Dr. Louis Aubrey Martin, 63, died Friday at Hillcrest Medical Center, Tulsa.

Services are scheduled for 1 pm Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Connel Ghormely, Herman Ging and Joe Knowles officiating.

Entombment will be at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home.

He was born in McGehee, Ark. He received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas in 1945 and completed his internship at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Dr. Martin came to Sapulpa in 1947 and established a general family medical practice in the Berryhill Building. He later purchased the Curry Clinic. Martin practiced medicine in the Sapulpa area for more than 37 years.

He served the U. S. Army in the medical corps in Hawaii and Japan during World War II.

Martin was a mayor of Sapulpa and a member of the City Commission.

He was a steward at the First United Methodist Church, a member of the American Legion, the Alpha Sigma fraternity and was a Woodsman.

He was also involved in Boy Scouts, Little League and other community activities.

Martin, with a group of local men participated in a project removing trees for local residents.

Survivors include wife, Georgene Tait Martin; son Louis Jr. of Sapulpa; daughter Patty of Oklahoma City; step-son Charles CAMPBELL of Sapulpa; step-daughter Beki SATTERFIELD of Sapulpa; sister Mrs. Jim GOOCH of Houston; half-sister Lillian MCDANIEL of La Porte, Texas; half-brother John BOGEY of Houston; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of remembrances, the family request that contributions be made to the Bartlett Memorial Medical Center, the American Cancer Society or to a church.
