KELLYVILLE, Okla. — Caryl Hooper, 90, of Kellyville, Okla., formerly of Gothenburg and sister of Lois Atkinson of Gothenburg, died June 20, 2001, in Bristow, Okla.

She was born July 18, 1911, in Gothenburg, one of eight children born to Frank and Stella Loutzenhauser Brush. Following high school she moved to Wyoming to work on a sheep ranch, where she met and married Robert Edward Garfield in 1933. He died during World War II.

On March 18, 1948, she married Merritt Hooper in Drumright, Okla. She was a member of the FCE Extension Club of Kellyville for 25 years. She enjoyed cooking for her friends and family. She made many fine quilts and crafts

Mrs. Hooper is survived by two daughters, Muriel (Bob) Kraus of Riverton, Wyo., and Martha Peterson of Kellyville; a son, Robert (Josette) Garfield of Friendswood, Texas; a stepson, Robert (Jean) Hooper of Longview, Wash.; seven grandchildren, Rick, Eric and Mike Kraus, John Garfield, Patricia Wirt, Tina Fullmer and Mark Manka; 12 great-grandchildren, Amy, Tracy, Jaden, Kylee, Miranda, Merissa and Marriah Kraus, Jennifer and Sabrina Garfield, Makayla Wirt and Levi and Christi Fullmer; and two sisters, Lois Atkinson of Gothenburg and Delores Geiken of Grand Island.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; her parents; and five brothers, Merrill, William, Perry Oliver, Raymond and Tommy Brush.

Services were June 25, 2001, at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Sunrise Cemetery
