Arthur Hutson Kirkland
Funeral services for Arthur Hutson Kirkland, 79, of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at the Jack Loftiss Funeral Home in Cordell, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Lawnview Cemetery.
Arthur was born December 26, 1923 in Port, Oklahoma to Alva C. and Myra (Brewster) Kirkland. He died Saturday, June 28, 2003 at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs.
He recently moved to Colorado Springs with his wife Pauline to be close to family.
Arthur attended schools and graduated from Dill City High School in 1943. On May 4, 1944, he married the former Pauline E. Lemasters in Oklahoma City.
Arthur and Pauline were farmers and ranchers around Akron and Eekly, Colorado before their retirement in 1975. Mr. Kirkland was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Crusaders Sunday School Class of Sulphur Springs, Texas.
He is survived by Pauline, his wife of 59 years; son Ronald L. of Riverton, Wyoming, son Donald D. of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter A'Donna K. Mortimer of Carthage, Missouri; sister Ann Francis of Enid, Oklahoma; grandchildren Tiffany L. Forbis of Phoenix, Arizona, Jamey L. Kirkland of Riverton, Wyoming, Angela D. Vandecar of Mesa, Arizona, John C. Kirkland of Mesa, Arizona, Shannon K. O'Connell of Chesapeake, Virginia and Shane L. Nichols of Pueblo, Colorado.
The family asks Memorial Contributions be made to the Crusader's Class, United Methodist Church, Sulphur Springs, Texas 75482.
