Florence was born in 1895.  The picture was made when she was 16.  She married Clarence Stine and had three sons, John, James and Joseph.   She played the piano and was talented in the arts, painting with oil's.  She worked for the Indian Agency in Muskogee.

 

One fourth Cherokee, she was a descendant of Ostenaco, War Chief of the Cherokees in the 1700's.    Perhaps her best quality was that she was never heard saying anything critical or negative of anyone.
