Funeral services for Halleck Morten "Mort" BARNHILL, 42, of Arkoma are being held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Agent Chapel in Muldrow. Burial is in Roland City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Muldrow. Mr. BARNHILL was born Nov. 12, 1955, in Needles, Calif., to Halleck Luther BARNHILL and Helen Rude (EDWARDS) BARNHILL. He died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1998, in Arkoma. He married Joyce Kay WILKINS Feb. 20, 1976, in Booneville, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Joyce BARNHILL of the home; three daughters, Janis, Stephanie and Tammara; his mother, Helen Rude; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. Mr. BARNHILL was preceded in death by one brother, Elmo BARNHILL in 1989.
Funeral services Leaton E. DEESE, 70, of Sallisaw are being held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Agent Chapel in Sallisaw, with the Rev. Carl Daniels officiating. Burial is in Sallisaw City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mr. DEESE was born Dec. 3, 1927, in the Liberty community, to William Ed DEESE and Beatrice Belle WATERS. He died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1998, in Fort Smith, Ark. He married Margaret Maydean BRUTON Oct. 19, 1959, in Stilwell. Survivors include his wife, Margaret DEESE of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Mike; one son, Terry; one grandson, Micah; one sister, Cletis; and four brothers, Herbert, Louie, Cleo and Lester. Mr. DEESE was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah DEESE, three brothers and one sister.
Graveside services for Elsie Mae JOHNSON, 74, of Muskogee were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sallisaw City Cemetery, with the Rev. John H. Ewart officiating. Mrs. JOHNSON was born July 11, 1924, in Sallisaw, to Will and Stella (WOOD) TWEEDY. She died Monday, Sept. 28, 1998, in Muskogee. She married William Henry JOHNSON Aug. 19, 1947, in Fort Smith, Ark. He preceded her in death Dec. 26, 1986. Survivors include two daughters Evelyn Marie and Nancy; one son, Charles Arlo; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her father, Will TWEEDY; three sisters, Lula Bell, Lois Ann and Dorothy; and three brothers, Shelby, Leroy and Robert. Arrangements were under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.
Funeral services for Patty Ann KILLER,
34, of Muldrow were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Belfonte Baptist Church, with
Martin Cochran officiating. Burial was in Belfonte Cemetery, under the direction
of Mallory-Wheeler Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Ms. KILLER was born Sept. 12,
1964, in Tahlequah, to Charlie and Ledia Mae (COLEMAN) KILLER. She died Sunday,
Sept. 27, 1998, at W. W. Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah.
Survivors include her parents, Charlie and Ledia Mae KILLER; two sisters
and one brother-in-law, Charlene and Don, and Amy; two brothers, Norman and
Jeff; one niece, Cynthia; and two nephews, Les and Kendal.
Services for James G. "Tony" MARTIN, 83,
of Sallisaw were held at 1 p.m. Monday at the V.F.W Post No. 8384 in Muldrow,
with Dr. Lee Woodard officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Agent
Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mr. MARTIN was born June 23, 1915, in Murchison,
Texas, to Jessie James MARTIN and Gertie MARTIN. He died Saturday, Sept.
26, 1998, in Sallisaw. He married Ruth Evelyn FRIEND Feb. 4, 1951, in Bacliff,
Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth MARTIN of the home; two daughters, Sandra
and Marilyn Amy; two sons, James Paul and David; eight grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren; three brothers, Arthur , Richard and Jessie; one sister,
Thelma; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Mr. MARTIN was preceded in death by one step-son, Stephen Michael JONES.
