Erma Jean BURGESS of Vian was born on June 9, 1945, to Clyde and Freddie (HERSHEY) McNAMEE, and passed away on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, in Vian at the age of 67. She married Eddie BURGESS on Sept. 9, 1967. She is survived by her husband, Eddie of the home; one son, Michael and his wife, Beatrice of Haskell; one daughter, Kellie ROGERS and husband, Allen of Pocola; three sisters, Elmyra MORRISON and husband, Johnny of Muskogee, Velma ZACHARY of Webbers Falls and Blanche McNAMEE of Vian; three brothers, David McNAMEE of Muskogee, Clyde McNAMEE Jr. of Haskell and Fred McNAMEE and his wife, Shelly of Tamaha; and four grandchildren, Brooklyn and Keisha MORRIS and Deavon PHILLIPS and Michah THOMAS. Erma was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Howard, Dale and Billy McNAMEE; and one sister, Joyce McNAMEE. She loved to garden, fish and hunt. Pallbearers are Sean Zachery, Duane Malcolm, Louis Bland, Johnny Ellis, Archie Johnson, and Greg Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are her nephews. Flower girls are her nieces. Funeral services for Marie SMITH ECHOLS, 90, of Sallisaw are being held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at the Agent-Mallory-Martin Chapel in Sallisaw with the Rev. Vernon Stone officiating. Burial is at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. ECHOLS was born on July 21, 1922, in Carlisle to Robert Lee SMITH Sr. and Minnie Ann (CRAIG) SMITH. She died on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, in Sallisaw. She was a secretary and homemaker. She married Chester Lee ECHOLS on Aug. 4, 1946. He preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 2012. Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Lee SMITH of Sallisaw; and one sister, Nina WHITE of Tulsa. She was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers and sisters, Vannie TAYLOR, Lelis SMITH, Sylvia STINNETT, Glendean APPLEBY and R.L. SMITH Jr.

Funeral services for Carl Edward FRY, 74, of Muldrow are being held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Mineral Springs Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Fields officiating. Burial is at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith, Ark., under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith. Mr. FRY was born on June 15, 1938, in Fort Smith to Tony and Hascel (SPAULDING) FRY. He died on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012. He married Joyce Ellen TAYLOR in 1959. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, he traveled the rodeo circuit, both as a cowboy and a clown, participating in the Old Fort Days Cowboy Reunions, served several terms as the mayor of Big Cabin, owned a restaurant, and was an OTR trucker. Hobbies including raising cattle, chasing chicken, attending auctions, gardening, playing with the grandchildren and operating the family trucking business. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Joyce FRY; three children, Karla MARVIN and Jane HOVIOUS, both of Van Buren, Ark., and Grant FRY of Big Cabin; one brother, David of Muldrow; two sisters, Wilma STORMES of Albany, Ga. and Mary DAVID of Greenwood, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several other family members and friends. Pallbearers are Donnie Krug, Fred Miller, Charles Smith, Josh Blackman, Greg Howard, Coy Pruitt and Larry Lux.

