Mr. Earnest L. Childress, Sr., 74, died July 4, 1992 at Tulsa Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include wife, Juanita Childress, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Lillian and Wayne Beebe, Sapulpa; son and daughter-in-law, Earnest and Sharon Childress, Sapulpa; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Melinda and Larry Coley, Rogers, Arkansas; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Clara and Chet Conner, Sapulpa; granddaughter, Rebecca Childress, San Antonio, Texas; granddaughter, Katie Childress, Sapulpa; great-granddaughter, Laura Conley, Rogers, Arkansas; great-grandson, Allen Wayne Conner, Sapulpa; sisters Nettie Geneva Armstrong, Dorothy Haney, Helen Anderson, all of Sapulpa.

Earnest Childress Sr., 74, 1116 N. 10th, died Saturday at Tulsa Regional Medical Center.

Services are scheduled for 2 pm Tuesday at south Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Archie Rivers officiating.

Burial will follow at South Heights Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Mr. Childress was born Oct 26, 1917, in Lincoln, Ark., and lived in the Sapulpa area most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and married Juanita Petitt on Nov 30, 1946, in Independence, Kan. He worked for the Medley Company for nine years before his retirement in 1980. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include wife Juanita; daughter Lillian Beebe of Sapulpa; son Earnest L. Childress Jr. of Sapulpa; sisters Nettie Geneva Armstrong, Dorothy Haney and Helen Anderson, all of Sapulpa; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 pm Tuesday at the South Heights Baptist Church for Earnest Loyd Childress Sr. Mr. Childress died Saturday at Tulsa Regional Medical Center.

The Rev. Archie Rivers and Charlie Coatney Jr. officiated. Burial followed in south Heights Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Casketbearers were Ralph Haney, Wallace Haney, Charlie Coatney Sr., Charlie Coatney Jr., Leon Underdown and Ronnie Petitt.

Childress is a long time resident of Sapulpa.
