Fern Ellen CRITES, 79, of Sallisaw, died on Wednesday, April 28, 2004, in Sallisaw. She was born on Dec. 15, 1924, in Little Cedar, Iowa, to Henry J. KETTLESON and Ellen LUMBURGH. She married Charles CRITES in 1945 in Columbus, Ohio. He preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 1996. Survivors include two sons, Jerry William and his wife Debbie, and James and his wife Beverly; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janet and Virginia; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends, including special friend Shirley. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Carol ESLINGER of Iowa.

Funeral services for Kaye MERRILL MAHABB, 56, of Skiatook, formerly of Sallisaw, were held at 2 p.m. on Friday at the Agent Chapel in Sallisaw, with Rev. Dale Phelps officiating. Burial was in Sallisaw City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. She was born on April 27, 1948, in Gans, to Cecil Craig MERRILL and Edith Mae (JACKSON) MERRILL. She married Virgil Ray MAYABB on Oct. 2, 2001, in Eureka Springs, Ark. Survivors include her husband of the home; one daughter, Lisa; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ruth, Pat and Vida and Judy; four brothers, Ollie, Acie, Bobby Jack, and Raymond; two step-daughters, Kathryn and Camille MAYABB of Tulsa; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Burial is in Long Cemetery north of Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow. She was born on May 18, 1942, in Muldrow, to Olen WALLACE and Thelma (SUTTON) WALLACE. She died on Saturday, May 1, 2004, in Roland. Survivors include her mother; one daughter, Cindy; two sons, Christopher Olen and Chaparral O.; six grandchildren; five sisters, Freda and Mable, Barbara, Dana and Audrey; one brother, Eugene; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father; her husband, Jack Benny BAKER in 2002; and one brother, Audrin WALLACE.

Graveside services for Clarence Arthur HERNDON Jr., 81, of Sallisaw, were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Wanette Cemetery, with the Rev. Bill Drywater officiating, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. He was born on Sept. 13, 1922, in Asher, to Clarence Arthur HERNDON Sr. and Nola (BUCKLER) Herndon. He died on Friday, April 30, 2004, in Sallisaw. Survivors include one son, Ben; two daughters, Paula and Dianne; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jim Sr..

Mrs. HOLCOMB was born Aug. 26, 1898, in Minnow Creek community north of Clarksville, Ark., to Daniel Jordan MATTHEWS and Sarah Emmaline (ROBERTS) MATTHEWS. She died Friday, April 30, 2004, in Oklahoma City. She married John E. HOLCOMB on Dec. 26, 1926, in Sallisaw. He preceded her in death on May 1, 1963.    Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Jo Hill and Don; one daughter-in-law; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret and Ruby; four sisters-in-law, Geraldine, Ruby, Janice and Billie ; seven step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 1, 1963; one son, Dr. John Ed HOLCOMB; her parents; four brothers, Roger, Theodore, Ralph and Louis; and two sisters, Norma MATTHEWS and Irene AGENT.

Funeral services for David WILSON, 54, of Muldrow, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith, Ark. Burial will be in U.S. National Cemetery, with full military honors, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith. He was born on March 6, 1950. He died on Monday, May 3, 2004. Survivors include his wife, Gloria WILSON of the home; one son, Michael; four grandchildren; his mother, Elsie WILSON; one sister, Susan; and one brother, Robert J.  He was preceded in death by one daughter, Melissa WILSON and one brother, Richard WILSON.

Graveside services for Carnie Marie "Connie" WOOD, 82, of Longview, Texas, will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2004, at McCoy Cemetery in Sallisaw, with the Rev. Monroe Lowrimore officiating. Mrs. Wood was born on Aug. 21, 1921, in Sallisaw to Clifford M. and Emma (WELCH) CROW. She died on Wednesday, April 21, 2004, in a nursing home. Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Hollis and Jeanne and George; one daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Clayton; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Wanda; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and sister-in-law, George CROW and his wife Marie CROW; and her husbands, Robert Richard BIRD and Hollis B. "Tiny" WOOD.

Anita HOKIT, 63, of Sallisaw, died on Sunday, May 9, 2004, in Sallisaw. She was born on March 11, 1941, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Edward HOKIT and Etta (MATTOX) HOKIT. Arrangements were under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Survivors include five daughters, Teresa, Pamela Ruth, Susan Renae, Jami Lynn and Janet Christine; one son, James William; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara; and one brother, Arley.