Burial is at Roland City Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Muldrow. Mrs. LOCKWOOD was born on Aug. 30, 1928, in Ozark, Ark., to Clifford NICHOLS and Susie Marie (TEDFORD) NICHOLS. She died on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, in Roland. She was a seamstress for Ayers Furniture. She married Hial Parker LOCKWOOD on Feb. 17, 1951, in Van Buren, Ark. He preceded her in death on July 27, 2011. Survivors include two sons, Calvin LOCKWOOD and Myron LOCKWOOD, both of Roland; five sisters, Mae BARNES of Russellville, Ark., Dena SMITH, Aberdean, Miss., Mary HURST of Fort Smith, Ark., Helen EMBERTON of Mountainburg, Ark., and Sharon HIGFILL of Ozark; one brother, Harlan NICHOLS of Altus, Ark.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. David Wayne YOUNG, 71, of Vian passed away on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was born Sept. 25, 1941, in Vian to A.C. “Clifton” YOUNG and Ethel Evelyn (COURTNEY) YOUNG. He graduated from Vian High School and attended Connors State College and Northeastern State University. He then served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He was a retired pipefitter and a member of Plumbers and Pipefitter’s Local 430 in Tulsa. Since he retired, he raised black angus cattle, spoiled grandchildren and spent time with friends. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 120 in Sallisaw, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. Daivd married his wife, Jessie, of 44 years, on July 22, 1968. He is survived by his wife, Jessie of the home; one daughter, Dr. Carla YOUNG of Southlake, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Lt. Billy YOUNG and wife, Kimberly of Smithfield, Va.; six grandchildren, David YOUNG II, Jeremy YOUNG, Daniel LUNDSTRP, Lilly LUNDSTROM, Jake LUNDSTROM and Dakota PATRICK; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Glenda JOHNSON YOUNG of Vian and A.C. YOUNG Jr. and Glenda WILLOUGHBY YOUNG of Bunker Hill, W.V.; and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, David Keith YOUNG; one brother, William “Bill” YOUNG; and two sisters, Bonnie KVIDERA and Judy McHENRY. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Vian Baptist Church. Burial will be at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ark., under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday. She died on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark. She was a cook. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, James CHILDERS and wife, Jane of Fort Smith, Wayne CHILDERS and wife, Leigh Ann and Mark CHILDERS and wife, Tatia, all of Gans; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna BELT and husband, Roger of Nicut and Sherry LUTTRELL and husband, Gerald of Vian; one brother, Jim JONES of Roland; one sister, Betty HEARD of Shreveport, La.; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She died on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, in Sallisaw. She was a homemaker. She married Donald Charles JACKSON on June 3, 1959, in Sallisaw. Survivors include her husband, Donald C. She married Charles Leroy JONES on May 4, 1964, in Stilwell. Survivors include her husband, Charles of the home; one daughter, Pamela STUDDARD of Mountain Home, Ark.; three sons, Michael JONES of Spokane, Wash., Randall JONES of Conway, Ark., and David JONES of Muldrow; two sisters, Geraldean RUSSELL of Redland and Clara ROGERS of Muldrow; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. MOORE was born on Oct. 12, 1927, in Muldrow to Roy Ernest BROWN and Ruby Pauline (HAYWOOD) BROWN. She died on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, in Roland. She worked for Wortz Biscuit Company for 42 years. Survivors include one son, Jimmie MOORE of Roland; one brother, Leroy BROWN of Kansas City, Kan.; one sister, Virginia CHANDLER of Muldrow; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Orin MOORE in 1989; her parents; two sisters, Patsy HUGHES and Nina RUSSELL; and one brother, Damon BROWN.

Mrs. PILANT was born on Sept. 4, 1919, in Sallisaw to Oscar Lewis STEPHENS and Mattie (STEWART) STEPHENS. She died on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, in Tulsa. She was a homemaker. She married Troy Earl PILANT on Sept. 14, 1984, in Sallisaw. He preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 2010. Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Ruth REED of Sallisaw and Carolyn Fostine MEYERS of Tulsa; one stepson, Steven Wayne PILANT of Owasso; one brother, H.E. “Tank” STEPHENS of Vian; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Robert Eugene STEELE, 88, of Gans died on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, in a local hospital. No formal service is planned at this time. Cremation is under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren, Ark. Mr. STEELE was a retired civil service mechanic, an Army veteran of World War II and of the Pentecostal faith. Survivors include one daughter, Darlene GRAVLIN and husband, John of Las Vegas, Nev.; four sisters, Lucy TACKITT of Missouri, Mary TACKITT of California, Barbara STAPLES of Oklahoma and Virginia WISEMAN of Mississippi; one brother, Kenneth STEELE of Gans; and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dortha STEELE; and three sons, Robert Lee STEELE, Jimmy Don STEELE and Larry STEELE.

