Funeral services for David “Slim” ATKINS, 39, of Long, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Long Community Church with the Rev. David Evans officiating. Burial was in Long Cemetery, under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. ATKINS was born Aug. 13, 1969, in Citrus Heights, Calif., to David ATKINS Sr. and Yvonna HOOVER. He died Thursday, May 28, 2009, in Muldrow. Survivors include one daughter, Sarah; one son, James Dale; one sister, Stacy; one brother, Eric; mother, Yvonna (HOOVER) SIMS; father, David ATKINS Sr.; and grandmother, Lou HOOVER.

Funeral services for David Lee BAILEY, 20, of Moffett, are being held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Victory Temple Pentecostal Church in Roland. Burial is in the Gill Cemetery, in Van Buren, Ark., under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith, Ark. Mr. BAILEY died Sunday, May 31, 2009, in Tulsa. Survivors include his companion Cortney; parents, Patricia DYE and Roy BAILEY; adopted mother, Edith SMITH; five sisters, Brenda, Deanna and Tara, Robbie and Leandra; and three brothers, Shawn, Roy Lee and Dale. He was preceded in death by his adopted father, Allen D. SMITH.

Funeral services for Rev. Hoover BAILEY, 78, of Sallisaw, are being held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Agent Chapel in Sallisaw with the Rev. Gary Flynn officiating. Burial is in the Sallisaw City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Rev. BAILEY was born July 25, 1930, in Brent, to Albert “Bert” BAILEY and Enda (BURCHAM) BAILEY. He died Sunday, May 31, 2009, in Fort Smith, Ark. He married Norma Katherine YOUNG, in 1950, in Sallisaw. She preceded him in death, Dec. 1, 1984, in Sallisaw Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Marvin; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Wayne, and John and Kathy; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Icie and Minnie; one brother, Homer; and several other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda PETREE, one son, Darrell Ray BAILEY and his parents.

Funeral services for David Eugene CARTER, 42, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel in Sapulpa. A graveside service was held at Akins Cemetery, under the direction of Green Hill Funeral Home of Sapulpa. Mr. CARTER was born Feb. 26, 1967, in Tulsa, to David and Sheila CARTER. He died Wednesday, May 27, 2009. Survivors include three sons, Bradley, Richard and Flint and Samantha and Austen; mother; father, David CARTER Sr. and his wife, Jackie CARTER; one sister, Pamela and her husband, David; and two nephews.

Graveside services for Hester DAVIS, 93, of Spiro, formerly of Sallisaw, were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Sallisaw City Cemetery Gazebo in Sallisaw with the Rev. Vernon Stone officiating, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. DAVIS was born April 17, 1916, in Brushy, to Thomas Jefferson DAVIS and Mary Elizabeth (WATERS) DAVIS. She died Thursday, May 28, 2009, in Fort Smith, Ark. She married Jerry Preston DAVIS Sr., Sept. 12, 1929, in Bunch. He preceded her in death, Nov. 25, 1995 in Tahlequah Survivors include four daughters and one son-in-law, Nadine, Gladys, Phyllis, and Delphine and Gary; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Earl and Lelia, Houston, and Preston Jr. and Joyce; five sisters; one brother; 35 grandchildren; 75 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents and three sons, James, Daniel and Nathaniel DAVIS.

Funeral services for Doris Jean GOSSETT HARDIN, 81, of Vian, were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Vian Baptist Church with the Revs. Tommy Shropshire and Jim Murphy officiating. Burial was in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, in Vian, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. HARDIN was born Aug. 14, 1927, in Vian, to George GOSSETT and Nellie Ethel (SWON) GOSSETT. She died Friday, May 29, 2009, in Vian. She married Fred Callahan HARDIN, Dec. 21, 1945, in Clarksville, Ark. Survivors include her husband, Fred of the home; three daughters, Ann, Patricia and Janet; one son, Bob; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one uncle, Fred; and several cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Paul HARDIN.

Funeral services for Betsy Marie “Gran” HARPER, 73, of Sallisaw, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Vision of Christ Church in Marble City with the Revs. Jerry Cheater and Terry Cheater officiating. Burial will be in Marble City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. HARPER was born June 6, 1935, in Dustin, to Sam HARPER and Lussie BULLETT. She died Tuesday, June 2, 2009, in Sallisaw. She married Tony BUCKTROT, August 1957, in Bristow. He preceded her in death, July 4, 1974, in Bristow Survivors include five daughters and three sons-in-law, Anita and Jerry, Brenda and Terry, and Annie, Teresa and Charles, and LaKota; two sons, Jordan and Jeremiah; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Sam Jr. and Nathan; and two sisters, Sandra and Onzell. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Naamon BULLETT.

