Shoptaw Funeral Rites Held Today 

Funeral services for Matt Shoptaw, of Sapulpa, who died recently in the Mayo hospital in Rochester, Minn., were held at 3 o'clock this afternoon at the First Presbyterian Church. 

Rev. C. D. Todd, pastor of the church officiated. Lewis and Landrith Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements. 

Graveside rites were conducted by the Masonic Lodge, with members of the local order comprising the active pall bearers. They were Brice Patrick, Don McMasters, A. Disney, F. W. Marshall, R. N. Volker and G. S. Richardson. 

He is survived by the widow of 1020 East Dewey Avenue, a daughter Mrs. Guy Fine of Sapulpa, a son Howard Shoptaw, of Rolla, MO, and a sister, Mrs. Vernon Blake of Sapulpa. 

Shoptaw was one of the early residents of Sapulpa, having come here in 1908. He was city water works engineer for some years and later became superintendent of the Tibbens gasoline plant. He had bee in ill heath for several years before his death.
