Ada REAL BLOUNT was born to Alan and Ida REAL on Feb. 23, 1925, at home in McKey, Okla., she left this world for her heavenly reward on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at her home in McKey. She grew up in McKey where she attended McKey School. Ada was a charter member of McKey Baptist Church along with her parents. She married Coy BLOUNT on July 20, 1943, in Sallisaw. Soon after he left to serve in World War II. She worked hard while he was gone serving our country and she also worked as a riveter, building planes. She always worked hard whether at home in the garden, with cattle or in factories. She retired from Riverside Furniture but did not stay retired working as a Home Care Provider, and also getting involved with the Granny Program at Sallisaw School. At the age of 75 she received a lifelong goal and received her GED. She was a member of First Baptist Church of McKey, loved attending the McKey School reunions and was the best cook ever. She leaves to mourn her passing, sister, Virginia McCOMBS of Bakersfield, Calif.; one daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Tom SANDERS of McKey; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Steve and René BLOUNT of Sallisaw and Rodney BLOUNT of Tulsa; grandchildren, Kevin and Dana SANDERS, Jeff and Christy SANDERS, Lisa and Alvin HAHN, Kathy Dawn BLOUNT OZEROUGLU, Marty and Jessica BLOUNT, Derrick BLOUNT and Jacob and Chanisty BLOUNT; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves many friends and family whom she loved very much. She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Coy BLOUNT; a son, Jay BLOUNT; eight brothers, Jim Wiley, AC, Monroe, Carol, Harold, Silas and Adam REAL; and three sisters, Rosie NEWTON, Hattie DOTSON and Valerie BELL. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at the Agent & Mallory-Martin Chapel in Sallisaw with Bro. Ted Eppler and Bro. Curtis Bias officiating. Burial will be at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Pallbearers are Kevin Sanders, Jeff Sanders, Alvin Hahn, Marty Blount, Derrick Blount and Jacob Blount. Honorary pallbearers are great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and Merle Rowe.

Peter BROWN, 54, of Eufaula, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, in Tulsa. Peter was born on Sept. 25, 1958, in Redding, Calif., to Simon and Barbara Ruth (BLAKE) BROWN. He graduated from Eufaula High School in 1977. Peter attended college at OSU and OSU Technology Center, being certified in hydraulic and diesel mechanics. He owned a fabrication shop in Muskogee, where he made tractor smokers and trailers. Peter also owned and operated a welding shop in Eufaula. On Nov. 25, 1988, he married Elizabeth Ann KIRKPATRICK in Eufaula. For the past 12 years, Peter worked at Franklin Electric as a hydraulic specialist. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Ann BROWN of the home; his mother, Barbara BROWN; two sons, Brent KIRKPATRICK and wife, Cynthia and Cody HENSON and wife, Kaci, both of Eufaula; two daughters, Cherish HOLLOWAY of Vian and Clarissa BROWN-DOBSON of Eufaula; two brothers, Danny BROWN and wife, Sonyja of Boise, Idaho and Matthew BROWN and wife, Mary of Sallisaw; one sister, Margaret BROWN-GROCHOWALSKI of Stidham; and eight grandchildren, Justice STEELE, Kyle KIRKPATRICK, Zyan HANEBERG, Tristyn HOLLOWAY, Mirakle HOLLOWAY, Taylor HENSON, Kaidence PHILLIPS and Hayden HENSON. He is preceded in death by his father, Simon BROWN; one brother, David BROWN; paternal grandparents, Frank and Maggie BROWN; and maternal grandparents, Eugene and Ruth BLAKE. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the Kelley Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Charles Roberts officiating. Burial will be at Warner Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Gore. Mrs. CAMPBELL was born on Sept. 18, 1964, in Stigler to Eugene Lafay MURPHY and Phyllis June Lynn GULLETT. She died on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, in Webbers Falls. She was a bank teller. She married Robert Todd CAMPBELL on May 15, 2006, in Eureka Springs, Ark. Survivors include her husband, Robert of the home; two daughters, Andrea HENDERSON of Warner and Heather FORD of Muskogee; two sons, Ethan CAMPBELL of Muskogee and Briar CAMPBELL of Warner; her mother, of Warner; one brother, Larry MURPHY of Warner; one sister, Shelley TEAGUE of Warner; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father; her first husband, John EADER; and stepfather, Donald GULLETT. Pallbearers will be Greg Towe, Joe Wright, Robert Campbell, Raybert Downing, Kyle Ford and Chad Eader.

