Graveside services for Bessie Almeda JANEWAY, of Sallisaw, were held at 2 p.m., Jan. 28, 2002, at the Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta, with Rev. Jack Vance officiating, under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home of Henryetta. She was born in Mansfield, Ark., to Willard HATTABAUGH and Mary (EASLEY) HATTABAUGH. She died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002. Survivors include two nephews, Jonny and Bobby; three nieces, Betty, Joyce, and Phyllis; and one great-great niece. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert JANAWAY; two sisters, Addie CONNORS and Izetta OWENS; and one brother, Richard HATTABAUGH.

Funeral services for Ruth LANGLEY ANDREWS, 90, of Sallisaw, are being held at 2 p.m. Feb. 7, 2002, at Agent Chapel in Sallisaw, with Rev. Dale Wendlandt officiating. Burial is in Akins Cemetery northeast of Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. She was born Sept. 9, 1911, in Franklin County, Ark. to Lawrence LANGLEY and Florence (SCOTT) LANGLEY. She died Monday, Feb. 4 2002, in Sallisaw. Mrs. ANDREWS married John Calvin ANDREW on May 12, 1939, in Sequoyah County. He preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 1971. Survivors include one daughter, Juanita; two sons, Johnnie Olan and Tommy; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wanda and Virginia; and one brother, James. She was preceded in death by one son, Paul Edward ANDREWS on April 19, 1973.
Norbert ARTFLIP, 84, of Springfield, Mo., formerly of Sallisaw, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, in Springfield. Burial of Cremains will be in Akins Cemetery northeast of Sallisaw, at a later date, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. He was born Apr. 15 1917, in Pleasant Township, Iowa, to Clarnece ARTLIP and Kate (SCHAEFFER) ARTLIP. He married Carolyn Leona KOBERT on May 27, 1939, in Nebraska. She preceded him in death on Oct. 3, 1996. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and James; two sons and daughters-in-law, Norbert O. and Charolette and Phillip D. and Sharon; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Grace, Kathryne and Joyce. He was also preceded in death by one grandchild.

Burial was in Harmony Cemetery in Clarksville, under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville. She died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, in Country Side Manor Nursing Home. Survivors include two daughters, Dianne and Marcia; four sons, Dennis and Michael and James and Scott; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Beth and Alma. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert THURLOW and Estelle McMILLAN BASKIN; husband, Clarence "Jr." BEAN; one sister, Wilma BASKIN; one grandson, Brian Keith BEAN.

She was born Aug. 25, 1918, in Cherokee County, to Levi BULLETT and Sally Tail (CHRISTIE) BULLETT. She died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, in Tahlequah. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Tom BUSH of the home; one daughter, Phyllis; four sons, Don, Jerry, Jackie and Dee; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two half-brothers, Issac and Tommy; one half-sister, Susie; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two sons, Nelson Ray and Timmy BUSH and one brother Robert BULLETT.

Mr. CASTEEL was born Feb. 15, 1937, in Antlers to E.E. CASTEEL and Willie Faye (JOHNSON) CASTEEL. He died Monday, Feb 4, 2002 in Fort Smith, Ark. He married Lenetha Mae TANKSLEY on Nov. 9, 1972, in Amarillo, Tex. Survivors include his wife, Lenetha of the home; one daughter, Rita; one son, Gary; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his parents; two brothers, Russell and Jack; and several other relatives and friends, including his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gerald and Karen.
Funeral services for Catherine CHAPMAN HELLER, 49, of Muldrow, were held at 1 p.m., Feb. 5, 2002, at the Mallory Chapel in Sallisaw with Rev. Leroy Reid officiating. Burial will be Feb. 8, 2002, in Columbia Cemetery, in Columbia, Mo., under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Sallisaw. She was born Dec. 23, 1952, in Wickford, R.I., to Robert Wm CHAPMAN and Marion (SHEA) CHAPMAN. She died Feb. 1, 2002, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include her husband, Jon HELLER of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, John and his wife Tonya; three step-daughters, Jennifer, Bonna and Keri; two grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; three brothers, John, Dennis and Jim. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Bobby Wm. CHAPMAN.

Private Interment services for Inez S. STEWART, 98, of St. Paul, Minn., formerly of Muldrow, will be held at Long Cemetery at a later date. She died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002. Survivors include her grandchildren, Scott and Janice, Jerry, Gary and Dean; seven great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends including Lou and Geneva. She was preceded in death by her husband George STEWART; and one son Donald STEWART and his wife Marie.

WARE on Sept. 1, 1942 in St. Paul. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Dolores of the home; two daughters, Virginia and Janet; one son, Jon and his wife Shari; four grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Burial of Cremains of David Roy LONG, 50, of Fort Smith, Ark., will be at U.S. National Cemetery at a later date, under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith. Mr. LONG was born Feb. 4, 1951, in Fort Smith. He died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, in his home. Survivors include one daughter, Francis Jo; his grandparents, Louise; one sister, Cathy; three half-sisters, Tracy, Karen and Cathy; and two half brothers, Mike and Jerry.

THOMPSON on March 5, 1960, in Franklinville. Survivors include three sons, Freed and his wife Connie, Alfred and Danny; one daughter, Joyce and her husband Robert; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy and Alice. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel B. ANDERSON; her parents; and her brothers.

