The funeral for Raccie “Doc” Langston, 79, 711 S. Oklahoma, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Smith Funeral Chapel. Langston died in his home Wednesday.

Officiating at the funeral will be Russell Casey. Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Langston was born July 21, 1914 in Couch, MO and married Vera Lea Holland on Sept. 14, 1946 in Los Angeles, Calif. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, after graduation from Sapulpa High School in 1932.

He was employed as a union carpenter, retiring on Dec. 14, 1977. He was a member of Carpenter’s Union No. 943.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; children Ronald Terry Langston, Debra Lea Langston and Michael Clay Langston, all of Sapulpa; sisters Hettie Strain and Clara Murry, both of Tulsa; brother Lawrance Langston of Jenks, and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Bertha Pritchard and brothers Lester, William, Charles, and Kenneth Langston.

Funeral services for Raccie Taylor "Doc" Langston were held at 10:00 A.M. Friday in the Smith Funeral Chapel with Russell Casey officiating. Burial followed in Green Hills Memorial Gardens, under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home.

Serving as casket bearers were William R. Langston, Jr., Richard Langston, Bud Pritchard, Leon Pritchard, Paul Wayne Pritchard and Jack West.
