Funeral services for Truman ALSTON, 58, of Tulsa, are being held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Reed-Culver Chapel in Tahlequah with Revs. Eddie Davis and Lance Cole officiating. Burial is in Lone Elm Cemetery in Ozark, Ark., under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah. Mr. ALSTON was born Dec. 28, 1948, in Crawford County, Ark., to Thurman Edward and Verna Rae (MORRELL) ALSTON. He died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006, in Tulsa. Survivors include his daughter, Heather Shanelle; two brothers, Ronnie K. and Kenny Ray and wife, Vickie; one sister, Carolyn J.; three grandchildren; nine nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Eddie Leon ALSTON and Randel Morrell ALSTON.

Funeral services for Karen Wynn WOOLBRIGHT GHEEN, 50, of Springdale, Ark., formerly of Fort Smith, Ark., were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the St. Paul United Methodist Church. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery in Vian, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith. Mrs. GHEEN died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006, in Little Rock, Ark. Survivors include her husband, Tom GHEEN of Springdale; two daughters, Cori and her husband James and Nicki; two sons, Eric and his wife Lindsay and Tommy; and brothers, Rich and Bill. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Marj WOOLBRIGHT and brother Hal WOOLBRIGHT.

Funeral services for Iris J. GLASS, 65, of Fayetteville, Ark., were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Springdale, Ark., with Rev. Charlie Foster officiating. Burial was in Farmington Cemetery in Farmington, Ark., under the direction of Moore's Chapel of Fayetteville. Mrs. GLASS was born May 11, 1941, in Waldo, Ark., to Harry and Henrietta (McCLAIN) CLARK. She died Monday, Aug. 28, 2006, in Washington County, Ark. Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Bud GLASS; one son, Stephen; one daughter, Kristi; mother, Henrietta CLARK; three sisters, Patsy, Molly and Kay; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Paul D. PENDERGRASS, 67, of Salliaw, were held at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Fairview Maguire Cemetery in Noble with Wayne Turnbull officiating, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. PENDERGRASS was born Oct. 5, 1938, in Chandler, Ariz., to Tandy L. PENDERGRASS and Vada M. (MOON) PENDERGRASS. He died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include two sisters, Joy and Theda; one brother, Ned; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Billy Joe SHARP, 61, of Muldrow, were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2006, at the Agent Chapel in Muldrow with Rev. Vernon Stone officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow. Mr. SHARP was born Nov. 7, 1944, in Fort Smith, Ark., to Clifford Lefay SHARP and Delta (DAVID) SHARP. He died Friday, Aug. 11, 2006, in Fort Smith. Survivors include two sisters, Maxine and Geneva; five brothers, Lonnie Truman, Virgil Harry, Tommy Ray, David Eugene and Jerry Don. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Clifford Lefay SHARP, Jr., Robert Lee, John Wayne and Leon Henry SHARP.

Burial will be in Flute Springs Cemetery, north of Marble City, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. BUZZARD was born Jan. 8, 1941, in Marble City, to John CHRISTIE and Donnie CHEATER. She died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, in Marble City. She married Leo BUZZARD, April 1961, in Marble City. Survivors include her husband, Leo of the home; two daughters, Lillian and Leonora; three sons, Joe Lee, Milton and John; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Lucille; three brothers, Sam, Thomas and Charlie; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for O.T. FEARS, Jr., 83, of Sallisaw, are being held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday with Military honors provided by the U.S. Navy, at the Eastside Baptist Church in Sallisaw with Rev. Steve Rutherford officiating. Burial is in Sallisaw City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. FEARS was born May 3, 1923, in Short Community, to O.T. FEARS, Sr. and Sylvia (BEDFORD FEARS. He died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, in Sallisaw. Survivors include four daughters, Merry G., Nancy Sherrylee, Aimee L. and Ann L.; three sons, O.T., III, Larry Vernon and Gary Joe; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; his companion Marie; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo MAYES FEARS, one sister, Grace Marie HUGHES and one son, John FEARS.