Erica LADD DUKE of Spiro was born on Feb. 5, 1987, in Poteau to Eric and Debbie (QUEENER) LADD and passed away on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, in Spiro at the age of 26. She is survived by her husband, Brandon of the home; one daughter, Aubrey DUKE of Spiro; one son, Carson DUKE of Spiro; her parents, Eric LADD and wife, Carolyn of Cameron and Debbie AKERS and husband, Doyal of Spiro; four sisters, Alexia BROOKS of Spiro and Amber GONZALEZ and husband, Al, Laci CAMERON and Tarah FRUEN and husband, Brandon, all of Cameron; two brothers, Chase LADD and wife, Adrienne of Cameron and Taylor COX and wife, Stephanie of Poteau; and grandparents, David LADD and wife, Wanda of Whitefield and Eugene QUEENER of Spiro. Erica was a 2005 Keota graduate where she played basketball, softball and cheered. She was a 2007 graduate of CASC where she was a cheerleader and enlisted in the Navy in 2010. She was preceded in death by her unborn daughter, Camdyn Brookleigh DUKE; paternal grandmother, Ruth Ann LADD; and maternal grandmother, Phyllis QUEENER. Funeral services for Earl Wayne KECK, 78, of Vian will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Vian Assembly of God Church with Bro. Eddie Martin officiating. Burial will be at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. KECK was born on Oct. 19, 1934, in Sallisaw to Raymond Stanley KECK and Bertha Mae (SPENCER) KECK. He died on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, in Vian. He was a truck driver. He married Martha Lee BROWN on Sept. 22, 1956, in Sallisaw. Survivors include his wife, Martha KECK of the home; two sons, Mike and Danny KECK, both of Sallisaw; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Charles Wayne KECK, his parents; and one brother, William Hiram KECK. Funeral services for Will SHORT, 74, of Webbers Falls will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Millsap Funeral Service Chapel in Webbers Falls with the Rev. Wendell Cox officiating. Burial will be in Cramp Cemetery, near Porum, under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls. Mr. SHORT was born on May 12, 1938, in Muskogee to Jess and Marie (FRENCH) SHORT. He died on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, in Muskogee. He was a lifelong resident of the area. Prior to retirement, he worked as an electrician and belonged to the I.B.E. W. Union. Survivors include his wife, Alma (McGLAMERY) SHORT of the home; son, Carl PAYNE of Shawnee; stepchildren, Dian NICHOLSON of Porum, LaDonna Kay DAUGHERTY of Sperry and Burl Franklin NICHOLSON of Phoenix; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Zelma BERRY of Porum and Louise BUCKMASTER of Muskogee; and sister-in-law, Evalina SHORT of Porum. Robbie Joann DRISCOLL BIBB, 74, of Gans passed away on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, in Tulsa. Mrs. BIBB was born on July 2, 1938, in Fort Smith, Ark., the daughter of William Joseph DRISCOLL and Lois (AUTRY) DRISCOLL. She married Jackie Dean BIBB on April 6, 1957, in Heavener. He preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 1986. Mrs. BIBB was a home healthcare aid. Survivors are one daughter and son-in-law, Rosalind and Randy JACKSON of Tulsa; one daughter-in-law, Kathryn BIBB of Little Rock, Ark.; six grandchildren, Jacey Lynn BIBB, Robbie Dee JACKSON, Christopher Randall JACKSON, Kara Marie BIBB, Charles Ryan BIBB and Jessica Dean JACKSON; one great-grandson, Jalen Nicholas McCLURE; three sisters, Lita REED, Mary Lou HINDS and Aline METCALF; three brothers, J.V. DRISCOLL, Billy DRISCOLL and Charles GOINS; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Charles Jack BIBB; two brothers, Bud DRISCOLL and Francis DRISCOLL; and two sisters, Joyce ANDREWS and Sheila RIDDLE. Alzheimer’s may have taken your body but it never took your spirit! We laughed and cried as we fought this thing together. The day you left me, I knew you were finally free and rejoicing in the arms of Charles Jack, Daddy and so many other loved ones we have lost. During your final days, I told you “don’t worry, I would be okay,” I struggled to prepare myself for what was to be. Funeral services for James Leroy “J.L.” BROYLES, 75, of Muldrow were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at the Agent Chapel in Muldrow with Bro. Shawn Money officiating. Burial was at Blackjack Cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Muldrow. Mr. BROYLES was born on May 3, 1937, in Paw Paw to Arvel Jessie BROYLES and Bertie Mae (KENNEDY) BROYLES. He died on Saturday, March 2, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark. He worked in a furniture factory and was an oilfield worker. He married Virginia Kay FAULKNER on July 26, 1942, in Fort Smith. She preceded him in death on Jan. 11, 2013. Survivors include one daughter, Kimball Marie RUSSELL of Muldrow; one son, Perry BROYLES of Muldrow; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Audrey Faye BROYLES PHILLIPS; one brother, Ray Arvel BROYLES; and one great-grandson. Pallbearers were Scott Harvell, Lance Harvell, Kevin Harvell, Gene Mackey, Kenneth Ogdon and Greg Wilson.

