A historical monument was dedicated at Cloud Chief on September 15. Bruce Joseph, Field Representative, Oklahoma Historical Society did the dedication. It has the history of the court house on one side and the school on the other side

Contributions were taken at the Cloud Chief Reunion in May to erect a historical monument in Cloud Chief, the first county seat in Washita County, Oklahoma. The monument was dedicated by the Oklahoma Historical Society on September 15, 1999. One side gives the history of the court house and the other the history of the school.
