First Train July 4, 1917 My grandfather (from Alexander County, Illinois) was a traveler, and, thankfully, identified his photos right on the images themselves. Supposedly, this is the "First Train into Picher Okla. July 4th, 1917." My grandfather would have been 23 years old at the time, and, I think, headed for adventure in Arizona, before returning to Thebes, Illinois, and marrying my grandmother in 1925.