Graveside services for Raymond LONG, 72, of Sallisaw, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Buffington Cemetery with the Rev. Vernon Stone officiating, under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. LONG was born June 9, 1936, in Anadarko, to Roy LONG and Jimmie (WALKER) LONG. He died Friday, May 29, 2009, in Lyndon, Kan. Survivors include one daughter, Milissa and her husband, Lonnie; one son, David; three sisters, Velma, Mildred, and Billie; five brothers, Jimmy, Don, Jack, Steve and Carl; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and four sisters.

Funeral services for Paul C. SCHAEFER, 97, of Fort Smith, Ark., were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith, Ark. Burial was in the National Cemetery, in Fort Smith, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith. Mr. SCHAEFER was born July 4, 1911, in St. Louis, Mo. He died Saturday, May 30, 2009. Survivors include his wife, Leah, one niece and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and his first wife Jean.

Graveside services for Maggie CLANTON GLOVER, 93, of Sallisaw, are being held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Duncan Cemetery in Sallisaw with the Rev. Raymond Esteban officiating, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. GLOVER was born Nov. 22, 1915, in Neshoba, to Francis Marion CHURCH and Martha Ellen (JONES) CHURCH. She died Wednesday, June 3, 2009, in Sallisaw. Survivors include one daughter, Julie; three sons, Eddie, Marion and Jesse; 21 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and nine brothers.

Burial was in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery, under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls. Mrs. JOHNSON was born June 2, 1924, in Webbers Falls, to Dewey and Bertha (DIXSON) CROW. She died Friday, June 5, 2009, in Gore. Survivors include her husband, Harmon “Snook” JOHNSON of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Leta; two granddaughters; several great-grandchildren; brother, Dewey W.; brother-in-law, Fred and his wife, Barbara.

Funeral services for Joan SUTTON KELLY, 70, of Lancaster, S.C., were held at 11 a.m. Sunday at the New Life Christian Assembly Church in Lancaster with the Revs. Eric Graffam and Bayliss Adimaro officiating. Burial was in Lancaster Memorial Park, under the direction of Hartley Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Lancaster. Mrs. KELLY was born March 11, 1939, in Sallisaw, to Franklin SUTTON and Geneva (GREENFIELD) SUTTON. She died Thursday, June 4, 2009, in Springs Memorial Hospital. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Floyd KELLY of the home; one son, Roger D. and his wife, Roxie; one daughter, Debbie and her husband, Stan; four grandchildren; two brothers, James and Frank Jr.; and one sister. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Rebecca Jo KELLY and her mother.

Funeral services for Albert Lee KILPATRICK, 69, of Sallisaw will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Greater New Bethel Baptist Church in Sallisaw with the Rev. J.D. Jones officiating. Burial will be in Sallisaw City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. KILPATRICK was born Aug. 25, 1939, in Sallisaw, to Mac KILPATRICK and Anna Virginia (DUNN) MITCHELL. He died Saturday, June 6, 2009, in Sallisaw. He married Joanie Lee WILLIAMS, May 18, 1960, in Cooke County, Ill. She preceded him in death, July 9, 2002, in Sallisaw. Survivors include his special mother, Edna TUCKER; two daughters, Anna and Toni; three sons, Albert Jr. and Frank and David; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six sisters, Barbara, Casandra, Ellen, Diana, Vera and Bernita; five brothers, Mac, William and Fred, Charles and Marion; and several other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jerry and Leonard MITCHELL.

Graveside services for Ray McCarter ALEXANDER, 84, of Gans, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ark., with the Rev. Vernon Stone officiating, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. ALEXANDER was born Sept. 13, 1924, in Banner, to Ray McCarter ALEXANDER Sr. and Edith (RUMFELT) ALEXANDER. He died Saturday, June 13, 2009, in Gans. Survivors include one son, Frankie; one grandson; two sisters, Arla and Gloria; two brothers, Thomas and John; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma ALEXANDER, parents and one brother, Billy Bob ALEXANDER.