Survivors include her husband Waddie of the home; six sons, Waddie Jr. and Larry, Monroe "Bo", Dosson, Walter Jim and Raymond Dean; two daughter, Tish and Carolyn; 29 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two sons, Charles and Junior and two daughters, Mildred and Imogene.

KITZMILLER of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Lee Ann and her husband Charlie; one son-in-law, Chuck; four grandchildren; four sisters, June, Wanalu and Carol Sue and Jerry. She was born Jan. 14, 1915, in Steadman to Edward Vontreese MONTGOMERY and Frances Catherine (WHITLEY) MONTGOMERY. She died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, in Vian. Mrs. THORNTON married Frank A. THORNTON on Oct. 28, 1937, in Vian. He preceded her in death in September 1965. Survivors include two sons, Frank and David; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Victor; and several other relatives and friends. Mrs. THORNTON was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Catherine ADAMS; and seven brothers and sisters.

Burial was in Box Cemetery north of Vian, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. She was born Jan. 2, 1907, in Holbert, to Jess BYNUM and Martha Jane (WATKINS) BYNUM. She died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, in Gore. Mrs. BOOKER married Nick BOOKER on Apr. 27, 1927, in Antlers. He preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 1963. Survivors include four daughters, Rene, June, Lola and Debby; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Lola; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Maureen KNEIPPLE in Sept. of 1983; four brothers; and three sisters.

She died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, in Sallisaw. She married Rev. Charles Leland DAVIS on April 27, 1944, in Buffington. Survivors include her husband, Rev. Charley L. DAVIS of the home; four daughters, Anna Lee, Ruth Ann, Rachel Elizabeth and Mary; two sons, Dr. Charley L. Jr. and John Paul; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, in Muskogee. Mrs. HENDRIX married Joe E. HENDRIX on June 24, 1946, in Sallisaw. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Wilma Doris and Richard, two granddaughters, JoNita and her husband Steve and Nancy and her husband George; six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Jerene. She was preceded in death by her husband; and seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services for Wayne KINSEY, 70, of Muldrow, are being held at 2 p.m., Thursday, at the Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, with Rev. Duke Bennett and Dr. Neal Prock officiating. Burial was in Old Bokoshe Cemetery in Bokoshe, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau. He was born on Nov. 2, 1931. He died Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, in Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Betty KINSEY of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Gary and his wife, Tina, Steve D. and his wife Cindy, and Randy and his wife Barbara; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; four step-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Sue and her husband Ronnie; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Gaylon and Virginia, Don and Sue, Herman and Linda and Robert; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Odis and Mattie KINSEY; one brother, Jackie KINSEY; and one sister, Thelma GREEN.
Funeral services for Kenneth D. KNOX, 42, of Warner, were held at 10 a.m., Feb. 27, 2002, at the Millsap Funeral Chapel in Webbers Falls, with Rev. Edward Hyslope officiating. Burial was in Warner Memorial Cemetery, under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls. He was born Sept. 19, 1959, in Muskogee, to Ned Berlin KNOX and Shirley (ARCHER) KNOX. He died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002. Survivors include two sons, Jack and Brian; two daughters, Shawna and Kacey; one step-daughter, Rebecca; his mother, Shirley MANNON; one sister, Debbie; his grandmother and step-grandfather, Marie and Jack KELLEY; two nephews; one niece; four aunts, Nina, Betty, Evelyn and Stella; and one uncle Leon.
Funeral services for Leland Floyd LEIGH, 78, of Mt. Vernon, Ind. formerly of Sallisaw, were held at 10 a.m., Feb. 13, 2002, at the Austin Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, with burial in Bellefontaine Cemetery in Mt. Vernon with military rites, under the direction of Austin Funeral Home of Mt. Vernon. He died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at New Harmonie Health Care. Survivors include his wife, Martha Jean LEIGH of Mt. Vernon, Ind.; one daughter, Leann; one son, Steven E.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Kenneth and C.L. He was preceded in death by one son, Keith OVERTON.

J. and Paul "Bud" Jr. She was preceded in death by her previous husband, Richard NOLAN.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Twana QUALLS of the home; one daughter, Debra; one son, Terry; four grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara and Roxann; two brothers, Don and Paul Jerry; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Burial was in Buffington Cemetery in Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. She was born Mar. 9, 1921, in Sallisaw, to Oscar Leroy "Buck" WILSON and Nellie Edna (LONG) WILSON. She died Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, in Sallisaw. She married George Washington TAYLOR on May 25, 1939, in Sallisaw. He preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 1970. Survivors include five sons, Richard Lee, Tommy Ray Sr. and Jimmy Harold, Johnny Carroll and Billy Wayne; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one sisters, Louise; and two brothers, Bobby Gene, and Donald Ray. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Kenneth James TAYLOR on May 21, 1999; and two brothers, Howard L. WILSON and Billy Joe WILSON.

She was born May 27, 1931, in Caney community, to Brooks ANDERS and Arla Ann (HUNTLY) ANDERS. She died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, in Muskogee. Survivors include four daughters, Faye, Linda, Debbie and Myrna; two sons, Bill and Randy; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five sisters, Minnie, Bertie, Delores, Belva and Carolyn; and other relatives and friends including her ex-husband and companion, Willis CARROL of the home. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Allen BAIRD; her parents; one granddaughter, Stacey Denise FIELDS; and two sisters, Jane EADS and Virginia ANDERS.
