FUNERAL FOR MRS. HELF AT TIPTON
Tipton, January 4 [sic]- Funeral services for Mrs. J. C. Helf will be held in the Church of Christ Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with Rev. R. F. Whitaker officiating.
Mrs. Helf, more intimately know in the community as "Mother" Helf, died Tuesday morning at 2 o'clock in her home. She had been in poor health for the past five years.
Mrs. Helf, whose maiden name was Azzora Pond, was born in Metamora, Indiana, August 21, 1862, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Pond. With her parents she moved to Missouri, settling at Chillicothe. She was married there to Dr. J. C. Helf. In 1890 she and her husband and their children removed to Oklahoma City where Dr. Helf practiced medicine. Soon after the Tipton community was opened to settlement they moved there, where Dr. Helf died several years ago.
Mrs. Helf was a member of the Church of Christ, devoted to her religion, and was a woman of the highest type of Christian character.
She is survived by these children: Paul Helf, Mrs. O. B. Bowman, Mrs. Mack Webb of Edinburg, Texas, and Claude Helf of Albany, Texas. Otho Pond of Chillicothe, Missouri, a brother, and Miss Goldie Cross of Braymer, Missouri, a sister, are here to attend the funeral.