Funeral services for Shelly Renee CARPENTER, 44, of Texarkana, Texas, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the Mallory-Martin Chapel in Spiro. Burial was at New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro. Mrs. CARPENTER was born on Feb. 24, 1969, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Jerald Dean and Lavena Jo CARPENTER. She died on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, in Texarkana. She was a hairdresser and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include four children, Kayla ROWAN, Rodney ROWAN, Tandy Renee AARON and Jayden CARPENTER; one sister, Kymberly HALL; one brother and sister-in-law, Bryan and Melisa VINCENT; and several other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mr. CHAPMAN was born on Nov. 18, 1963, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Freddy Lee CHAPMAN and Ruth Elizabeth (BOWDEN) CHAPMAN. He died on Monday, March 4, 2013, in Muldrow. He was a general laborer. He married Debra Lou BOTT on Oct. 8, 1993, in Muldrow. Survivors include his wife, Debbie CHAPMAN of the home; three sisters, Barbara WEAVER, Donna TIBBITS and Karan BRUNK, all of Muldrow; three brothers, Jerry and Roger CHAPMAN, both of Muldrow and Jack CHAPMAN of Roland; and several other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Joshua Randall GANDY of Roland passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark., after fighting valiantly for the last two and a half years while wearing a heart pump. He was born on Feb. 26, 1994, in Fort Smith. He was 19 years and one day old. Joshua was a loving and kind person who will be missed by everyone who knew him. He is survived by his parents, Renee GANDY of Roland and Jerry GANDY of Pocola; sister, Brittany GANDY of Fort Smith; brother and sister-in-law, Christopher and Ellen GANDY of Van Buren, Ark.; nanny, Leola WHEAT; papa, Jerry J. GANDY; aunts, Vicki BATYNSKI and Becky POLK, both of Claremore and Fonda BARBER and her husband, James of Muldrow; uncle, Ronnie GANDY of Fort Smith; and many, many cousins and friends. He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended the Assembly of God Church in Warner. Prior to retirement he was a truck driver. Funeral services for Anna Doris SMITHSON, 89, of Sallisaw were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church in Sallisaw with the Revs. Trevor Smith and Vernon Stone officiating. Interment followed in the Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Pallbearers were her grandsons. Anna Doris SUMPTER SMITHSON was born on Nov. 8, 1923, to Andrew Galloway SUMPTER and Almeda BROWN in Qualls. She married the love of her life, W.A. “Smitty” SMITHSON in Muskogee and together they raised four children, Donald, Cheryl, Bud and Pamela. Her husband preceded her in death on April 3, 2007, in Sallisaw. Anna was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sallisaw and a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she was a past Worthy Matron and served as a Grand Officer. She also served as Rainbow Girls Mother Advisor in Sallisaw and was a member of the Sequoyah County Democrats and had the privilege of being the Democrat Woman of the Year for the Sequoyah County Democrat Women. Over the years, Anna was many things, she prepared an untold number of meals as school cook for Sallisaw Schools and was a professional seamstress for many years. Later in life, she was the co-owner and operator of Smitty’s Bait and Tackle and Smitty’s BBQ in Sallisaw until she retired. She leaves to mourn her passing, two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Wanda SMITHSON and Glen “Bud” SMITHSON and Dr. Annette SMITHSON; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Wendell MILLS and Pamela and Richard CRUTCHFIELD, all of Sallisaw; one brother and three sisters-in-law, Harold and Frances SUMPTER of Gore, Mattie Lena SUMPTER of Meeker and Wanda McCONNELL of Muskogee; one sister, Mary Ruth HUBLER of Gore; 10 grandchildren, Gwen and Keith RAY of Checotah, Sheila and Zeb COMER of Sallisaw, Greg SMITHSON of Pocola, Janna and Mike PHILPOT of Sallisaw, Shawnya and Rod SLATTERY of Richardson, Texas, Cindy and Matt CULLUM of Corinth, Texas, Todd and Missy SMITHSON of Wagoner, Justin SMITHSON of Sallisaw, Neisha and Dave LEMIER of Hulbert and Nicholas and Tracy MILLARD of Hulbert; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and a host of other family members and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Howard, Arvel, Clifford, Calvin and Jimmie SUMPTER; and one daughter-in-law, Carol SMITHSON. Wanda Marie CARDWELL was born on June 18, 1944, in Carlisle, Sequoyah County, to James William LOWE and Donnie Lee (ROBISON) LOWE. She married Ralph Wayne CARDWELL on March 12, 1965, in Round Mountain. He preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 2012, in Odessa, Texas. She passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark., at the age of 68. Survivors are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael and Tina CARDWELL, Darrell and Jody CARDWELL and Tracey CARDWELL, all of Sallisaw; six grandchildren, Dustin CARDWELL, Shelby CARDWELL, Brittana DARCY and husband, Kenneth, Chance CARDWELL, Dillon CARDWELL and Ashley CARDWELL; one great-grandchild, Braylynn DARCY; four sisters, Carol SANDLIN of Vian, Kathy CURRY of Sallisaw, Janet DOBBS and husband, Scot of Vian, and Rhonda LOWE and companion, James “Shorty” ANNESLEY of Vian; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services are being held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Sallisaw. Burial will follow at Round Mountain Cemetery in Vian under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Active pallbearers are Dustin Cardwell, Chance Cardwell, Dillon Cardwell, Kenneth Darcy, Jeremy Dobbs and Jake Sandlin. Honorary pallbearers are Brittana Darcy, Shelby Cardwell and Ashley Cardwell.

