Ronald McGuire was born on Dec. 29, 1944 in Shawnee.
He spent most of his life in the Drumright, Sapulpa
area surrounded by a large and loving family who
supported and admired him throughout his life. As a
talented and accomplished guitar player he recorded
his first record at the age of 17 with FAM Records
and succeeded in life as a code welder of the
highest level. His accomplishments were few, but
lasting and were of great value to those close to
him. He made an impact on his family and passed his
values of hard work and dedication onto their
lifestyles and left them with love and respect for
God, country and family.
His son Kenneth McGuire lost not only a father
but a best friend when Kenneth Ronald McGuire passed
away March 18, 1998 at 2 am in Oilton.
He leaves behind a wife, Sharon Kay McGuire;
children, Kimberley May McCoy, Kenneth Allen
McGuire, Rhonda Kay Brown, Sharon Denise Davis;
grandchildren Stephanie Lee McGuire, Justin Ray
McCoy, Jennifer Lynn McCoy, Amanda Kay Brown,
Michael Allen Davis, Kassie LeAnn Brown, Joshua Lee
Davis, Cody Dwayne Brown, Jacob Wayne McCoy;
siblings, Charles Lee McGuire, Larry Dean McGuire,
Allen Leon McGuire, Philip Wayne McGuire, Karen Jo
Smith, Marla Jean O'Neil, Edith Elaine Dodd, Nelda
Lynn Robinson.
Services will be held Friday, March 20, 1998 at 2
p.m. at the Westside Freewill Baptist Church located
at 704 S. Independence. Smith Funeral Home will
coordinate all arrangements.
