Nellie Cooke of Kiefer passed away Thursday July 29, 2010 at the age of 83. She was born December 10, 1926 in Limon to William and Agnes King. Nellie worked in nursing homes and as an apartment manager in the Bristow and Kiefer areas for seven years.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Vida King Perryman, Darlene McGuire and Ida King Sweet; brothers, Franklin King, Francis King and Calvin King.

Nellie is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Vacknitz of Washington State; grandchildren, David Vacknitz and Paul Vacknitz and by two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers, O.B. King, Gary King and Jack King; sisters, Ruth King and Arlene Lister.

Graveside services will be held Saturday July 31, 2010 10 a.m. at Sunrise Cemetery with Bill Oldham officiating. Honorary Bearers are Russell King, Johnny King, Kevin King, Rusty King, Michael King, Frank King, Dempsey Lister and Gary King.    Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
