The Garvin County Program

 Cemetery Map

This is a listing of cemeteries we know of that are currently in need of work.  These are all small cemeteries on privately owned land.  If your family, organization, company, church or any other group would like to adopt one of these cemeteries for a summer, please choose the one you want and we will get permission from the landowner for you.   Once the cemetery has been cleaned up it only takes a mowing about once a month during the summer (about 4 times) to keep it in fairly good order. Cemeteries do not have to be kept perfectly, just mowed so that you people can go in and visit their ancestors burial places.

If you know of any other cemetery that needs to be on this list, please let us know.  If you are a landowner with a small cemetery on your land and would like to have it included here, please let us know.  If one of the cemeteries we have listed is currently being cared for, please let us know so we can post it as being cared for at present.

We have also started a fund to help pay for cemetery care when there are no volunteers to do so, or to be used for fencing, tombstone repair, purchasing mowers and such.  If you would like to donate to this cause, please send checks made out to "The Garvin County Small Rural Cemetery Fund" or "GCSRC" to Rt: 2, Box 75-A, Pauls Valley, OK 73075.   You can even choose which cemetery you would like your contribution used for.

Please help us get this project off the ground.  These historic old cemeteries need to be cherished before they are all gone.  Robberson only has 3 stones left.  This was over a year ago.  They were all three broken and lying on the ground.  Please help us!

Send email to Assistant State Coordinator to help with this project.
