Services for Bill R. Owen, 64, of Sapulpa, will be held Tuesday, 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Billy Pierce and T. Howard Allen officiating.

He was preceded in death by his father J. F. Owen, on Feb 24, 1981 and his mother, Johnie J. Owen on Dec 19, 1980.

Survivors include his wife Patsy (Peeler) Owen of the home; one son, James Michael Owen of Sapulpa; two daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Debbie) Karn and Mrs. Charlie (Denise) Morgan, both of Sapulpa, and five grandchildren, Regina Dugan of Tulsa, Carey Davis, Chad Karn and Justin and Zackary Morgan, all of Sapulpa.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Sapulpa Area Chamer of Commerce, American Legion, D. A. V., Elks Lodge 1118 for 42 years and Sapulpa IOOF. A member of Masonic Lodge 170, he was 32nd degree Mason. Mr. Owen also had served on the Salvation Army Advisory Board.

A past president of Sapulpa Kiwanis Club (1977-78), Mr. Owen had served on the organization's board of directors numerous times. He received the distinguished Leonard Bryon Award in 1976-77 and had received recognition for 41 years of perfect attendance in the organization.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J. F. and Johnie J. Owen.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy of the home; one son, James Michael Owen of Sapulpa; two daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Debbie) Karn and Mrs. Charlie (Denise) Morgan, both of Sapulpa, and five grandchildren.

Friends who wish may make donations to the Oklahoma Cancer Society or the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund.

Bill R. Owen, 64, a prominent businessman and Sapulpan for more than 40 years, died Friday at his home.

Services will be at 2 pm Tuesday at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Billy Pierce and T. Howard Allen officiating.

Casket bearers will be Paul Bavousette, Bill Hatfield, Otis Pennington, Dr. Walter Cale, Dr. Tom Burnett, Dr. Charles Gebetsberger, Howard Brown and Sid Foster.

Honorary bearers will be Doyle Cotton, Chuck Lake, Ken Blackburn, Derve Folger, Jerry Robertson, Tom Ritchie, Mark Tucker, Roy Stephens, Lester Henderson, Bill Sellers; Melvin Little, Ed wells, members of Kiwanis Club and funeral directors.

Burial will be in Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Sapulpa with arrangements by Owen Funeral Home.

Mr. Owen was a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Oklahoma and Texas for 42 years and was owner of Owen Funeral Home.

Before moving to Sapulpa in 1947, Mr. Owen had lived in Chickasha and Guthrie. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.

A 1943 graduate of Guthrie High School, he married Patsy Peeler on Sep 1, 1945. The Owen family moved to Sapulpa in 1947.
