Dale Wortman, 66, Route 1, died Saturday at Bartlett Memorial Medical Center.

Services will be 10:30 am Tuesday at Smith Funeral Chapel with the Rev. T. Howard Allen officiating.

Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Wortman was born Nov. 2, 1923, in Sapulpa. He graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1943 where he was Yearbook King and football team captain.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a retired liberty Glass machine operator. He was a Baptist and member of the Sapulpa Elks Lodge and the VFW.

Survivors include wife Nadine; mother Emma Wortman of Sapulpa; son Jimmie Wortman of Sapulpa; daughters Emma Wortman Sandell and Elaine Bristow of Sapulpa; step-children Donna Pryor of Tulsa, Vera White of Del City, Lisa Brumley of Oklahoma City, and Larry Dale Gregory and Kenneth Gregory, both of Sapulpa; brother Dennie Wortman of Sapulpa; sisters Nellie Bowen and Irene Atchley, both of Sapulpa; and seven grandchildren.

Services for Dale Wortman were held today at Smith Funeral Chapel with the Rev. T. Howard Allen officiating.

Burial was at Green Hills Memorial Gardens.

Casket bearers were Joe Gregory, Eddy Kerr, Bill Bowen, Mark Morgan, Lance Gee, and Bill Anderson. Honorary bearers were Thayles Cornwell, Rex Ballard, Dan Contreras, and Bill Bristow.

Full military services were conducted by the three Creek County veterans’ organizations.

Survivors not previously listed included son Dale A. Wortman of Sapulpa.