Mrs. WILSON was born on Sept. 4, 1914, in Bloomer, Ark., to Jess Lee COOK and Laura Naomi (DURHAM) COOK. She died on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark. She was a homemaker and worked at Gerber Foods for 11 years. She married Tommy Lee WILSON on June 27, 1937, in Barber, Ark. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1994. Survivors include four sons, Tommy K. WILSON of Stilwell, Steve WILSON of Liberty and Bruce and Randy WILSON, both of Roland; two daughters, Colleen PHILLIPS of Siloam Springs, Ark., and Rosemary STOUT of Muldrow; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one son, Mitchell WILSON; one daughter, Lou Jean TOMLIN; her parents; seven brothers; and two sisters. Richard Lee “Rick” WRIGHT, 51, of Mountainburg, Ark., died on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012. No formal service is planned at this time. Cremation is under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren, Ark. Mr. WRIGHT was a welder. Survivors include his father, Robert WRIGHT of Cedar Park, Texas (formerly of Mountainburg); one son, Rick WRIGHT of Clinton, Ark.; two sisters, Rhonda TANNER and husband, Kevin of Cedar Park and Patricia HAWKINS and husband, Jeff of Orem, Utah; and one brother-in-law, Terry MOORMAN of Mountainburg. Mrs. CASH was born on Oct 2, 1936, in Braggs to Earl and Lena Ella (TRANTHAM) MARLOW. She died on Sunday, Jan 6, 2013, in Muskogee. She was a graduate of Porum High School and a lifelong resident of the area. Prior to retirement she worked as a meat wrapper. She married Joe CASH on July 8, 1980, in Fort Gibson. Stillman CONNACHER, 64, of Muldrow died on Friday, Jan 4, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was born on Aug 23, 1948, in Houston, Texas to Robert CONNACHER and Mary Frances (ROACH) CONNACHER GLASS. No formal service is planned at this time. Cremation is under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. He was a vending machine repairman. Survivors include three daughters; and several other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son; and one brother.

Dr Michael Wayne FARMER, of Sallisaw was born on April 5, 1957, to James Virgil and Mary Elizabeth (ROSS) FARMER, and passed away on Saturday, Jan 5, 2013, in Sallisaw at the age of 55. He graduated from OU and was a Board Certified Emergency Room Specialist Doctor. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. He is survived by his father, James Virgil FARMER of Sallisaw; three brothers, James Leo FARMER and wife Shiree, Stephen FARMER and wife Janet, and Barry FARMER and wife Nichole, all of Sallisaw; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; his love of his live, his Jack Russell Terrier "Rosie". He was preceded in death by his mother. Funeral services will be 2 p m Thursday, Jan 10, 2013, at Eastside Baptist Church in Sallisaw with Wayne Taylor officiating. Alpha Lee TAYLOR McKINNEY was born on Oct 26, 1924, to Bill TAYLOR and Walcy (TURNER) TAYLOR in the Bluff community, near Sallisaw. She passed this life on Thursday, Jan 3, 2013, in Sallisaw, after reaching the age of 88 years. She married the love of her life, Wayne McKINNEY, on Jan 31, 1942, after dating for only three weeks. They were married 55 years until his death in 1997. She is survived by five children, Robert McKINNEY and wife, Myrna of Claremore, Mike McKINNEY and wife, Linda, Deborah MATTHEWS and Dianne RHOADES and husband, Eddy, all of Sallisaw and Mark McKINNEY and wife, Cindy of Owasso; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Marie (TAYLOR) TIMMERMAN. Alpha was a beautiful person. She loved cooking and gardening, but her greatest love was her family. Funeral services were 10:30 am Tuesday, Jan 8, 2013, at the Watts Holiness Church, southwest of Sallisaw, with the Rev Terry Guthrie officiating. Mrs. PEREGO was born on July 12, 1940, in Vian to Jim LOWE and Addie Delores (GLASS) LOWE.. She died on Saturday, Jan 5, 2013, in Vian. She was a homemaker. She married Donald PEREGO on April 28, 1961, in Sapulpa. Billy Joe ROBERTS, 79, of Vian died on Friday, Jan 4, 2013, in Vian. He was born on March 6, 1933, in Green Forest, Ark., to John William ROBERTS and Nellie Laura (RHODES) ROBERTS. He married Beatrice TWIST on April 28, 1961, in Springdale, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Bea ROBERTS of the home; one son, Billy Galen ROBERTS of Wichita, Kan.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and five sisters.

