Funeral services for Hattie S. BRUCE, 71, of Park Hill, was born Feb. 7, 1932, in Sequoyah County to Floyd FRASIER and Vina (EDWARDS) FRASIER. She died Thursday, April 24, 2003, in Park Hill. She married Carroll BRUCE in 1948 in California. Survivors include her husband, of the home; two daughters, Linda and Glenda; one son, Keith; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruby and Wilma; one brother, Herman; and several nieces nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one sister, George? BRADFORD "Bee" FRAZIER.

Burial is in White Cemetery northwest of Gore, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Gore. She was born on Oct. 1, 1909, in Fayetteville, Ark. to Amos DEEN and Melissa (HART) DEEN. She died Sunday, April 27, 2003, in Gore. She married Jack DOTSON on March 26, 1926, in Braggs. He preceded her in death on Sept. 30, 2001. Survivors include four daughters, Dorothy, Edna, Hazel and Mary; four sons, Kenneth, Otto, Carl and Earl DOTSON of Vian; 28 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruby; and one brother, Ray.
Graveside services for Bruce Edward FIMPLE, 58, of Kibler, Ark., are being held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ark., under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Fort Smith. He was born Feb. 19, 1945, in Fairfield, Calif. He died Monday, April 28, 2003, in his home. Survivors include his wife Evelyn FIMPLE of the home; his mother, Charlotte FIMPLE; one sister, Bobbie; two brothers, David and Michael; three step-daughters, Tammy, Barbara and Patricia; one step-son, Ricky; and eight grandchildren.

Survivors include her parents, Pamela and Daniel OWENS; one sister, Jackie; one brother, Justin; her grandparents, Jean and Thomas WILLIAMS;and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by one uncle, Michael LAMIEWUX.

He died Monday, April 28, 2003, in Vian. He married Audrey COLLINS on June 29, 1942 in Vian. Survivors include his wife, Audrey RITTER of the home; three daughters, Virginia, Phyllis and Tricia; two sons, Dale and Jerry; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wilma; four brothers, T.J., Lyn, Glyn and Jerald and other relatives and friends.

Survivors include one daughter, Stacy; one son, Keith; six grandchildren; her father Earl RISENHOOVER; one sister, Lisa; one brother, Edwin Earl; one niece and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother in November 2000.

He died April 26, 2003, in Tulsa. Survivors include his wife, Shirley (BURNS) STEELEY of the home; two daughters, Delaine and her husband, Randy, and Jennifer and Jack; seven sons, Graig, and Novaline, Terry, Jerry and Tena, Randy and Tiffany, and Jason and Shelly, David and Imogene, and Larry and Debbie; 30 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Ruby, Wanda, Galela, Irene and Alene; and two brothers, Raymond and Mack. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Laura an Katie; one daughter, Judith STEELEY; an one son, Ricky SIZEMORE.

Survivors include, his wife, Anna of Glenpool; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Gary Cody and his wife Susan, and Ken Howard; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and her husband Tim, and Kathryn and her husband Mike; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mabel, Betty, Joann, Phyllis and Carol; and one brother, Donald. Francis W. "Bud" COWAN, 79, passed away May 1, 2003, at his home in Fort Smith, Ark. He was born March 17, 1924, in Clarksville, Ark., to the late Georgia CASTEEL COWAN and William Issac "Ike" COWAN. Funeral services for M. COWAN were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2003, in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Bell of the Kinsley, Kan., Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home, Fort Smith. He was preceded in death by his wife Alma Bernice, his daughter Nancy Sue "Suzy MILLER and his son William Curtis "Bill" COWAN. He is survived by two daughters, L.Lee and Cindie; two sisters, "Butch" and Grace; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Survivors include several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Mrs. OSBURN was also preceded in death by three sisters, Minnie ALLEN, Virgie ALLISON and Maud ALLISON; and five brothers, Sam TURNER, Jim TURNER, Albert TURNER, Lawrence TURNER and Daniel TURNER.

She was born Jan. 20, 1912, in Santa Anna, Texas to Wyatt Edward BAXTER and Lucille Lee (VOLLENTINE) BAXTER. Mrs. THOMPSON married H. Boudinot "Tommy" THOMPSON on Oct. 11, 1933 in Balanger, Texas. He preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 1986.

Burial was in Alva Municipal Cemetery, under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva. She was born March 16, 1916, in Depew to Oliver and Eliza (MUNDY) RICHARDSON. She died Thursday, May 8, 2003, in Beadles Nursing Home in Alva. She married Edward L. "Bud" BARTON on Dec. 24, 193, in Vian. He preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 1988. She married James KINNARD in Alva in Dec. 1991. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Norman and his wife Oleta, and Johnny and his wife, Margaret; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Earl and his wife Jackie; and other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Paul BARTON in 1963; and one brother, Carl WEATHERFORD.

Burial was in Round Mountain Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Gore. She was born April 4, 1911, in Mulberry, Ark. to John Wesley COWETT and Sarah (SHEPHERD) COWETT. She died Saturday, May 10, 2003, in Yukon. She married Roy Melvins BOWLES in 1928 in Fort Smith, Ark. He preceded her in death on Sept. 2 1974. Survivors include one daughter, Ruth; four sons, Melvin, Fred, Howard . and Bobby; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Susie and Augusta. She was also preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Ruby EMERY and three sons, Cecil Odell and Junior BOWLES.

Survivors include her mother; five brothers, Raymond, George Earl, Paul and Frank; one sister, Pearl; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Bob SEAY in 1955.
Barbara Joyce MENTZER, Sallisaw businesswoman and wife of the late State Rep. Don MENTZER (D-Sallisaw), died Saturday, May 10, 2003, in Tulsa. Services for Mrs. MENTZER, 73, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at the First United Methodist Church in Sallisaw with the Rev. David Clewell officiating. Burial was in the Akins Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. MENTZER was born on Oct 11, 929, to J.A. and Mildrene (TURNER) TUTTLE in Blanchard. While in Oklahoma City she met and married Don MENTZER. The couple wed on Sept. 12, 1949. Mrs. MENTZER was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and one grandson, Christopher SCHECHTER. She is survived by two daughters, Mary and her husband, Walter,and Jan and her husband, Eliot; two sons, Jon and Laura, and Bill and his wife, Geri; one sister, Norma Jean; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

He died Saturday, May 10, 2003, in Sallisaw. He married Mary Ann KELLEY on July 22, 1940, in Sallisaw. Survivors include his wife Mary Ann REED of the home; two granddaughters, Shila and Lanette; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Cleon James REED on Jan. 21, 1942.

He married Brenda May COTNER on June 29, 1963 in Stilwell. Survivors include his wife, Brenda May SPEARS of the home; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kristina Dawn, and Shannon Lea and Stuart; six granddaughters; his mother; four sisters, Dorothy, Cathy, Linda and Betty; and five brothers, Orville, Floyd, Rick, Delbert and Gerald. He was preceded in death by his father, and two sisters, Mary Lou SPEARS and Louise SPEARS.
