L-R George T. Doyle, grandson James "Dock" Luman (son of Mary Jane Doyle Shadwick-Luman), Samuel Doyel, grand-daughter Mamye Luman (daughter of Mary Jane Doyle Shadwick-Luman), Anna H. Ezelle. Please look at Sam's leg, it appears to have a piece of wood around the left leg to help him to walk. The photo was taken in 1898 in Indian Territory, Oklahoma.
Anna was the daughter of Hiram Lafayette and Jane Jincy Seaton-Ezell. The Ezell family lived in Logan and Scott County, Arkansas. They are found in the 1880 Census of Logan County living in the Roseville Township.
Anna married Samuel Lafayette Doyel, Sr. son of Farmer and Mary "Polly" Newberry-Doyel. Anna died in the early 1900's. She is buried somewhere in LeFlore County, Oklahoma. Anna and Sam had six children: Samuel Lafayette, George Thomas, Susan Ann, James V., John H. and Mary Jane.
Mary Jane married Thomas Shadwick and after his death, she married Alec Luman. Mary Jane is buried in the Hodgen Cemetery, Hodgen, Oklahoma.
George Thomas Doyle (George is the Doyle that changed the spelling from Doyel to Doyle) married Mary Alice Elliott, daughter of Benjamin Elliott and Sarah Leath. After Mary Alice died, George Thomas married Jane Forehand. George died in 1971 and is buried in Heavener, Oklahoma.
Sam and Anna's son, Samuel "Lath" Lafayette Jr., married Martha Francis Hughes-Doyle. Sam and Martha are listed in the 1910 Scott County Census with their children: Vi, Pearl, Sam, William, Maude, Mary, Mandy, Emma and Cornelia. Sam and Martha both were born in Logan County, Arkansas.
Sam and Anna are my gg grandparents.