Kimberly Ann ROSENBAUM was born on April 3, 1967, in Oklahoma City and passed this life on Friday, Jan 4, 2013, in Sallisaw at the age of 45. Kim loved her family, her dogs and her horses. She was an avid horse rider and loved to compete in barrel racing. At one time she was ranked 13th in the Wold Championship Barrel Racing Futurity in Fort Smith, Ark. She graduated high school in Rockwall,. Texas and worked as a licensed court reporter in Lawton, where she met her husband Alan. They married on April 7, 1990, in Oklahoma City. Survivors are her husband, Alan ROSENBAUM of Sallisaw; two daughters, Laurie THORNTON and Sharla FINLEY; granddaughter, Natalie ROSENBAUM; her mother, Linda GASKILL of Fort Smith; one sister, Gaila ROSS; one niece, Hannah ROSS of Durant; her grandmother, Billie CROCKET of Fort Smith; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, W C MEANS; her grandfather, Freeman E GARRETT; and grandparents, Wilson and Ila MEANS. She was retired from Baldor Electric. She loved to play dominoes, go shopping and was known for her cake decorating. She also love to quilt and garden. She was a former hairdresser. She leaves to mourner passing three daughters, Sandra HARROLD of Baytown, Texas, Janette PRESLER of Independence, Mo. and Denita WALTERS of Mililani, Hawaii; two step-daughters, Pam WEBB and Brenda WALTERS, both of Sallisaw; one son Stephen HARROLD of Crosby, Texas; one brother, Ronald HARVEY of Sperry; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dewey; an infant daughter, Sheila; one sister, Ruth Marie ESKEW; and one brother, Wallace Clifford HARVEY. Larry Dwight OSBURN, 57, of Pocola was born on Aug. 26, 1955, in Sallisaw. He died on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, in Fort Smith, Ark. No formal service is planned at this time. Cremation is under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith. He was a former limousine builder and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, LaGail of the home; two daughters, Amanda and Christy OSBURN, both of Fort Smith; three sons, Sean OSBURN of Pocola, Jesse OSBURN of Roland and Willy OSBURN of Fort Smith; and eight grandchildren.