Connie CUPP was born on Aug. 2, 1925, in Vian the son of Frank CUPP and Leona (DOTSON) CUPP. He married Freda CHOATE on Sept. 20, 1944, in Marble City. She passed this life on Sept. 24, 1996. From Connie and Freda’s devoted marriage they were blessed with three children: Connie Gail and Henry HARRIS of Marble City, Kathy and Vernon McGREW of Muldrow and George Mack and Donna Ann CUPP of Sallisaw; 10 grandchildren, Chris, Raymond, Jeffrey and Joe Doug HARRIS, Kasey GRANT, Brandy BLAIR, Ray McGREW, Cherokee PELICAN, Trenten McGREW and Steven SCHIELKE; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. On Aug. 8, 2000, Connie was blessed with extending his family when he married Marie NIXON and welcomed four children: Donna McKINNEY of Purcell, Debbie and Richard HURST of Keota and Doretha and Troy TINNIN of Sallisaw and Doug and Shawna NIXON of Red Oak; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Ruth GIBSON of Bartlesville, Gussie CRAWSON of Dwight Mission and Nada CRAWSON of Vian; one brother, Dave CUPP of McAlester; and a host of other relatives and friends who have all become a part of his loving family. He was also preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Maxine, Naomi, Willie and Florence; and one brother, Carnell. Mr. CUPP passed this life on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark., at the age of 87. Funeral services are being held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at Calvary Temple Full Gospel Church in Sallisaw with Bro. Richard Hurst, Bro. Vernon McGrew and Bro. Gary Blankenship officiating. Mrs. ERKKILA was born on April 8, 1938, in Vian to William Cody BENNETT and Retta (BROWN) BENNETT. She died on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, in Muskogee. She was a retired nurse. She married Raymond William “Hank” ERKKILA on April 26, 1958, in Vian. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1994. Survivors include three daughters, Sonja KADLEC of Muskogee, Lisa KUECHLER of Wisconsin and Teresa ERKKILA of the home; two sons, Ronald ERKKILA of Muskogee and Alan ERKKILA of Minneapolis, Minn.; three sisters, Gail WARNER, Martha SLAPE and Paula PAGE, all of Braggs; three brothers, Joe BENNETT of Edmond and John BENNETT and James Vardemon BENNETT, both of Vian; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

William Arthur LONG, 66, of Pocola died on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was born on Jan. 1, 1947, in Cario, Ill., to William A. and Doris Mae (KIDD) LONG. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith. He was an employee of the Baldor Corporation and U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed woodworking. She married Cloyde Bentley RULE on June 15, 1957, in Tulsa. He preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 2011. Graveside services for Eugene Glenwood “Sarge” COLLINS of Apache are being held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at the Fairview Cemetery in Apache with the Rev. Rue Scot officiating. Services are under the direction of Crews Funeral Home. Mr. C0LLINS was born May 23, 1916, in Tahlequah to Benjamin Harrison COLLINS and Alma S. JAMES COLLINS. He passed away March 9, 2013, in Henryetta, at the age of 96. After graduating from high school, he entered the Army in 1940, where he served for 21 years as a mechanic. He retired with the rank of staff sergeant. He served in both World War II and Korea. He married Nellie Marie MULLIS on Sept. 13, 1947, in Wichita Falls, Texas. After he retired, Mr. COLLINS and his wife moved to Apache, where he drove a school bus for the Apache School District. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. “Sarge” served on the Apache Town Board and headed up the Purple Martin Society. He played the harmonica and enjoyed fishing, hunting and bird watching. She was also preceded in death by one son, David OWENS Jr., and four sisters, Clarsie, Dudie, Opal and Dorothy.

