Mr. Robert "Gene" Douglas, 87, 1116 E. Dobson, died Friday at Bartlett Memorial Medical Center.

Services will be 10:30 am Tuesday at the first United Methodist Church with the Rev. Connell Ghormley officiating.

Burial will be at South Heights Cemetery under the direction of Owen Funeral Home.

He was born Nov 25, 1900, in Monett, Mo., and moved to Sapulpa in 1927. He married Beulah Hicks on June 27, 1933.

Mr. Douglas retired in 1965 after 38 years as market manager for the former Piggly-Wiggly Grocery, now Safeway. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

He and Mrs. Douglas were among the organizers of the Friendship Sunday School Class in 1933.

Survivors include wife Beulah.