Burial is in Akins Cemetery, under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. HENNING was born Jan. 27, 1970, in Muskogee, to Robert HENNING and Karen MARTIN. She died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006, in Sallisaw. Survivors include her husband, "Old Man" Joey STEPHENS; one daughter, Kendra; seven nieces; eight nephews; one sister, Sharon and husband Timothy; four brothers, Dale, Bobby. Ricky and wife Vicky and Michael and wife Susie; parents, Robert and Karen HENNING; nine great-nephews, five great-nieces, four uncles and four aunts. She was preceded in death by her son, Derek SHOCKEY and her grandparents, L.E. and Leatha COCKERMAN and Bill and Pauline BENNETT.

He died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, in Fort Smith. He married Elizabeth Ann VASS, Feb. 17, 1973, in Las Vegas. Survivors include his wife, of the home; mother, Beulah HERNDON; one sister, Arlene; and two nephews.

Graveside services for John Lee LEWIS, 67, of Leon, will be held at a later date at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery, under the direction of McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee. Mr. Lewis was born July 8, 1939, in Warner, to Thomas Jefferson and Ola Mae (RUTHERFORD) LEWIS. He died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006. Survivors include his wife, Cindy Norene LEWIS of the home in Leon; five daughters, Sheri, Terri and husband Arron, Christina and husband Marty, Dee Dee and husband Johnny, and Laura; one son, John LEWIS, Jr. of Fayetteville, Ark.; five brothers, Jim, Bob, Tommy, Jerry and Ed; two sisters, Sue and Edna; three step-children, Latrisha and William and Nicholas; and 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bill LEWIS and granddaughter, Amy WOFFARD.

Graveside services for Jessie Mae MEANS, 81, of Fort Smith, Ark., were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith. Mrs. MEANS died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, in Fort Smith. Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Sue and Mileasa; two sons, Gary and Richard; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Louise. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Thomas MEANS.

She died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, in Tulsa. She married Aussie HANEY, Sr., Nov. 23, 1985, in Fort Smith, Ark. Survivors include her husband, Aussie HANEY, Sr. of the home; one son, Aussie, Jr. of the home; daughter, Jessiecka and Mike; one sister, Brenda and Jeff; brothers, James and Michelle, and Mitchell and Leona; mother, Peggy DANIELS; grandchildren, Alexzandria and Dacota and Anna; and several nieces and nephews, including Tashua. Burial was in Blackjack Cemetery, northwest of Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow with military honors provided by VFW Post 8384 in Muldrow. Mr. BROWN was born May 2, 1919, in Bristol, Ark., to George Golden "GG" BROWN and Ola Iola (HOLDERFIELD) BROWN. He died Monday, Sept. 4, 2006, in Fort Smith, Ark. He married Wilma Etta HARRIAGE, June 4, 1939, in Sallisaw. Survivors include his wife, Wilma BROWN of the home; one daughter, Mary Ann; three sons and two daughters-in-law, John Russell and his wife Sisco., Richard Golden and Jack Hensley, Jr. and his wife Donna; one sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and her husband George; 14 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Harold BROWN of Van Buren, Ark.

Funeral services for Daisy M. RICE CARDWELL, 91, of Fort Smith, Ark., were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith. Burial was in Pilot Prairie Cemetery in Waldron, Ark., under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith. Mrs. CARDWELL died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006, in a local nursing home. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, June and her husband "Red" and Beth and her husband Chester, and Patsy and her husband Bob; son and daughter-in-law, Grady Terrall and his wife Sue; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands Grady RICE and Buddy CARDWELL and granddaughter, Elizabeth.

Graveside services for Richard Glen DYER, 67, of Pryor, formerly of Sallisaw, were held Tuesday at the Brushy Cemetery in Sallisaw with Rev. Monroe Lowrimore officiating, under the direction of Stephens Memorial Chapel of Pryor. Mr. DYER was born Feb. 4, 1939, in Brushy, to John and Pearl (Davis) Dyer. He died Friday, Sept. 8, 2006, in Salina. He married Daisy STEWART, June 15, 1972, in Miami. Survivors include two step-daughters, Patricia and Sammie; one step-son, Ernest M. and wife Evalia; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Harold and Jake; and several nieces, nephews and great- nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services for Rita STAAB, 88, of Sallisaw, are being held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith, Ark. Burial is in Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren, Ark., under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith. Mrs. STAAB was born Nov. 7, 1917, in Rena Community in Crawford County, Ark. She died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, in Fort Smith. Survivors include daughters, Wilma, Joanne and Debbie; sons, Kenith and Jim; sisters, Mavis, Betty and Maxine; brother, Mack; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hubert STAAB.