Gary Dale PARROTT, 79, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. He was born on April 2, 1933, in Alma, Ark, to Edgar Felix and Lettie Oleta MURPHY PARROTT. Gary grew up in Bowlegs. He attended Bowlegs High School. After high school he joined the Army in 1950, and served for four years during the occupation of Europe, following he served in the Army Reserves for six years. Gary was honorably discharged in 1960 after achieving the rank of second lieutenant. He also worked in sales and chemical engineering for several years before beginning his most loved career as a quarter and thoroughbred race horse trainer. He ran horses all over the United States for 50 years. He was a leading trainer of the year in Texas in 1970, won the El Primero Del Ano Derby in 1975, at Los Alamitos Racetrack in California, and was the leading trainer at Riliito Park in Arizona in 1976. He married Ada “Susie” JOHNSON in 1952, in Norris City, Ill. They were happily married for 61 years. His parents, Felix ands Oleta PARROTT, and one brother, Edgar Anthony PARROTT, preceded Gary in death. Gary is survived by his spouse, Susie of Sallisaw; his daughters, Jan and Mark GOUGH of Norman, Joni and Harry TROSIN of Tishomingo and Jill and Bryan PERRY of Milburn; his sister, Pam SMITH of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Gary MULLINS, Michelle SMITH, Jay ROBERTS and Taylor TROSIN; great-grandchildren, Malloree SMITH, Brenna SMITH and Brice SMITH; nieces and nephews; and other relatives. Doug ROGERS, 58, of Sallisaw, passed away March 10, 2013, in Enterprise. Doug was born on Aug. 9, 1954, in Fort Smith, Ark., the son of Elton and Patricia (DAVIS) ROGERS. He was a 1972 graduate of Sallisaw High School and received a bachelor degree in business from OSU in 1977. He married Cindy LOVERN on May 11, 1979. Doug worked for Kerr-McGee in Gore for 10 years and was the office manager at the Sallisaw Tag Agency for 26 years. His passion was fishing for trout and bass. He also liked to quail hunt. Doug has won numerous bass tournaments and championships, including winner of the Bassnanza of Sallisaw with partner Nick Cox. He and Nick also won the River Rat Anglers of the Year in 2009 and 2011. He didn’t have to retire to do what he wanted to do. Survivors are his wife, Cindy of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Lyndsay and Ryan RASMUSSEN of Fort Smith; granddaughter, Jillian RASMUSSEN; his father, Elton ROGERS of Sallisaw; and sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Bill KOSCHER of Oklahoma City. Memorial services for Doris Jean BANDUCCI, 78, of Sallisaw will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Passalaqua Funeral Home Chapel in Benicia, Calif., and will be officiated by Father Michael of St. Dominick’s Catholic Church. Mrs. BANDUCCI died on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark. she was born on Springfield, Mo., to Earl and Vivian (HALE) McCLANAHAN. She retired from the Retail Clerks Union in California and was of the Catholic faith. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Arthur BANDUCCI of Sallisaw; one daughter, Corrie BANDUCCI CORE of Benicia; one son, L. Michael BANDUCCI of Benicia; three grandchildren; one brother, James McCLANAHAN of Walnut Creek, Calif.; and a cousin. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Louie CHEEK was born Edna Louise BURTOON in Seven Oaks, Indian Territory, on Nov. 6, 1907, to Rufus Caleb and Emma (ALLEN) “Emily” BURTON. The family later moved to Sallisaw where she attended and graduated from Sallisaw High School. Mrs. CHEEK and her previous husband, Dollen REED, had four children: Bob REED and Don REED, both of Oklahoma City, Charles REED of Austin, Texas and Peggy REED WHITENER of Sallisaw, who preceded her in death. She later married Ben CHEEK with whom she had three children: Burton CHEEK, Addie GRIFFIN and Dr. Ben CHEEK, all of Sallisaw. The family also includes 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great-grandchildren. She was baptized in the creek at Sloan Chapel in 1916, by Bro. Brown and joined the First Baptist Church of Sallisaw in 1947, where she has been a member for 66 years. Louie was many things to many people. Her love for her family and friends and her enthusiasm for life encouraged all of us. Everyone loved to hear her stories about her life. She worked her whole life in Sallisaw for M&O Department Store, Hawkins Department Store, Jiffy Mart and the Cookson Hills Foster Grandparent Program, until she retired at the age of 84. She was best friends to her children and a wonderful loving mother. Her greatest joy was having her children all at home during Christmas time. Louie enjoyed quilting, bowling and cooking. She is survived by six of her children, Bob REED and wife, Melodies of Oklahoma City, Don REED of Oklahoma City, Charles REED of Austin, Texas, Addie GRIFFIN of Sallisaw, Burton CHEEK and wife, Emogene of Sallisaw and Dr. Ben CHEEK of Sallisaw; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 26 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Agent & Mallory-Martin Chapel in Sallisaw. Mrs. COGBURN was born on June 7, 1942 to T.B. SIMMONS and Rena (BEAVERS) SIMMONS. She died on Friday, March 8, 2013, in Chickasha. She grew up in the Cement area and attended Cement Public Schools. She was a homemaker, and helped her husband train horses. She enjoyed music and watching her son-in-law and grandchildren sing. She married James COGBURN in October of 1957, in Chickasha. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Vernon and Teresa COGBURN of Gans, Kevin and Terry COGBURN of Morris and Orrin and Vickie COGBURN of Sallisaw; one daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Monty MINK of Cement; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Iris SIMMONS of Holdenville, and Holly SIMMONS and Arda and Houston COGBURN, all of Cement; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Vance SIMMONS and Dustin and Jeanette SIMMONS, all of Cement; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many others that she claimed as her own. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.

