Charles "Cecil" Tarr, 81, of Sapulpa, died Monday.

No funeral services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Butler-Stumpff Funeral Home of Tulsa.

He was born Oct 16, 1911. Tarr was a 1930 graduate of Sapulpa High School where he was a member of the track and football teams plus the school's first wrestling team. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as Carpenter's Mate First Class in Hilo, Hawaii. He married Louise Rose on May 27, 1939, Tarr was a member of the Church of Christ. He worked as a carpenter.

Survivors include his wife, Louise; brother, Loyce "Jim" Tarr of Tulsa; daughter, Beverly Witt of Sapulpa; son, Terry Allen Tarr of Sapulpa; and four grandchildren.
