LONG-TIME KELLYVILLE MAN DIES

George W. Romine, 87, died early Tuesday morning at Bartlett Memorial hospital.

He had lived in the Kellyville area most of his life, but for the past seven years had made his home with a daughter, Mrs. Beulah Beasley, 103-1/2 E. Dewey.

He was born at Maryville, Tenn., Dec. 2, 1877, and came to Kellyville with his parents as a child. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Baptist church.

Other survivors include a son, Jennings Romine, Linden, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Etta Kendall, Sapulpa; Mrs. Anna Dickenson, Broderick, Calif.; and Mrs. Genevieve Blaylock, Porterville, Calif.; 24 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.

Also surviving are three brothers, John Romine, Kellyville; Horace Romine, Sapulpa; and Charlie Romine, Arcadia, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Lula Howerton and Mrs. Katie Harwood, Kellyville; Mrs. Mayme Garrin, Vinita; and Mrs. Matie Kelly, Campbell, Calif.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pentecostal Holiness church, Kellyville. The body will be sent by Owen Funeral home to Porterville, Calif., for burial.

Funeral rites for George W. Romine, 87, 103-1/2 E. Dewey, were held Wednesday afternoon at Pentecostal Holiness church, Kellyville. Burial will be in Porterville, Calif.

Pallbearers were Bill Mercer, Avery Kelly, Oscar McGuire, Jess Little, Clint McGuire and Brownie English.

Sapulpa - George Washington Romine, 87, a retired farmer and longtime Creek County resident died Tuesday in a local hospital.

Romine, born in Maryville, Tenn. had lived in Creek County most of his life and had farmed in the Kellyville and Bristow areas. He was a member of the Baptist Church at Kellyville.

Surviving are a son, Jennings Romine of Linden, Calif., four daughters, Mrs. Mary Etta Kendall and Mrs. Beaulah Beasley, both of Sapulpa, Mrs. Anna Dickerson of Broaderick, Calif., and Mrs. Genevieve Blaylock of Porterville, Calif., three brothers, John Romine of Kellyville, Horse [Horace] Romine of Sapulpa, and Charlie Romine of Arcadia, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Katie Harwood and Mrs. Lula Howerton, both of Kellyville, Mrs. Mayme Garrin of Vinita and Mrs. Matie Kelly of Campbell, Calif., 24 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.