Memorial services for Radomaye FAULKNER of Richardson, Texas, formerly of Sallisaw, were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas with Michael Davenport officiating. Interment followed at Restland Memorial Park. After attending beauty college in Tulsa, Radomaye married Earl W. FAULKNER in 1933. She then opened her very popular beauty shop in Sallisaw, while raising three children, DeLois, Eddie and Larry. Radomaye ran her shop for many years before moving to Richardson in 1963. There she designed and managed her own highly successful beauty salon called “Windsor Place.” She had eight wonderful stylists working in her shop and she continued styling hair until she was 94. As a youth growing up in the 1920s, she was an avid Charleston dancer and was still dancing with her grandson Stanley BOYDSTON at age 98. She was seven months shy of 99 before leaving this life. She was also a fantastic cook. She specialized in fried chicken, peach cobbler and at Christmas time a wonderful bourbon fruitcake. Her generosity, humor, longevity and endurance inspired everyone that come into contact with her. She often attributed her longevity to the fact that she never drank water, only Pepsi-Cola. Survivors include one daughter, DeLois FAULKNER of Santa Barbara, Calif.; one son, Larry Wayne FAULKNER and wife, Susan of Garland, Texas; twin granddaughters, Kelly and Holly; grandsons Dr. Chris MAYNARD of Athens, Tenn., Stanley BOYDSTON of Santa Barbara and Jason FAULKNER of Garland. She was preceded in death by her son, Eddie Earl FAULKNER in 2007. Radomaye was blessed with good health that enabled her to help raise her wonderful grandchildren. She was dearly loved  by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She will be missed.

Catherine Sue LAURENT, 65, of Grand Prairie, Texas, died on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, in Vian. She was born on Jan. 2, 1948, in DeQueen, Ark., to Roy Bolt and Nancy Pearl BEARDEN BARHAM. Steve DAVIS is a favorite son of Oklahoma having been raised in Sallisaw in Sequoyah County after being born on Nov 19, 1952, in Shreveport, La., during his father's military service duty at Barksdale Air Force Base. The first born of four boys, Steve grew up in a Christian home and excelled as a student and athlete. He enjoyed a "storybook" career in his early years at Sallisaw High School. In 2013, he will be the first Black Diamond football player ever to have his jersey number (19) retired. He was a consensus All-State football player, two-sport Jim Thorpe Award winner, Oil Bowl (Oklahoma vs. Texas All-Stater) selection and a National Football Foundation Scholar Athlete. In 1970, DAVIS was elected Governor at the Oklahoma American Legion Boys State Convention held in Stillwater. He was also selected, along with Jim Smart of Shawnee, to attend Boys Nation in Washington, D D. DAVIS and Smart joined such distinguished Boys Nation Alumni as Tom Brokaw, Bill Clinton, Neil Armstrong and several current congressional leaders. Steve was recruited to play football at the University of Oklahoma. And, even though he earned the last scholarship, he soon would make a mark as a gifted athlete and leader. In 1971, DAVIS was the starting quarterback of the freshman team (Boomers), as first year-freshman football players did not become eligible to play varsity football until the 1972 season. In 1973, after a red-shirt year, Steve DAVIS earned the starting position as the OU quarterback. In the next three seasons, under Head Coach Barry Switzer, he would lead the Sooners to a 32-1-1 record, three Big Eight Conference Championships, two National Championships(74-75) and the 1976 Orange Bowl and in every game the Sooners played on national television. He was a two-time team captain of the Sooners during 1974-75 seasons and was honored by the Orange Bowl as a Hall of Fame inductee in 2007 along with Fred Smith, founder of Federal express and John Hannah, an All American offensive lineman from the University of Alabama. DAVIS' 32-1-1 record as a three-year starting quarterback, was the most wins of any OU quarterback in history until Landry Jones, a four year starter, established a new record in the 2012 season. Steve was the Big Eight Newcomer of the Year in 1973, and shared the 1975-76 Christian Athlete of the Year from the National Fellowship of Christian Athletes Association with Archie Griffin of Ohio State and Kent Benson of University of Indiana. Steve DAVIS has been a regarded public speaker since his days as a high schooler from Sallisaw. During his collegiate  career and beyond, DAVIS spoke at many major events and programs nationally and statewide. In 1975, during his senior season at Oklahoma, steve spoke at the Billy Graham Crusade in Lubbock, Texas. The broadcast aired nationally the night before the 1975 Nebraska game. He has also spoken at most of the state Southern Baptists Youth Conferences, and to the National Southern Baptist Convention in Miami, Fla. He is a national voice for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the University of Oklahoma. DAVIS remains an in-demand speaker to business professionals and college campuses and high schools to speak to a variety of subjects. He has spoken at many of the most regarded churches in America; First Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas; Bellevue Baptist, Memphis, Tenn; Second Baptist, Houston, Texas; University Baptist Church, Coral Gales, Fla; and Prestonwood Baptist, Plano, Texas. Steve continued to speak nationally for his passions and faith. Following his years at OU, DAVIS was hired in 1976 by ABC Sports, New York as the youngest football analyst ever to work for the network. DAVIS commenced a dual professional career as a broadcaster and executive of the Tulsa-based, NYSE company, Helmerich & Payne, an international drilling and production company. DAVIS enjoyed an 18-year network broadcast career with ABC,CBS and ESPN, having broadcast virtually every major college football rivalry game in