Jimmie D. WRIGHT, 73, of Vian died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1998, at his home in Vian. A memorial service will be held at a later date by the family. The son of Jimmie D. WRIGHT, he was born Dec. 28, 1910, in Vian. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Ann, Laura and Esther; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister Odessa; and one brother, Leon. Cremation was under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw.
Funeral services for Venyon "Kewpie" TABOR YANCEY, 73, of Ontario, Calif., formerly for Muldrow, were held at 11 a.m. Sept. 22 at Draper Memorial Chapel in Ontario, with the Rev. Richard Cooke officiating. Interment was in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Covina Hills, Calif., under the direction of Draper Mortuary. Mrs. YANCEY was born Oct. 8, 1924, in Muldrow to Charles Edgar TABOR and Velma BRYANT TABOR. She died Thursday, Sept. 17, 1998, at Upland, Calif., Convalescent Hospital from complication of diabetes. She married Dewayne PALMER in Sallisaw in the mid 1940s. He preceded her in death. In the late 1940s, she married Homer L. YANCEY of Jacksonville, Texas. Survivors include her husband, Homer L. YANCEY; two daughters, Linda and Ann; two sons, Gene and Joe D.; one sister, Diane; three brothers, Rex, Doyle and Bill J.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several aunts uncles and cousins. Mrs. YANCEY was also preceded in death by her parents, Charles Edgar TABOR and Velma BRYANT TABOR BUFFINGTON, her grandparents, Samuel WOODS BRYANT and Hattie HAYS BRYANT, and John Henry TABOR and Lori (ROBARBS) TABOR and one half brother, Thurman I. TABOR.
Graveside services for James E. ABNEY, 82, of Fort Smith, Ark. were held at 1 p.m. Friday at U. S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith. Mr. ABNEY died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 1998, at his home. Survivors include three daughters, Madeline, Carolyn and Penny; one brother Charles; four grandchildren; one nephew; and one great-grandson. Arrangements were under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith.
Funeral services for Nancy Carol ADKINS, 51, of Cedarville, Ark., were held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Edwards Van-Alma Chapel in Van Buren, Ark. Burial was in Gill Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren. Mrs. ADKINS died Monday, Sept. 28, `1998, in a local hospital. Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Elbert ADKINS; four daughters, Zoe Carol, Rebecca Jean, Teresa Bell and Laura Ann; two sons, David Eugene and Jacky Dale; three sisters, Elizabeth, Marie and Georgie; two brothers, David and Vernon; 16 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Mrs. ADKINS was preceded in death by her parents, John and Isabell STEVENS, and one sister, Elsie CLINE.
Funeral services for Jackie Ray BALDWIN, 60, of Derby, Kan., were held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Messiah Baptist Church in Wichita, Kan., with the Rev. Bill Riffe officiating. Burial was in Bazaar Cemetery in Bazaar, Kan., under the direction of Smith Family Mortuaries in Derby. Mr. BALDWIN was born Aug. 20, 1938, in Wichita. He died Monday, Sept. 28, 1998. Survivors include his wife, Donna BALDWIN of Derby; two sons, Rick and Jack; two daughters, Cindy and Debbie; one sister, Nancy; and nine grandchildren.
Graveside services for Walter Ervin BROCK, 64, of Pocola were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at U. S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ark. Mr. BROCK died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 1998, at his home. Survivors include his wife, Rhonda of the home; three daughters, Toni, Tami, and Traci; two sons, Walter E. and Les; two sisters, Ella Mae and Marie; two brothers, William Eugene and Charles Dewayne; and 14 grandchildren. Mr. BROCK was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Anna (SHEARS) BROCK. Arrangements were under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home in Spiro.

Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. COPELAND was born April 21, 1945, in Boise, Idaho, to Billy A. BROWN and Zelma Marie (ELLENBERG) BROWN. She died Monday, Oct. 5, 1998, in Sallisaw. She married Ronald Gene COPELAND June 26, 1976, in Oklahoma City. Survivors include her husband Ron of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kelli and Brad, and Tracy and Bryon; one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Kathy; eight grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Billy Marie and Henry; one nephew, Christopher; four step-children, Dovie, David, Donna and Ronnie; and numerous relatives and friends. Mrs. COPELAND was preceded in death by one grandson, Joseph HUDLER in March 1996, and one niece, Telaine NEDD in July 1985.

Mr. DEMLER was born Nov. 12, 1918, in Virgil, to Charles Albert DEMLER and Ina Mary (DAME) DEMLER. He died Saturday, Oct. 3, 1998, in Gore. He married Barbara Jean DEMLER Nov. 16, 1957, in Miami. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jean DEMLER of the home; four daughters, Iva Marie, Meriam Kay, Elizabeth Ann and Laura Lea; one son, Charles Edward; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Hattie of the home; four daughters, Doretha, Jeannie, Ora "Oleta", and Bonita; two sisters, Libby and Pat; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. SMITH was born Jan. 2, 1909, in the Round Mountain community, to John James SMITH and Maggie Ada (SPECK) SMITH. He died Saturday, Oct. 3, 1998, in Muskogee. He married Chloe Elizabeth BERRY Aug. 27, 1932, in Vian. Survivors include his wife, Chloe E. SMITH of the home; three daughters, Willa Jean, Mary Ruth and Kitty Lynn; four sons, Jim, Bib, Bill and Jerry Lee; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dicie.

Mr. CARROLL was born May 1, 1924, in Seminole, to Harry and Amanda Elizabeth (MITCHELL) SWEENEY. He died Friday, Oct. 9, 1998, in Fort Smith, Ark. He married Lucille Velma REYNOLDS in 1958 in Wichita, Kan. She preceded him in death Oct. 28, 1987. Survivors include five daughters, Bettie, Betty Gail, Merlene and Billie Jean and Maxine; three sons, Jerry Wayne, Albert Junior, and Johnnie Lee; one step-son, Mark; one step-daughter, Lena; 25 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Ruth, Bill, Edith, and Alta, and Lena; one half brother, Gerald; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Patrica Jean "Patti" COLEMAN, 70, of Sallisaw died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 1998, in Sallisaw. She was born May 30, 1928, in Prague to Leo and Georgia (LONEY) GRAVITT. She married Kenneth COLEMAN April 4, 1947, in Prague. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth COLEMAN of the home; one daughter, Jerri Sue; two sons, Don and Richard; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Shiela; and two brothers, Donald L. and Bennie. Survivors include two daughters, Jody and Connie; one son, Danny Ray; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda; two brothers, Jimmy and Dexter Lee; and other relatives and friends. Services for Jesse Paul " J. P." FULTS, 88, of Sallisaw will be held at a later date in Iowa. Burial will be in Overman Cemetery, near Atalissa, Iowa. Mr. FULTS was born Aug. 4, 1910, in McMinnville, Tenn. to William and Mary Lee (JENNINGS) FULTS. He died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1998, in Sallisaw. He married Marjorie KNICKERBOCKER. She preceded him in death Jan. 14, 1992. Survivors include one son, Paul Sherman; two grandchildren; one sister, Joy; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends including his niece and nephew, Mary Lee and Ray KITTRELL; with whom he made his home the last few years. Funeral services for Woodrow "Woody" McCUTCHEON, 77, of Warner were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fields Cemetery in Porum, with the Rev. John Ewart officiating.. Mr. McCUTCHEON was born May 12, 1921, in Boone County, Ark., to General James and Mary McCUTCHEON. He died Monday, Oct. 12, 1998, in Warner. Survivors include the mother of his children, Gale McCUTCHEON; his children, Joan, Butch and his wife Marlyn, Martha and her husband, Andy, Gwen and her husband, Rick, and Gerald and his wife, Jennifer; one sister Doskie; one brother, Peck; one sister-in-law, Thelma; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. MORTON was born Sept. 4, 1902, in Stilwell, to Sam and Mary Ann (MOTON) MORTON. He died Thursday, Oct. 8, 1998, at Sequoyah Manor Nursing Home in Sallisaw. He married Virgie MILLER. She preceded him in death. Survivors include three daughters, Virginia, Nadien and Irene; two sons, John "Buck" and Lage; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Mr. MORTON was also preceded in death by his parents, one son Ewell, two grandchildren, Freida WILEY and Chylane BIRDWELL, five sisters and one brother. Mrs. PRICE was born Sept. 28, 1938, in Hulbert, to William Henry BOTTS and Iva Lena (JENKINS) BOTTS. She died Saturday, Oct. 10, 1998, in Fort Smith, Ark. She married Woodrow PRICE JR. Dec. 25, 1980, in Wagoner. Survivors include her husband Woodrow PRICE Jr., of the home; three daughters, Sherry , Beverly and Michelle; one son, Benny; two step-daughters, Karen and Wendy; two step-sons, Phillip and Donald; 13 grandchildren; her mother, Iva Lena SHIPLEY; three sisters, Wanda, Shirley, Ruth; four brothers, Will, Bobby, Raymond and Randy; and one half-brother, Billy. Survivors include five daughters, Jeanie Mae, Bertha, Teri, Mary Lou, and Betty; five sons, Eugene, Bob, David, Bill, and Glenn; two sisters, Pearl and Dovie; seven brothers, George, Melvin , Glendon , John, Charlie and Lee ; 28 grandchildren; and 49 great-grandchildren.

