Graveside services for Clark Wayne BALLINGER Sr., 48, of Sallisaw will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Upper Camp Creek Cemetery, northeast of Muldrow. Mr. BALLINGER was born Oct. 11, 1949, in Sallisaw, to George William BALLINGER and Bonnie Versia (PETREE) BALLINGER. He died Monday, Jan. 12, 1998, in Sallisaw. Survivors include one daughter, Arlene; three sons, Clark Wayne, Mark Lee and Travis Grayson; one step-daughter Amy Michelle; nine grandchildren; and his parents G. W. and Bonnie BALLINGER. Mr. BALLINGER was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Kay BROYLES in 1980. Arrangements are under the direction of Agents Funeral Home in Sallisaw.
Funeral services for Iva Hazel CANTRELL, 94, of West Monroe, La., formerly of Sallisaw were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Seventh Day Adventist Church in Sallisaw, with Gilbert Green and George Ellis Jr. officiating. Burial was in Drakestand Cemetery under the direction of Wheeler Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. CANTRELL was born Aug. 13, 1903, in Vian, Indian Territory, to Jess RANDALL. She died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998, in West Monroe. She married Walter CANTRELL Nov. 23, 1923, in Vian. He preceded her in death July 18, 1981. Survivors include one daughter, Catherine ; one grandson, Rick; one granddaughter, Donna; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. CANTRELL was also preceded in death by one son, Glendon in 1931, and one granddaughter, Rhonda MCPHAIL in 1992.
Funeral services for Barbara Kay COVINGTON, 45, of Sallisaw were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Church of the Nazarene in Sallisaw, with the Rev. Jim Armstrong officiating. Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. COVINGTON was born March 5, 1952, in Vian, to Carl and Maggie Oleta (SIZEMORE) PATTERSON. She died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, in Fort Smith, Ark. She married Carl Edward COVINGTON Aug. 27, 1969, in Sallisaw. Survivors include her husband, Carl COVINGTON of the home; one daughter, Karie Lynn; two sons, Robert Edward and Randy Dwayne; four grandchildren; her mother, Maggie PATTERSON; and two brothers, Bobby and Fred.
Funeral Services for May Beth GESKE, 36,
of Greenwood, Ark., formerly of Lavaca, Ark., were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday
at Lavaca First Baptist Church. Burial was in the U. S. National Cemetery
in Fort Smith, Ark., under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood.
Mrs. GESKE died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1998, in a Fort Smith hospital. Survivors
include her husband, Charles "Chuck" GESKE of the home; one daughter, Nichole;
one son, Josh; grandmother, Neva BREWER; step-mother, Freida ; three sisters,
Becky, Linda and Kathy; two step-sisters, Aquitta and Wanda; one brother,
Mitch and two step-brothers, Randy and Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for D. Alton GEAN Sr.,
93, of Siloam Springs, Ark., are being held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Agent
Chapel in Sallisaw, with Dr. J. D. Ward officiating. Burial is in Sallisaw
City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mr.
GEAN was born Aug. 10, 1904, in Lafayette, Miss., to Walter Diggs GEAN and
Roxie Ann (PEARS) GEAN. He died Monday, Jan. 12, 1998, in Siloam Springs.
He married Ferrell Juanita ELLIS in 1924 in Memphis, Tenn. She preceded him
in death July 25, 1986. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, David
Alton Jr. and Nell ; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, David Alton 3rd
and Sherry; two sisters, Eva Lois and Frances Ruth; and several nieces, nephews
and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Rubye Edith MCDOLE, 79, of Brawley, Calif., formerly of Muldrow, were held at 1 p.m. Jan. 6 at Frye Chapel in Brawley, with the Rev. Doug Dickson of United Methodist Church of Holtville officiating. Burial was in River Park Cemetery in Brawley. Mrs. MCDOLE was born May 4, 1918, in Gans. She died Saturday, Jan. 3, 1998, in her home. She married Clabe MCDOLE Sept. 10, 1936, in Arkansas. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Carolyn; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanie and Jim; and Molly and Ray ; one brother Lee; one sister Ruth; 10 grandchildren,; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Clabe MCDOLE, in April 1981, and three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services for Cleo PERRY, 90, of
Sallisaw were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Church of Christ in Sallisaw,
with Bro. Royce Martin and Bro. Greg Perry officiating. Burial was in Drake
Stand Cemetery, southwest of Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Funeral
Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. PERRY was born May 28, 1907, in Granite, Ark., to
Boyd and Dora (LETTS) LANGHAM. She died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 1998, in Sallisaw.
She married Earl PERRY Nov. 18, 1924, in Sallisaw. Survivors include three
daughters, Nadine, Norma and Carolyn; one son, Harland; nine grandchildren;
eight great-grandchildren; and one sister Laverne.
Funeral services for John ROWE, 90, of Gore are being held at 10 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Gore, with the Rev. Bill Buttram officiating. Burial is in Gore City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mr. ROWE was born June 20, 1907, in Olustee community, Greer District, Oklahoma Indian Territory, to Benjamin Franklin "Frank" ROWE and Susan Harriett "Hattie" (DURRETT) ROWE. He died Sunday, Jan. 11, 1998, in Muskogee. Survivors include one sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Bert; 10 nieces, and seven nephews; Mr. ROWE was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Lillie ROWE BEDWELL in 1947, two brothers, Robert ROWE in 1962 and Slaten ROWE in 1991, one niece, Vivian STEWART, and one nephew, Albert BEDWELL.
Funeral services for Dortha SLOAN, 84, of Plano, Texas, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Assembly of God Church in Plano, with the Rev. Leonard Allgood officiating. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Akins Cemetery, under the direction of Turrentine-Jackson-Marrow Funeral Directors in McKinney, Texas. Mrs. SLOAN was born March 18, 1913, in Akins to William and Sarah (SPEAR) GROSE. She died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998, in Plano. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Rick, and Franciele and Frank; one son and daughter-in-law, Seagle and Angel; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Jean; one brother Wayne; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Mrs. SLOAN was preceded in death by four brothers, Cecil, Robert, Herby and Glen GROSE.
Funeral services for Hazel Gertrude WELCH, 84, of Pulaski, Tenn., formerly of Sallisaw, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Agent Chapel in Sallisaw, with he Rev. Troy Tanksleary officiating. Burial will be in Marble City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. WELCH was born Nov. 6, 1913, in Marble City, to Roy Ira COCHRAN and Hattie Leone (OGDEN) COCHRAN. She died Monday, Jan. 12, 1998, in Nashville, Tenn. She married Robert Huey WELCH Oct. 31, 1932, in Marble City. He preceded her in death Dec. 11, 1973. Survivors include one daughter, Telsie; three sons, Robert Dale, George I. and E. Tom; 19 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

81, of Sallisaw will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Agent Chapel in Sallisaw,
with the Rev. J. D. Ward officiating. Burial will be in Sallisaw City Cemetery,
under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. WISE was born
Jan. 10, 1917, in Thayer, Mo., to Charlie and Etta ( PILAND) HOLLOWAY. She
died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 1998, in Fort Smith, Ark. She married Dale Alvin WISE
July 11, 1936, in Jay. Survivors include her husband, Dale WISE of the home;
one daughter and son-in-law, Jean Ann and Tom; three grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren. Mrs. WISE was preceded in death by one daughter, Sarah
Lou JONES in 1994, and six brothers and sisters.