Jacob Arthur PECK, known by his friends as “Jake” was born on Feb. 9, 1949, in Fort Worth, Texas and left this life on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at the age of 63 years. He was the son of Gene and Mildred PECK. Jake served two tours of duty on the Mekong River in Vietnam on a Navy patrol boat. He worked for Parker Drilling and Tri-State Drilling Company, traveling all over the United States. He married Marla MAIDEN in 1990 and soon after moved to Liberty, Oklahoma where he became General Farm Manager for Willow Creek Farms and was a much loved member of the community, ready to help any and everyone in their time of need. As a volunteer fireman for the Liberty Fire Department he helped save many homes and lives. Jake is survived by his wife, Marla and son, Ethan of the home; son Oliver of Dallas, Texas; and daughter, Leslie and grandson Jacob of Houston, Texas; his brothers Larry of Weatherford, Texas, Bob of San Antonio, Texas and Dennis of Dallas. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tom PECK of Houston and his parents. Pallbearers were Bill O’Neal, Larry George, Butch Floyd, Buddy Spradlin, John Paul Buie and Roger Dean. Honorary pallbearers were the members of the Liberty Volunteer Fire Department. Joyce Adair BACHUS, 79, formerly of Sand Springs passed away on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, in Tulsa. She was born to Kinnie ADAIR and Ola Marie (ESTES) ADAIR on May 25, 1933, in Stilwell. Lenora COLEMAN, formerly of Blue, Okla., passed away at Roland, Okla., on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at 77 years of age. She was born on April 21, 1935, in Morton, Texas to Homer and Ollie (HENDERSON) GRAY. She married Troy COLEMAN on Sept. 21, 1981, in Green River, Wyo. Johnie Leon “John” CRAWFORD, longtime resident of Owasso, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at the age of 66. John was born on Feb. 28, 1946, in Wewoka to Roy Lee and Billie Jo (HOUSE) CRAWFORD. He was raised by his stepfather Wesley ROSS, whom he always considered his daddy. John was raised in Sallisaw where he attended school and graduated from Sallisaw High School. On Oct. 12, 1968, he and Betty LOUX were united in marriage. To this union, two children were born. Following their marriage, they made their home in Sallisaw before moving to Tulsa, then to Owasso in 1977. John was a member of the Owasso Masonic Lodge No. 545 and the Tulsa Akdar Shrine. At the time of his retirement, he was a safety manager for Ingersoll Rand. Those that survive include his wife, Betty of the home; children, John W. CRAWFORD and wife, Michelle of Broken Arrow and Amy VICTORY and husband, Roy of Owasso. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Mitchell BROWN, Aidan and Lauren VICTORY; as well as siblings Jerry CRAWFORD, Joe ROSS, Walter ROSS, Ellen STOVALL, David ROSS and Susan HOWARD, all of Sallisaw. John was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Ricky ROSS. John enjoyed restoring old cars, talking about cars, and collecting car parts. He also enjoyed smoking bologna, whittling and spending time with friends and family, including his best friend of 55 years, Glen WHITWORTH of Tulsa. The light of his life was his grandchildren. He was the best Paw a kid could ask for. Even as his health was failing he did everything he could to show love to his grandchildren, including watching cartoons with them every afternoon while they were perched on his lap. He was very proud that his oldest grandson, Mitchell, is joining the Marines this year. John was a loyal friend and brother who was famous for telling jokes and stories. One had to know John a long time before they ever heard the same story twice. Steven Keith officiating. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ark. under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Muldrow. Mr. FLETCHER was born on May 12, 1931, in Muldrow to Lewis FLETCHER and Jane (CONLEY) FLETCHER. He died on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, in Muldrow. He married Doris ROBERTS on Oct. 5, 1953, in Fort Smith. Survivors include his wife, Doris FLETCHER of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patti RHODES and Tori RANSON, both of Muldrow; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Ella Fern FELICE; and three brothers, Billy, Denver and Bobby. Pallbearers were Joe Fate Ransom, Clayton Rhodes, Jaime Fletcher, Rocky Fletcher, Richard Felice and Denny Fletcher.

Funeral services for Ella Mae HAMILTON, 91, of Flower Hill were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at the Mallory-Martin Chapel in Spiro. Burial was at Old Cache Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro. Mrs. HAMILTON was born on Jan. 19, 1922, in Nubbin Ridge to Brad MEADOWS and Novice (ALTMAN) MEADOWS. She died on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, in Tulsa. She was a homemaker. Survivors include one daughter, Helen FOX of Tulsa; one son, Jackie Don HAMILTON and wife, Pat of Tulsa; one sister, Bertha of California; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and six step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Dempsey HAMILTON; two sisters; and three brothers. Pallbearers were Mike Fox, Jeff Hamilton, Jack Fox and Ronnie Broom.