Ms. THREADGILL died Friday, Oct. 9, 1998, in a Fort Smith hospital. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Valerie; her step-mother, Pearly ; three sisters, Jean, Myrtle and Carolyn Sue; two brothers, Thomas and J. with the Rev. Chris Armer officiating. Mrs. TRAMMELL was born April 8, 1918,
in Pindall, Ark., to Charles Robert FOWLER and Zella Elizabeth (MORGAN) FOWLER.
She died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 1998, in Sallisaw. She married James Walter TRAMMELL
Jan. 19, 1934, in Pindall. He preceded her in death Dec. 11, 1977.
Survivors include two daughters, Zella and Cora; three sons, Ivan, Leon and
Russell; 20 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; three
great-great-grandchildren; five sisters, Caroline, Mildred, Leota, Betty
and Ada; and six brothers, Clayton, Bill, Frank, Elmer, Jess and Clinton.

Burial was in McCoy Cemetery, northwest of Sallisaw, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. JAMISON was born May 10, 1932, in Gans to Elamanders and Edna (COX) STEVENS. She died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998, in Sallisaw. She married Harold Wayne JAMISON April 29, 1950, in Tulsa. He preceded her in death Oct. 13, 1986. Survivors include five daughters and four sons-in-law, Carma, Tonya and Jim, and Vondal and Tim, Lynola and Berry, and Peggy and Dan; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Darrell, James and Lisa, and Eddie; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and one brother, Dale.

Burial was in Seabolt Cemetery, under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home in Stilwell. Mrs. KIMBLE was born June 15, 1935, in Nicut to Ray and Flossie (SEARAT) WALTERS. She died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1998 at St. Edwards Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith, Ark. She married Albert KIMBLE Nov. 13, 1954. Survivors include her husband, Albert KIMBLE of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Teressia and Jim, and Karen Sue and Dennis; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Martin "Bud" and Tonya, and Jim; one brother, Johnnie; three sisters, Eunice, Jo Ann and Janie; four grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Mrs. KIMBLE was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Steven Ray KIMBLE, one sister Euna LAWSON, and one brother, Buford WALTERS.

Burial was in Keota City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Mrs. LAWSON was born Jan. 28, 1915, in the Bennington community, to Jess and Estelle (BOBO) PROCK. She died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1998, in Sallisaw. She married Monroe James LAWSON Sept. 8, 1932, in the Bennington community. He preceded her in death Nov. 13, 1979. Survivors include one son, Don; two daughters, Betty and Linda; four grandsons; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mabel, Jean, and Ramona; two brothers, Hershel and L. D.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Mrs. LAWSON was also preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Nevada FETTERS and Alice JOHNSON.

She died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998, in Stigler. She married William Earl Richardson July 3, 1954, and was a homemaker. He preceded her in death Feb. 19, 1963. Survivors include one daughter, Sharon; one son, William Earl Jr. and his wife, Linda; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Geneva and Bill, and Lydia and Chuck; one brother Eugene; and three grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, William MURPHY and one grandchild, Ashlin RICHARDSON.
Graveside services for Judge John Quincy ADAMS, 78, (Lt. Col., Ret.) of Sallisaw were held at 2 p.m. Monday at U. S. National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, with Dr. J. D. Ward officiating. Mr. ADAMS was born Dec. 14, 1919, in Vinita, to Dr. Felix M. ADAMS and Mamie (BUTLER) ADAMS. He died Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998, in Muskogee. He married Dee Dee Redbird ADAMS in February 1970 in Hot Springs, Ark. Survivors include his wife Dee Dee Redbird ADAMS of the home; three sons, Brad, Phil, and Quincy; and several grandchildren. Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Dr. Felix ADAMS, and one sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Dr. Phil SALKELD.