Billy KILGORE Sr., 54, of Lavaca, Ark., died on Sunday, June 14, 2009, in Fort Smith, Ark. No formal service is planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. KILGORE was born Aug. 8, 1954, in Spiro, to George Henry KILGORE and Lavada Ruth (WILLIAMS) KILGORE . He married Joyce Fern HARLOW, June 25, 1973, in Van Buren, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Lewis; one son, Billy and fiancée, Carrie; two grandchildren; two brothers, Danny and Darrell; and several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Naomi Jewel NUNNERY, 75, of Sallisaw, were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith, Ark. with Pastor Tommy Parker and Chaplain Vernon Stone officiating. Burial was in the U.S. National Cemetery, in Fort Smith, under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith. Mrs. NUNNERY died Sunday, June 14, 2009, in Sallisaw. Survivors include her husband, Robert NUNNERY of Sallisaw; three daughters, Sharon and her husband, Kenneth, Sandra and her husband, Jim, and Karen and her husband, Eddie; two sons, Robert and his wife, LaDonna, and Carl and his wife, Charlie; two brothers, Harvey and Roy; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Tina PAYTON, one grandson, Tyler HAMILTON, one sister, Melba SHICKEY and one brother, John Maxie DEAN.

Graveside services for Gilbert C. PHELPS, 85, of Beggs, are being held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Seabolt Cemetery near Sallisaw, under the direction of McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs. Mr. PHELPS was born June 30, 1923, in Short, to Scott Conway and Pearl Minnie (HOWELL) PHELPS. He died Sunday, June 14, 2009, in Muskogee. He married Ester Eve WEAVER Dec. 4, 1947, in Union Town, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Ester of the home; two sons, Gilberty C. Jr. and his wife, Linda, and Jerrett Dale and his wife, Sue; grandson; two granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Clayton, Jay, Lloyd and Wayne; one sister, Vera; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Charlie PHELPS, Clarence PHELPS and Glen PHELPS.

Mr. THOMAS was born Oct. 11, 1942, in Stilwell, to Elmer THOMAS and Ethel (SMITH) THOMAS. He died Thursday, June 11, 2009, in Tahlequah. He married Sharon Janelle HENDRIX, June 24, 1961, in Stilwell. Survivors include his wife, Sharon of the home; four daughters, Janette and her companion, Billy, Janelle and her husband, Dennis, Janenne and her companion, Jason, and Janesse and her companion, Steve; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Coeta; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Mrs. TURNER was born Aug. 30, 1945, in Tartagal, Argentina, to Redentor Osinaga and Laura (GUTIERREZ) SUAREZ. She died Monday, June 15, 2009, in Sallisaw. She married Theldon Dewayne TURNER, Nov. 25, 1982, in Newton, Kan. He preceded her in death, Dec. 7, 2006, in Vinton, La. Survivors include four daughters, Nora, Sylvia, Carmen and Terrie; one son, Sheldon; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elana and Olivia; three brothers, Gary, Fransisco and Jorge; sister-in-law, Jerry; and several other relatives and friends. Mr. ELLIS was born Oct. 22, 1913, in Webbers Falls, to William Lafayette and Minnie Lee (DENNY) ELLIS. He died Friday, June 19, 2009, in Warner. He married Hilda ROLLINS, March 17, 1934, in Webbers Falls. Survivors include his children, Ronnie and Pat, Bill and Elsa, and Ramona and Jerry; sister, Ethel; sister-in-law, Melba; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Hilda ELLIS, two children, Gypsy Love ELLIS and Beverly Ruth ELLIS, one brother, Bob ELLIS and four sisters, Letha SHAHAN, Pearl MORGAN, Cora M. HAWK and Grace MARTIN.

He died Thursday, June 18, 2009, in Sallisaw. He married Shelli Renae PERKINS, June 14, 1985, in Bakersfield, Calif. Survivors include his wife, Shelli FOREMAN; two daughters, Felicia and Christina; father, Kenneth FOREMAN; two sisters, Pam and Karen; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Eldon and Judy PERKINS. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Burial is in Box Cemetery, in Vian, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. KELLEY was born April 1, 1960, in Tahlequah, to Melvin Robert KELLEY Sr. and Rose Marie (VANN) KELLEY. He died Sunday, June 21, 2009, in Branson, Mo. He married Mary Ellen ROSSON, Sept. 6, 1981, in Blackgum. Survivors include his wife, Mary of the home; one daughter, Kristen; four sons and one daughter-in-law, Steven and Chelsea, Kevin and Joey, and Tony; two grandchildren; mother; two brothers, Maynard and Harold; four sisters, Nancy, Susan, Linda and Karen; and many cousins, nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father.