America and many of the most significant post-season games during those years. DAVIS stepped away from the broadcast booth to follow his son's (Bo) athletic career at Jenks High School in Oklahoma and as a baseball player at the University of Missouri. Additionally, DAVIS'broadcast career was distinguished by the broadcast partners he worked with over the years, as he shared the microphone with Keith Jackson, Al Michaels, Vern Lundquist, Gary Bender, Lindsey Nelson, Jim Lampley, Jim Simpson, Brent Musburger and other distinguished network broadcasters. During the 2012 season, Davis was the in-studio analyst for "Game Day," the pre-game show broadcast on the new Sooner Network, airing on FOX SW, for the University of Oklahoma. Professionally, he would launch, grow, maintain and sell multiple companies over his career before creating a real estate development company. In 1998, DAVIS established the Rainmaker Group that would develop multiple, life-style, residential properties in the Tulsa and Oklahoma City metros, and in Northwest Arkansas. In 2010, DAVIS and his business partner and fiance Fran EVANS, established the Pascova Group. The Pascova Group is currently developing a national network of pediatric and adolescent health and wellness, primary care medical office facilities. Steve is a member of the First Baptist Church, Tulsa, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Varsity "O" Club-University of Oklahoma and a student of college football and spiritual leadership. Steve began flying with his father at an early age and obtained his pilot's license  as a teenager. Flying was a passion for Steve and he was an instrument/multi-engine rated pilot. Steve was an avid reader, a passionate mentor and touched many lives. Steve died in a plane crash on Sunday, March 17, in South Bend, Indiana. Steve is survived by his parents, James and Pat DAVIS of Sallisaw; his fiancee, Fran EVANS of Tulsa; son Bo DAVIS and daughter-in-law, Marcy DAVIS; granddaughter, Sophie DAVIS; and grandson, Hudson DAVIS of Tulsa; his brother, Joe DAVIS and sister-in-law, Barbara DAVIS; and nieces, Lindsay DAVIS. Jessica DAVIS, and Hailey DAVIS of Tulsa; his brother Todd DAVIS and sister-in-law, Susie DAVIS; nephews, Drew DAVIS. Brooks DAVIS and niece  Macy DAVIS of Griffin, Ga.; and Steve's two nephews Tucker and Hunter DAVIS.  Steve's extended family includes Peggy ZULKEY of Tulsa, Mike and Marsha ZULKEY of Valliant, Dr Minta TAUER of Tulsa, Dr Mark and June ZULKEY of Orangeburg, S C, and Martha ZULKEY of Tulsa. Steve is preceded in death by his brother, George DAVIS of Sallisaw; and his uncle, Leroy ZULKEY of Tulsa. Wanda Lee McCONNELL, 81, of Vian passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2013, in Muskogee. She was born on March 17, 1932, in Braggs, the daughter of Duke Wilson and Mary Elizabeth (McBEE) THOMAS. She married Mike McCONNELL on June 16, 1949, in Sallisaw. Mrs. McCONNELL was a retired nurse’s assistant, a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Survivors are two daughters and one son-in-law, Susan Carol McCONNELL of Tahlequah and Denise Lea and Jeff BEMO of Muskogee; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Steven Mike and Karen McCONNELL and Nelson Glen McCONNELL, all of Ponca City and Leslie Alan and Debbie McCONNELL of Evening Shade; 11 grandchildren, Darcy McCONNELL, Matthew and Mary GEER, Jeremy McCONNELL, Brent and Leslie McCONNELL, Sarah RODGERS, Alan BEMO, Jennifer INGOLD, Liz McCONNELL and Danielle McCONNELL; 10 great-grandchildren, Bailey Kate, Halle Grace, Fisher, Alison, Lyric, Jaedyn, Michael Layne, Dylan, Payton and Oaks Maker; and one sister, Ellen Jo TERRY. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Mike McCONNELL; her parents; her aunt who raised her, Maudie Lee McBEE SMITHSON WEBSTER; one sister, Mary Thomas RANDLE; a half-sister, Shirley DOTSON; and two brothers, Cecil and W.A. SMITHSON. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Vian Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be held at Barnoskie Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Charles “Chuck” ROBERDS, 73, of Muldrow passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was born on Nov. 19, 1939, in Weiner, Ark., the son of Charles Arville “Pete” and Martha Katherine (WORDEN) ROBERDS. He married Doris Christine “Dodie” TAYLOR on May 24, 1963, in Stilwell. He was a U.S. Airforce veteran, retired from the Purchasing Department at First National Bank of Fort Smith, a lifetime member of VFW Post 8394 and a Protestant. Survivors are his wife, Dodie of the home; two daughters and one son-in-law, Leona and David GANN and Linda “Sissy” GANN, all of Muldrow; one granddaughter, Amanda MANUS and husband, Brian of Alma, Ark.; four great-grandchildren, Jackie, Caitlin, Cody and Desi; one sister, Doris GIBSON of Beebe, Ark.; Kaitlyn KELTON, whom he loved as a grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Nell McKINNEY and Dot SMITH; and one brother, Kenny ROBERDS. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at the Agent & Mallory-Martin Chapel in Muldrow with Bro. Billy Marks officiating. Burial will be at Cottonwood Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Muldrow. Funeral services for Dakota Taylor SHARP, 18, of Maple were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2013, at the Muldrow First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Shawn Money officiating. Burial was at Akins Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. He was born on Aug. 30, 1994, in Tahlequah to Corey Michael SHARP and Misty Dawn (BRUTON) SHARP. He died on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, in Oklahoma City. He was a welder. Survivors include his parents, of the home; and grandparents Joe and Darlene BRUTON of Sallisaw. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Judy and Bob SHARP; and a cousin. Pallbearers were Dennis Walters, Kyle Slaughter, Cody Lucas, J.D. Smith, Cannon Harrison, Dillion Chuculate and Jacob Lattimore.

