Theodore "Teddy" R. Banks, 50, Kellyville, died at 6 pm Friday in
Bartlett Memorial Hospital. he had suffered a heart attack about an hour earlier
in a Sapulpa physician's office.
Born at Kellyville June 6, 1915, Banks had lived there all of his life. He
operated the Phillips 66 station on the Turner Turnpike between Kellyville and
Bristow for 11 years, and was attendant at the Tulsa gate of the turnpike at the
time of his death.
He was an Army veteran of world War II, member of First Baptist church at
Kellyville, and Kellyville Masonic Lodge 498. He was a 32nd degree Mason, member
of the Indian Consistory at McAlester, and of the Frye-Ward American Legion post
here.
He was married in Sapulpa Feb 9, 1946 to the former Tulsa A. Powell of
Sapulpa.
Surviving are the widow of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Linda Lou Rice,
Kayenta, Ariz, LaVera J. and Tedene Banks both of the home, one grandchild; five
sisters, Mrs. William R. Romine, Mrs. Mollie
Wallace, Mrs. Geraldine Reames, all of Kellyville, Mrs.. Zelma Farris, Stroud
and Mrs. Rebecca Morris, Dallas, Tex.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday in Owen Funeral Chapel with the
Rev. N. E. Holland, pastor of Kellyville Baptist Church officiating, assisted by
Rev. Sam S____ Stroud. Burial will be in Kellyville Cemetery.
