jean; two brothers, Jack and Leland; 22 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. ELLIS was preceded in death by his first wife, Billie P. ELLIS.

Mr. GIRTY was born June 29, 1933, in Vian, to Frank and Bessie (HICKS) GIRTY. He died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, in Sallisaw. Survivors include his wife, Wanda of the home; six daughters, Susan, Peggy, Brenda, Linda, Elizabeth and Joan; one son, John Jr.; one sister, Wynona; two brothers, Mike and Archie Lee; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Rebecca VAILS, 87, of Hartford, Ark., died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, in a Fort Smith, Ark., hospital. Survivors include five daughters, Ruby Annie, Marggie, Nancy, Ruthie Jean, and Jackie Marie; two sons, Charlie M. and Allen Leason; 37 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Cremation was under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood, Ark. No services are scheduled.

Roark an Clara Ruth (BROCKMAN) ROARK. She died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001, in Vian. She married John Ed Cook Oct. 16, 1942, in Sallisaw. He preceded her in death Feb. 18, 2000. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Neal; one son and daughter-in-law, Lewis and Carolyn; four granddaughters; 10 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Violet, Monnie, Lois, Lillian, and Fern; and three brothers, Paul, John and Frank.

He married Marian Evelyn GETCHELL Nov. 10, 1935, in Bemidji, Minn. She preceded him in death Nov. 18, 1989. Mr. TRAMMELL was born July 22, 1940, in Gardener, Kan., to James Walter TRAMMELL and Anna May (FOWLER) TRAMMELL. He married Dixie Lorraine HANEY Jan. 9, 1959, in Kansas City, Mo. Survivors include his wife, Dixie TRAMMELL of the home; one daughter, Stephanie; two sons, Walter William and Charles Scott; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Zella and Dora; two brothers, Leon and Russell; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and other relatives. Benny Mark MARSH, 54, of Vian died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001, in Vian. He was born March 24, 1946, in Joplin, Mo., to William Mark MARSH and audrey Kelley SYNDERGARD. He married Deborah Anne JACKSON Nov. 5, 1999, in Fort Smith. Survivors include his wife, Deborah MARSH of the home; one son, Richard Allen; his mother, Audrey; and one brother, Larry. Survivors include two stepdaughters, Mary Ann and Debra Kay; two sons, Vincent M. and Joel Van; two stepsons, Richard Dibrell and James Clinton; a special cousin, Dueese; 19 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her first husband, W. BURROUGH; her second husband, Dibrell JOHNSON; and one son, Larry BURROUGH.
Helen H. STEWART LAMB, 77, of Porum died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, at her home. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Gore United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Bill Buttram and Alan McIntire officiating. Burial was in Gum Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Checotah. Mrs. LAMB was born Aug. 6, 1923, in Kay County, near Uncas, to Ray Phillip WEEKS and Mary Margaret (DAVIDSON) WEEKS. She married Gerald Boyd STEWARD Sr. July 8, 1940 in Arkansas City, Kan. He died on April 12, 1994. She married Richard LAMB on Nov. 13, 1994, in Gore. survivors include her husband, Richard W. LAMB of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Paul and Cathrine and David; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald Boyd and Patti and Jay Kenneth and wife; daughter-in-law, Karen; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Jim, Jean and Sharon; one sister and brother-in-law, Fannie and Jack; one brother, William E.; one sister-in-law, Bobbie; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Phoenix RICH, 6, of Muldrow were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Roland Hills Baptist Church, with the Rev. Don Varble officiating. Burial was in Roland City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Roland. He was born Feb. 14, 1995, in Clinton, to Scott RICH and Frances Charlene (WALLER) RICH BRISLANE. He died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include his mother, Frances of the home; his father, Scott; maternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Gladys and Frankie; maternal grandfather and step-grandmother, Clarence and Stephanie; paternal grandfather, Leon; paternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Phyllis and Charles; paternal great-grandmother, Wilma; two sisters, Shonda and Sydney; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends, including his aunt, Katherine.
Robert Emmett SEABOLT, 58, of Cedarville, Ark., died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at his home. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren, Ark. Burial was in Seabolt Cemetery, under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren. Survivors include his wife, Sheryl SEABOLT of the home; one daughter, Dana; one son, Josh; one sister, Betty; and two grandchildren.