Memorial services for Samuel Lee WOODY, 35, of Sallisaw will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013, at the Agent & Mallory-Martin Chapel in Sallisaw with the Rev. Monroe Lowrimore and Bro. Harold Cathy officiating under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. WOODY was born on Nov. 11, 1977, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Foreman Lee “Squeaky” WOODY and Shirley Ann (HERDER) WOODY. He died on Thursday, March 14, 2013, in Sallisaw. He was a truck driver. Survivors include his mother, of Muldrow; one sister, Rebecca WOODY of Fort Smith; and several other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services for James “Jimbo” WORTHAM, 28, of Spiro are being held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at the Mallory-Martin Chapel in Spiro with the Rev. Eddie Blankenship officiating. Burial is at Spiro City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro. Mr. WORTHAM was born on March 2, 1985, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Darrell and Mary (WORTHAM) SPOON. He died on Sunday, March 24, 2013, in Fort Smith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dominos, riding 4-wheelers and spending time with his children and family. Survivors include one daughter, Lindsey WORTHAM of Spiro; one son, James WORTHAM of Spiro; his parents of Spiro; four sisters, Misty WORTHAM of Spiro, Katrina SPOON of Tampa, Texas, Jennifer SPOON and Lisa LITTLE, both of Arkoma; two brothers, Aaron WORTHAM and Marlin WORTHAM, both of Spiro; and several other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother; and three aunts. Pallbearers are Aaron Wortham, Gary Shipman, Nick Bell, Eddie Taylor, Greg Dees and Zach Moers.

Cremation is under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. CHANDLER was born on Feb 18, 1934, in Brushy to Marvin Lee PHILPOT and Bartie Elizabeth BREWER. She died on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, in Sallisaw. She was a home health aide. She married Earl Lee CHANDLER on Oct 3, 1977, in Greenwood, Ark. Survivors include her husband, Earl of the home; five sons, Dennis BREWER, Mike MILLER, Keith MILLER and Chip MILLER, all of Sallisaw and Johnny BREWER of Fort Smith, Ark.; three stepsons, Warren CHANDLER of Ark City, Kansas, William CHANDLER of Vera and Earl CHANDLER of Coweta; one sister, Grace PERRYMAN of Sallisaw; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, Charles, Roy, Norman, Bill, Wes, George and Elzie PHILPOT; two sisters, Cleo JAMISON and Opal PHILPOT; and one granddaughter.

Graveside services for Annie Bell SNOW, 89, of Vian are being held at 1 p m Friday, March 29, 2013, at Sallisaw City Cemetery with Bro Reggie Kelly officiating under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs SNOW was born on Dec 24, 1923, to Jesse Ab CANTRELL and Annie (COLLIE) CANTRELL. She died on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, in Vian. She was a homemaker. She married James Warren SNOW on Oct 12, 1946, in Alabama. He preceded her in death on Feb 16, 1986. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara HIBDON of Tuscambia, Mo., and Janet CARTER of Vian; one brother, Willie CANTRELL of Alabama; and three grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and one son, James Vernon SNOW.

Bobby Joe WATTS was born on Nov 13, 1941, in Sallisaw to Charley Dale and Ada Maudne (PARSONS) WATTS. He married Marilyn Ann WRIGHT on Nov 13, 1993, in Sallisaw. He passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, in Sallisaw at the age of 71. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of the home; two daughters and one son-in-law, Brooke SAMPLES and Beth and Olen CARSON III, all of Sallisaw; two stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Kelli and Danny CLUCK and Debbie and Kevin VARNELL, all of Glenpool; seven grandchildren, Christian, Courtney, Emily, Courtney, Cody, Matthew and Hannah; two great-grandchildren, Saydi and Derek; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Alta PARSONS of Pocola, Barbara and Corky HUNT and Ann and Paul LOOPER, all of Sallisaw and Dale Lynn and Billy VAUGHN of Midway, Tenn.; and several other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service will be held at 2 p m Monday, April 1, 2013, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Sallisaw, with burial in Peters Cemetery under the direction of AGent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Viewing will be from 10 a m to 8 p m Saturday and from 2  to 8 p m Sunday. The family will greet friends from 4 to 6 p m on Sunday at the funeral home.