Mark A. PHILLIPS, 37, of Sallisaw passed away on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was born on May 8, 1975, in Fort Smith, the son of James PHILLIPS and Judy (HENDRIX) PHILLIPS. He was married to Monaca BREWER on Dec. 11, 2012, in Sallisaw. Mark was a 1993 graduate of Sallisaw High School. He loved football, especially the San Francisco 49ers and NASCAR. His entire world was his daughter, Shania. He was a loving and devoted father, husband, son, brother and friend. Survivors are his wife, Monaca of the home; one daughter, Shania PHILLIPS of the home; two stepdaughters, Robin and Michaela WILSON, of the home; one stepson, Hunter POINDEXTER of the home; one sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Ron TAYLOR of Sallisaw; one brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Tammy PHILLIPS of Sallisaw; his parents, Judy and James PHILLIPS of Sallisaw; one niece, Courtney THOMAS of Sallisaw; three nephews, Dakota and John POINDEXTER and Triston THOMAS, all of Sallisaw; and other relatives and many beloved co-workers and friends. Mr. PHILPOT was born on Sept. 8, 1940, in Hanson to Arnold Lee PHILPOT and Millie (MERRILLl) PHILPOT. He died on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was a private investigator for Pinkerton Security. He married Rosa Lee MORRISON on Sept. 19, 1986, in Van Buren, Ark. She preceded him in death on June 9, 2011. Survivors include two daughters, Teresa NOACK of Clovis, N.M. and Lee Ann PHILPOT of Roland; and one grandchild. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Joyce Ann PHILPOT and Wilma FLOYD. Pallbearers will be Chris Willett, Larry Apker, Travis Apker, Stan Philpot and Johnny Philpot.

Burial was at Marble City Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. POINDEXTER was born on June 30, 1949, in Fort Smith, Ark., to V. KYLE and Lagena Ruth (CHEATHAM) KYLE. She died on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, in Fort Smith. She was an administrative assistant for Oklahoma State Agriculture, Food and Forestry. She married Pauley Wayne POINDEXTER on Nov. 23, 1971, in Norman. He preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 2005. Survivors include one daughter, Zora WILHITE of Stilwell; two sons, Paul POINDEXTER and Clinton POINDEXTER, both of Sallisaw; two sisters, Ruthann WAMPACH and Shirley CRAWFORD, both of Sallisaw; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Sammy KYLE. Pallbearers were Paul Poindexter, Eddie Wilhite, Josh Poindexter, Isaac Poindexter, J.W. Whilhite and Jacob Gibson.

Winnie Grace ROBINSON, 88, of Sallisaw was born on Sept. 26, 1924, in Paris, Texas to Essie Johnson Gray. She died on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, in Sallisaw. No formal service is planned at this time. Cremation is under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. She was a homemaker. Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Kay BRAZELL and Karen WHITTLESEY, both of Sallisaw; one son, Jesse Ray ROBINSON of Burnsville, N.C.; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Raymond ROBINSON; her parents; one son, Jerry ROBINSON; two grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters, Alvin, Arthur, Hoss, Jerry, Mildred and Vivian “Toots.”

