Funeral services for Lee Wright CROSSWHITE, 65, of Charleston, Ark., are being held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Charleston. Burial is in Gill Cemetery in Van. Buren. Mrs. CROSSWHITE died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, in a local hospital. Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Wendell CROSSWHITE of the home; one daughter, Deborah Ann; three sons, Michael, Larry and Michael two sisters, Norma and Donna; one brother, Thomas E.; one half- brother, Wesley; 22 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Paul E. DYE, 76, of Fort Smith, Ark., died Saturday, Oct. 28, 200, in a local hospital. Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren, Ark. Survivors include his companion, Alberta; one daughter, Brenda; three sons, Roger, Bobby and Jimmy; one sister, Irene; one brother, Danny; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Grace Imogene JONES, 83, of Muldrow are being held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Gans Bible Church, with the Rev. Joe Fowler officiating. Burial is in Gans Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Muldrow. Mrs. JONES was born May 20, 1917, in Muldrow, to William Cleveland SPARKMAN and Emilee Katherine (PALMER) SPARKMAN. She died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, in Fort Smith, Ark. She married William Chester "Bill" JONES March 2, 1963, in Fort Smith. He preceded her in death May 2, 1997. Survivors include one stepdaughter, Verna; two stepsons, Joe and Gene; and two brothers, Kenneth and Charles "Sonny".

Mr. KENNEDY was born July 5, 1973, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Olen Lee KENNEDY Sr. and Drusilla Sue (YOUNG) KENNEDY BARNES. He died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, in Vian. Survivors include his companion, Stacy; his father Olen Lee KENNEDY Sr.; three half-sisters, Matilda, Shannon, and Sandra; four half-brothers, Colen, Everett Jr., Tyrell and Edward Jr.; his maternal grandmother, Maxine; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Barbara Lee MARTIN, 73, of Muldrow were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Agent Chapel in Muldrow, with the Rev. Mike Love officiating. Burial was in the U. S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ark., under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Muldrow. Mrs. MARTIN was born April 14, 1927, in Dorris, Calif., to Henry Louis MITCHELL and Gracie Lee (THOMAS) MITCHELL. She died Friday Oct. 27, 2000, in Fort Smith. She married Thomas Lindsey MARTIN July 22, 1955, in Greenwood, Ark. Survivors include her husband, Tom Martin of the home; four sons, Tony , Wayne, Wade and Roger; four grandchildren; and one sister, Joy; Mrs. MARTIN was preceded in death by one son, Bryan Wayne MARTIN; her parents; and one brother, Loyd MITCHELL.
Ollie Marie MULLEN, 86, of Grove died Friday, Oct. 27, 2000, at the Grove General Hospital. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Worley-Lunginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, with the Rev. Dolphus Blevins officiating. Burial was in the Marble City Cemetery, under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home. Mrs. MULLEN was born Oct. 24, 1914, in Cookson, to George and Minnie (TOUNZEN) WATKINS. She married Virgil MULLEN Feb. 16, 1935, in Marble City. He preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Paul and Frank; three daughters, Oleta, Virginia and Evelyn; 23 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. Mrs. MULLEN was also preceded in death by two sons, Otis MULLEN and Claude Winford MULLEN.

Mrs. PHILPOT was born April 30, 1923, in Mena, Ark., to Jesse and Jennie Bell (MILLER) BOONE. She died Friday Oct. 27, 2000, in Fort Smith, Ark. She married James Wendell PHILPOT Oct. 18, 1965, in Stigler. Survivors include her husband, James PHILPOT of the home; two daughters, Cheryl and Linda;; four sons, Robert, Tim, Rick, and James Lee; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Opal and Mildred; Mrs. PHILPOT was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Martin McAFEE; her parents; and one sister, Lawassa MATTOX. Graveside services for Merle C. REMER, 79, of Vian were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gore City Cemetery, with the Rev. Laymon Garrison officiating. Mr. REMER was born Jan. 8, 1921, in Drumright, to Edward and Dora (BOFFEE) REMER. He died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, at his home. He married Geneva INGLE Sept. 19, 1946, in the Carlile community. Survivors include his wife, Geneva REMER of the home; two sons, Dewey and Johnny; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Hazel. Mr. REMER was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Helen, Gladys and Francis; and two brothers, Henry and Dee. Arrangements were under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Gore.

Mrs. WALKUP was born May 28, 1908, in Sequoia, in the Remy community, north of Roland, to Oscar and Havy E. COOK. She died Monday, Oct. 16, 2000, in Porterville. Survivors include eight sons, James, Chester, Dallas, Arlin, LeRoy, Veston, Ed, and Danny; 28 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Alice and Lenora; and many other relatives and friends. Mrs. WALKUP was preceded in death by her husband, Paris Deleon WALKUP in 1971; and two daughters, Otha OVERSTREET and Naomi BRITT, both in 1999.

Survivors include one daughter, Sophelia; two step-daughters, Lottie and Georgia; five sons, Leon, Teddy, Ed, Everett and Harrison; three sisters, Louise, Daisy and Mildred; three brothers, Charlie, Jacob, and Gerald; 24 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for L.J. "Jim" CAPPS, 87, of Roland are being held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Liberty Cemetery, north of Roland, with Bro. Bob Miller officiating. Mr. CAPPS was born June 9, 1913, in the Liberty community, to Perry and Zula (ROGERS) CAPPS. He died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, in Roland. Survivors include one son, Jim Ray; one half sister, Judy; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Mr. CAPPS was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Carroll CAPPS in 1995; and eight brothers and sisters. Arrangements are under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Roland.

Mr. GOIN was born Dec. 28, 1916 in Tennessee, to Howard and Della (SHARP) GOIN. He died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, in Vian. He married Ruth Valentin STRESSMAN June 6, 1964, in Howard City, Mich. Survivors include his wife, Ruth GOIN of the home; one step-daughter, Brenda; one son, Jerry W.; two step-sons, Jim and Pat; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Mr. GOIN was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters. Arrangements were under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.

Survivors include her husband, John of the home; two sons, J.C. and Grady; one sister, Bonita; one brother, Arvil; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She died Nov. 1, 2000, in a Fort Smith, Ark., hospital. She married Richard Perry WHEELER June 2, 1951, at the First Methodist Church in Sallisaw with the Rev. Hoole officiating. Survivors include her husband, Richard Perry WHEELER of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynelle and David, and Jo and Lance; one son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Becky; eight grandchildren; four sisters, Louella, Addie, Zula and Myrna; and three brothers, John, Richard, and Charlie. Mrs. WHEELER was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Coleman CHILDERS and St. Elmo CHILDERS.

He died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, in Sallisaw. He married Flora WASHINGTON April 26, 1938, in Cherokee County. She preceded him in death May 14, 1989. Burial was in Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta, under the direction of Shurden Funeral Home in Henryetta. Mrs. BEEN was born Feb. 16, 1919, in Ryal, to George and Emma (RYAL) HAMILTON. She died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000, in Henryetta. She married Carrol Melvin BEEN March 5, 1938, in Holdenville. He preceded her in death in 1967. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Carrol and Linda, and John and Jackie; one daughter and son-in-law, EmmaLu and Bernie; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy and Eunice; one brother, Wilson; and many nieces and nephews and friends. Mrs. BEEN was also preceded in death by her parents; and several brothers and sisters.