He married Irene TROSPER on Nov. 8, 1933, in Torrington, Wyo. His wife of 67 years preceded him in death on May 12, 2001. He died on Tuesday, May 11, 2004, in Fort Smith, Ark.   He married Patricia RIDER in Poteau.  Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Patricia TAYLOR of the home; three daughters, Debi, Brenda and Carol; one son, Harold Wayne; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one step-son, Ronald; one sister, Hazel; and one brother, Bill. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Eldon "Tweety" TAYLOR; one son, Edgar Lee TAYLOR; and one daughter, Kathy TAYLOR.

He was born on Aug. 21, 1935, in Cheyenne, to Ira DOUGLAS and Florence HERZBERG. He died on Monday, May 10, 2004, in Fort Smith, Ark. He married Renee RILEY in 1973 in Tyler, Texas.Survivors include his wife Renee DOUGLAS of the home; one daughter, Sabrina; four sons, Michael, Lee Wesley, Stanley Richard and John Benjamin; six grandchildren; one sister, Rae; three brothers, John, Gene and Donald; and two step-sons, Lloyd Albert and Phillip Eugene. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Lewis Wesley DOUGLAS and Glen D. DOUGLAS Jr.; one brother, Ira Burl DOUGLAS; and two step-daughters, Barbara Ann LEGATE and Patricia Ann HAMILTON.  

Graveside services for Jean Adams FLOYD, 77, of Van Buren, Ark., were held Saturday at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ark., under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren. He died on Saturday, May 15, 2004, in Sallisaw. He married Opal HARMON on Dec. 14, 1946. Survivors include his wife, Opal HALL of the home; two daughters and one son-in-law, Dorothy and Larry, and Barbara; one son and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Swann; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Rosie and Betty PITTS, and Patsy HALL; and three brothers, Leroy, Lyndell and Harold. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Floy JOHNSON.

Funeral services for Jessie R. HASTINGS, 91, of Vian, were held Monday at Ocker Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren, Ark. Burial was in Peevyhouse Cemetery in Van Buren, under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren. She died on May 14, 2004, in an area hospital. Burial is in Greenhill Cemetery in Muskogee, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Gore. He was born on March 7, 1935, in Texas, to Roy Boyd TYLER and Laverne (HOWELLl) TYLER. He died on Monday, May 17, 2004, in Warner. He married Barbara PURDOM on Feb. 19, 1982, in Muskogee. Survivors include his wife, Barbara TYLER of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Eva and David, and Lori and Kent and Kathy and Terry; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Lisa and Roger and Kim; 20 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Stanley; one step-daughter, Debbie; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two step-sons, David and Richard SELLERS.

Alecia WILLIAMS, 40, formerly of Muldrow, died Sunday, May 9, 2004, in an Oklahoma hospital. Private memorial services were held in the home of her close family members. Mrs. WILLIAMS is survived by her husband; one son; one granddaughter; her parents; and two brothers.

Graveside services for Lillie Mae ASBILL, 89, of Sallisaw, were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, at the Northview Cemetery north of Sallisaw, with Rev. Leroy Reid officiating, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. She was born on Dec. 14, 1914, in Sequoyah County, to Sequoyah BALDRIDGE and Lou HINES. Mrs. Asbill was a homemaker and longtime member of the Church of Christ. She married Grady Nathaniel ASBILL on Nov. 23, 1936, in Sequoyah County. He preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 1991. Survivors include three sons, Mike, Ronnie and Gary; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Rachel; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by one infant daughter, Judy Gwen ASBILL; and one granddaughter, Melissa.

He died on Thursday, May 27, 2004, in Fort Smith, Ark. Mr. DENNY married Lillian EAGLE on July 3, 1960, in Stilwell. Survivors include his wife, Lillian DENNY of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and her husband Terry; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Danny, Wayne and his wife Dawn, Paul, and John and his wife Kelly; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Imogene and one brother, Eddie. He preceded her in death on March 10, 1987.  Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Mack; nieces and nephews that she reared in her home, John, Jacob Scott, Cynthia, Frances and Susan; and her other nieces and nephews including Terry and Sherry, and Ruthie Lynn; and great nieces and nephews, Jeremy and Brent, Sarah Gooch, Michelle, Melinda, Jennifer and Brock, Kaleb and Kristen, Alexis and Brooklyn. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Dora and her husband Claude "Dink", and Mary "DeeDee" and her husband Leon, and Patty and her husband, the Rev. Lawrence; one son, Raymond and his wife Carol ; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Mrs. YAHOLA was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond YAHOLA Sr. and two brothers, Charlie HESS and Red MILLER.