Mrs. NGUYEN was born June 26, 1955, in Liberal, Kan., to Bennie BILYEU and Maggie (RIGGS) BILYEU. She died Saturday, June 20, 2009, in Sallisaw. She married Tai Anh NGUYEN, Dec. 18, 1976, in Idabel.Survivors include her husband, Tai Anh NGUYEN of the home; three sons, James, Billy and companion Kathy, and Hau; three granddaughters; one grandson; father; two brothers, Norvin and John; two sisters, Donna and Delores; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, one brother, Bennie Wayne BILYEU and father-in-law, Nam NGUYEN.

Gary Mullen officiating, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. PETREE was born Feb. 11, 1950, in Sallisaw, to Burley Wesley PETREE and Hazel (RIGGS) PETREE. He died Sunday, June 21, 2009, in Sallisaw. He married Sueetta PATROM, Nov. 25, 2001, in Van Buren, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Sueetta of the home; eight daughters and seven sons-in-law, Debbie and Paul, Carla and Roger, and Carla and Johnny, Missy, Crystal and Colby, Twana and Donna, LaDonna and Theodus, and Allison and David; 22 grandchildren; four sisters, Phyllis and Patsy, Shirley and Sybil; three brothers, Roger, Don and Adam; and several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stephanie LOVELL, parents and two sisters, Faye DORITY and Dyhana MOWDY.

Wayland Brent VAUPEL, 36, of Gore, died on Monday, June 22, 2009, in Sallisaw. No formal service is planned and cremation is under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. VAUPEL was born May 27, 1973, in Oklahoma City, to David Brent VAUPEL and Cheryl VAUPEL. Survivors include his father and step-mother, Brent and Glenda VAUPEL; grandfather, E.H. Hopp VAUPEL; guardians, Holly and Steve, and their seven children; and several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jackie VAUPEL.

Funeral services for Carl Keith WILLIAMS, 61, of Gore, were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Lakeroad Church of Christ in Gore with Roy Raines officiating. Burial was in Fort Gibson National Cemetery, under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls. Mr. WILLIAMS was born Dec. 19, 1947, in Gore, to Carl Edward and Mildred WILLIAMS. He died Saturday, June 20, 2009, in Gore. He married Carol SCHNEIDEWIND, Sept. 24, 1971, in WaKeeney, Kan. Survivors include his wife, Carol of the home; daughter, Carlene; sons, Jerome and; daughter, Mendy and her husband, Steven;  sister, Phyllis and her husband, Ben; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Evelyn “Tootsie” CASEBOLDT and brother, Jerry Lee WILLIAMS.

Charles “Sonny” Sparkman officiating, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. ARMSTRONG was born Aug. 16, 1943, in Lenny, to Eskol DAVIS and Ruby (JONES) DAVIS. She died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, in Sallisaw. Survivors include her husband, Jack ARMSTRONG Sr. of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and David; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Chris and Noriko, Doug, Billy and DeAnn, and Jack and Katrina; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Peggy and Jerry, Dixie and Larry, and Joan and Mark; one brother, Dean; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her first husband, Calvin BAILEY in 1969.

Mrs. H ARTON was born Feb. 16, 1957, in Vian, to Nellie Mae SHADE. She died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, in Sallisaw. Survivors include her husband, Eddie; five sons, Brandon, Lawrence, Victor, Tyler and Lorenzo; four sisters, Lorene, Robia, Janice and Emma; three brothers, Leon, Kenneth and Ray; former husband, Larry PATTERSON; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother.

Funeral services for Eddie “Tex” MADER, 56, of Muldrow, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Agent Chapel in Muldrow with the Rev. Carl Fugett officiating. Burial of cremains will be at Muldrow Memory Garden at a later date, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow. Mr. MADER was born Sept. 20, 1952, in San Antonio, Texas, to Leonard Lee MADER and Myron Lucille (KING) MADER. He died Sunday, June 7, 2009, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include two daughters, Amber and Sarah Jane; three grandchildren; parents; two brothers, Danny and Jack; and several other relatives and friends.

Burial is in Blackjack Cemetery, northwest of Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. SPEARS was born Sept. 8, 1928, in Gans, to Ralph BEAM and Pearl Mae (MARTIN) BEAM. She died Thursday, June 25, 2009, in Fort Smith, Ark. She married Robert Vernon SPEARS, June 25, 1945, in Sallisaw. He preceded her in death March 29, 2001, in Sallisaw. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Larry Dale and Billie; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Larry, and Deborah Ruth and Wayland; 100 year old mother, Pearl Mae BEAM; two sisters, Bonnie and Sharon; two brothers, Tommy and Bobby; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Sharonda Kaye SAXON.
