Funeral services for John R. BENNETT, 95, of Vian, were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Blackgum Harvestime Church, north of Vian, with Rev. Chris Armer officiating. Burial was in Buffington Cemetery in Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. BENNETT was born March 29, 1911, in Adkins, Ark., to John Allen BENNETT and Ada Mutah (WARREN) BENNETT. He died Thursday, May 25, 2006, in Sallisaw. He married Loretta Rada COBURN, Sept. 28, 1949, in Tranquility, Calif. Survivors include his wife, Loretta BENNETT of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Martha Ann and Burl, and Carol and Larry; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Donald Ray and Anna, Sammy L. and Eva, and Loyd; three sisters, Murtice, Monice, and Louise; one brother, J.C.; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gleason and Quinton BENNETT, two sisters, Emma BARRETT and Georgia POPE, one son, Rober Glen BENNETT, one daughter, Shirley RICHEY, and two grandchildren, Damon BALLARD and Shannon WEYGAND.
Graveside services for William M. BRASHER, 81, of Rudy, Ark., are being held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mt. McCurry Cemetery in Rudy, under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren, Ark. He died on Sunday, May 28 in a local hospital. Survivors include four sisters, Gertie, Edna, Ruth, and Rachel; one brother, Charles; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Cynthia Lorraine HYMAN COPELAND, 46, of Fort Smith, Ark., was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Roland, with the Rev. Christopher B. Davis officiating. Burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery, south of Roland, under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith. She was born on May 6, 1960, in Muldrow. She died on Tuesday, May 25 in Fort Smith. Survivors include her husband, Hubert COPELAND, Jr. of the home and her sister, Dorothy. .
Funeral services for Rosetta FARMER, 83, of Muldrow, were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Victory Temple Pentecostal Church, east of Muldrow, with Rev. Tommy Treat officiating. Burial was in Fleetwood Cemetery, east of Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow. Mrs. FARMER was born July 18, 1922, in Mulberry, Ark., to Henry EDARDS and Ada (BRASSFIELD) EDARDS. She died Friday, May 26, 2006, in Fort Smith, Ark. She married Sidney FARMER, July 1, 1939, in Sequoyah County. He preceded her in death, May 26, 2006, in Sequoyah County. Survivors include two daughters, Linda and Barbara; one son, Leroy; one step-son, Sidney, Jr.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one brother, Truman. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Robert FARMER, two brothers, and two sisters.

Burial is in Sallisaw City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. HARDEN was born Feb. 11, 1919, in Mulberry, Ark., to Isaac B. RIGGS and Sarah Jane (OWENS) RIGGS. She died Saturday, May 27, 2006, in Sallisaw. She married James Edward HARDEN, May 8, 1937, in Sequoyah County. Survivors include her husband, James of the home; five daughters and two sons-in-law, June, Barbara, Martha and J.D., Joan and Joe, and Eva; two sons and one daughter-in-law, James E., Jr. of Broken Arrow, and Ike and Beth; 20 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Ann HARDEN, one granddaughter, Shelly RINEHEART, and 12 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include one daughter, Karen Sue, and her husband, Ronnie; three sons, Walter Andrew and his wife, Patti, Monroe Lewis Jr. and his wife, Pam, and George Lee and his wife, Linda; two sisters, Nellie and Jean; one step-daughter, Rhonda, and her husband, Carl; one step-son, James Jr.; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret SPARKS.

He died Tuesday, June 7, 2006, in Sallisaw. Survivors include his wife, Gertrude of the home; two daughters, Pat and Virginia; three sons, Mac and wife Orene, Alan and wife Pam, and retired Lt. Col. Mark.; two sisters, Irene and Annabelle; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Margie Lee BELL.

Mrs. RANKIN was born July 8, 1947, in the Nicut Community, to Ted BOYD and Bertha (SEABOLT) BOYD. She died Monday, June 26, 2006, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Mark and Shelly and Jerry; three grandsons; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; mother, Bertha OWENS; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Myrna and Junior, and Pat and Doyle; one brother, Ronnie; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Jack STONE, 69, of Vian, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Gore with Rev. Kurt Henry officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. STONE was born May 12, 1937, in Hugo, to Thomas Ocie STONE and Johnette (SMITH) STONE. He died Saturday, June 24, 2006, in Fort Smith, Ark. He married Kathryn Jane CROUCH, Feb. 11, 1955, in Gainesville, Texas. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn STONE of the home; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Bob, and Michael Jack and Tonya; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one brother, Jerry John. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Judy Kay JOSLIN.
Funeral services for Alice Imogene WHITE, 80, of Braggs, were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Braggs with Rev. Jack Carner officiating. Burial was in South Bethel Cemetery in Braggs, under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls. Mrs. WHITE was born Sept. 30, 1925, in Clarksville, Ark., to Grover Edward RALPH and Susie Levina Jane (RAMBO) RALPH. She died Thursday, June 22, 2006, in Muskogee. Survivors include six children, Wendall Leon, Gary Lee, Johnny Everett, Delores Jean, Thomas Chesley and Charles Edward; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 17 years, Everett L.C. SLAPE and husband of 31 years, John E. WHITE along with two daughters, Carolyn Sue WOODWARD and Terri Lynn SLAPE.
