"My grandmother, Mattie Susan SANDERS Louderback scratched her face out because she didn't like the photo. Unfortunately, it is the earliest photo we have of her. Maybe someone will recognize an ancestor. Even better, maybe someone was another copy of this photo that Mattie didn't get hold of and they can contact me! I know that Mattie was born in Ardmore in 1899-1900. She lived there or in Faxon until she married and moved to Walters, Cotton Co., where my mother was born. The photo says this is eighth grade. If she started school at five, this would be about 1913. Of course, I would like to know where the school was and anything about it."
