W.R. "Bob" Parkins, 73, 106 N. Boyd Place, Sapulpa, died Monday at his home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm Thursday, at Green Hills Memorial Gardens Chapel with Rev. T. Howard Allen officiating.

Burial followed at Green Hills Memorial Gardens under the direction of Owen Funeral Home.

He was born Feb 25, 1919, in Sapulpa to Robert and Lena Tate Parkins. Mr. Parkins retired as a conductor from the Frisco and Burlington Northern Railroads. A lifelong resident of Sapulpa, he was a 1937 graduate of Sapulpa High School. He married Thelma Mikkelson on Feb 15, 1952. She preceded him in death in 1988.

Survivors include a son, Mike Parkins of Muldrow; daughters, Gail Barnes of Sapulpa and Robin Lindstrom of Owasso; sister, Frances Ketchum of Kermit, Texas; and seven grandchildren.

The family will headquarter at 106 North Boyd Place.
