Paul M. Sikes, 73, of Sapulpa, died Friday at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm Monday at the First Baptist Church with
the Revs. David Houchin and Alvin Hedin officiating.
Burial will follow in Green Hills Memorial Gardens
under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Mr. Sikes was born April 9, 1917, in Merimac. He was a retired coach, teacher
and school administrator, having taught at Lone Star and Sapulpa schools and
retiring in 1979.
He was a Sapulpa resident since 1950. He also was a U.S. Navy veteran of World
War II, member of the First Baptist Church, Men's Bible Class, Oklahoma
Education, National Education, and the Retired Teachers Association.
He was a graduate of Oklahoma State university, and State History Teacher of the
Year in 1977.
Survivors include wife Virginia; son Paul Nelson Sikes of Tulsa; daughter Mrs.
Ron (Paulette) Reed of Durant; four grandchildren; and great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Paul Sikes were held today at First Baptist Church with the
Revs. David Houchin and Alvin Hedin officiating.
Burial followed at Green Hills Memorial Gardens under the direction of Smith
Funeral Home.
Mr. Sikes' nephews served as casketbearers.
Mr. Sikes, a Sapulpa resident since 1950, died Friday at Saint Francis Hospital
in Tulsa.