Jerry Paul SPARKS, 75, of Frontenac, Kan., passed away at 5:45 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at the Via Christi Village in Pittsburg, Kan. He was born on June 26, 1937, the son of Fannin Franklin and Willis Irene (HARDEN) SPARKS at Sand Springs. He graduated from Connors Community College. He then received his Bachelor’s of Science and Master’s Degree in counseling from Northeastern State University, Tahlequah. Later he received his Specialist degree in School Administration from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kan. On July 5, 1969, he was united in marriage to Rozanne FITE at Springfield, Mo. She survives at the family home. He then moved to the Bronaugh, Mo., school system and retired in 1996, after 20 years served as a Principal and then Superintendent. Membership was held in the Bronaugh Christian Church, where he was very active and served as the Sunday School Superintendent. He was a member of the Missouri State Teachers Association, Missouri Retired Teachers Association and the Southwest District Missouri Association of School Administrators. He also enjoyed serving on several community organizations while living in Vernon County, Missouri. In addition to his wife, Rozanne; he is survived by a son, Paul SPARKS and his wife, Angela of Frontenac; a brother, Ray Douglas SPARKS of Sallisaw; two grandchildren, Randa Kate and Jonah Paul SPARKS; two sisters-in-law, Donna JOHNSON of Kansas City, Mo. and Emmy FITE of Pittsburg; and a brother-in-law, Johnny FITE of Ozark, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Wayne Reber SPARKS; and a sister, Ruth SPARKS PHILPOT. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at the Presbyterian Church in Pittsburg with the Rev. Dan Moss and the Rev. K.O. Noonoo officiating. Interment will be at 3 p.m. in the Dadeville Masonic Cemetery in Dadeville, Mo. The family suggests memorials to the Bronaugh Community Schools Scholarship Fund; the Fite Family Scholarship at Dadeville, Mo. Francis Lee STOUT, 62, of Keota died on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, in Keota. He was born on June 16, 1950, in Talihina to Francis Junior and Maude Leona (ROSE) STOUT. No formal service is planned at this time. The family will hold services at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro. He was a truck driver and enjoyed camping and fishing. He attended Corner Stone Baptist Church in Cowlington. Survivors include two daughters, Shannon STOUT and companion, Daniel HARRIMAN, of Sallisaw and Shawnna TAYLOR of Spiro; one son, Kevin STOUT of Keota; five grandchildren; four sisters, Sunny June CRAWFORD of Cowetta, Sandra GRAM and Vickie DIX, both of Keota and Debbie SHORT of Magazine, Ark.; and two brothers, Allen STOUT of Keota and Robert STOUT of Charleston, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Marie LONG; and one brother, Ronnie STOUT.

Funeral services for Carroll Lynn SUTTON, 55, of Coweta will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at the Mallory-Martin Chapel in Spiro. Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro. Mr. SUTTON was born on Feb. 15, 1957, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Ray SUTTON and Velma (BAXTER) SUTTON. He died on Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, in Coweta. He was a truck driver. Survivors include two sons, Isiah Dean SUTTON and Carl Albert SUTTON, both of Owasso; eight brothers, Harold SUTTON of Tulsa, Jerry Don SUTTON, George SUTTON and Robin SUTTON, all of Coweta, Randy SUTTON, James SUTTON, Darrell SUTTON and Michael SUTTON, all of Nubbin Ridge; and his mother of Nubbin Ridge. He was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Sharon Gail SANDERS; two brothers, Bobby and Gary SUTTON; and two nephews.

Howard Dale WARD was born in Sallisaw on Aug. 18, 1938, and passed this life on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, in Tulsa. He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn WARD; his father, Howard WARD; and an infant daughter, Sherry Bernadette WARD. He is survived by his sister, Jimmie Lou WHITEKILLER of Sallisaw; four daughters, Dayla Jane SEALS and Melody Nan STANHOPE, both of Sallisaw, Michella Noelle WARD of Fayetteville, Ark., and Kelli Marie WARD of Dallas, Texas. He is also survived by one niece, Lou Ann GLADD of Sallisaw and one nephew, Thomas MONROE of Tahlequah; several great nieces and great nephews, great-grandchildren, a life-time friend and companion, Brenda Mae ELLIS of Sallisaw; and a host of special friends. Dale graduated from Sallisaw in 1956. He worked for the Oklahoma Highway Department, in retail grocery business and as a motel owner and manager. He was also in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was of the protestant faith. Dale was best known as a gifted singer and songwriter and recorded his first record in 1962. He recorded with several companies, Capitol, Dot and Monument. Throughout the 1960s he lived in Nashville, Hollywood and Las Vegas. Dale loved his hometown of Sallisaw, his family and friends and returned in 1967. Honorary pallbearers were Leroy Hensley, Ed Stites, Ted Fine, of Sallisaw and Seaynoah Mayfield of Las Vegas.