Graveside services for Lillie BYERS TAYLOR, 81, of Sallisaw were held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Sallisaw City Cemetery with the Rev. Michael McKinney officiating, and under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mrs. TAYLOR was born March 19, 1925, in Sallisaw, to Henry SASSER and Stella (REED) SASSER. She died Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, in Sallisaw. She was first married to Jack BYERS, who preceded her in death, on April 29, 1956. She later married Tom TAYLOR who also preceded her in death Jan. 25, 1977. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Joann and Ned, and Barbara; five sons and four daughters-in-law, Linzy and Lou, Burney and Karen, Thomas and Ruthie, and Charles and Ann, and J.T.; one sister, Cora; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; her provider of 16 years, Carolyn; and several other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by one step-daughter, Darlene TAYLOR, and one step-son, Billy Gene TAYLOR.

Funeral services for Norman Lindenburg BUSH, 74, of Vian will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Agent Chapel in Sallisaw with Bill Pettit officiating. Burial is in Bush Cemetery in Marble City, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. He was born Oct. 3, 1931, in Marble City to Sam BUSH and Susie (FIELDS) BUSH. He died Monday, Sept. 25, 2006. Survivors include one brother, Sam Ed; one sister, Edna; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Elwanda R. CARTER, 71, of Roland, are being held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Agent Chapel in Muldrow with Rev. Scott Liner officiating. Burial is in Milton Cemetery, west of Bokoshe, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow. Mrs. CARTER was born Dec. 14, 1934, in Union City, to R.T. ROBISON and Minnie (COMBS) ROBISON. She died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006, in Roland. She married Fred Norman CARTER, Sept. 5, 1953, in Las Vegas. He preceded her in death, July 4, 2006, in Roland Survivors include two daughters, Deborah and Norma; one son, Daniel; three grandchildren; two sisters, Elsie and I V.; two brothers, Wade and Junior; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Charlie ROBISON.

Funeral services for Raymond M. FULLER, 66, of Bolivar, Mo., were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Pitts Chapel in Bolivar. Burial was in Crestview Memorial Gardens, east of Bolivar, under the direction of Pitts Chapel of Bolivar. Mr. FULLER was born June 6, 1940, in Huntington, Ark., to Ulysses William FULLER and Eva Louise (REPASS) FULLER. He died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, in Springfield, Mo. He married Gaynell Louise KLENTZ, in 1960. She preceded him in death in 1977. He later married Carol BODENHAMER SNOW in 1978. Survivors include his wife Carol FULLER of the home, four children, Eva, Sue and husband Tim, Terrie and husband Danny, and William Jack and wife, Jackie; four step-children, Linda and husband Bill, Brenda and husband Pat, Michael and wife Teri, and Lewis Mark and wife Sharon; 22 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Darrell, Royce, Willard, William and Jack; four sisters, Sharon, Geneva, Melba, Bernice; and 28 nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Danny Joe, Roy, Delano, Ronald and one sister, Revelta.

Funeral services for Waymon Lee "Deacon" NANCE, 64, of Muldrow, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Greater New Bethel Baptist Church in Sallisaw with Pastors James D. Jones and Ron Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Vian, under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. NANCE was born Nov. 13, 1941, in Roland, to Daniel NANCE and Dovie (McCLAIN) NANCE. He died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006, in Sallisaw. Survivors include his wife, Minnie of the home; five daughters, Barbara Joyce and husband Marco, Danita, Danetta, Tina and Nekita; two sons, James and Wayne; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and the mother of James and Barbara, Leaetta NANCE. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Edna Mae CARTER and one brother, Daniel NANCE, Jr.

Funeral services for Dean Floyd NIX, 79, of Sallisaw were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Agent Chapel in Sallisaw with Minister Pat Quinn officiating. Burial was in Sallisaw City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Mr. NIX was born Feb. 11, 1927, in Nicut, to Fred Oscar NIX and Stella Mae (SERATT) NIX. He died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, in Fort Smith, Ark. . He married Mavis Ione SEABOLT, May 18, 2000, in Sallisaw. Survivors include his wife, Mavis NIX of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Connie; two step-children, Diane and Gwen; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Rose NIX, one sister, Millie NOLAND, two brothers, Champ and Bill SERATT and his parents.
