Shelby Yocham, 84, a longtime resident of
Kellyville, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Hillcrest
Medical Center. He was born June 28, 1927 to Troy and Dortha (Weiher) Yocham
in Oakland, Arkansas.
Shelby worked at Rogers Bakery, Boyles
Galvanizing and operated a milk collection route before becoming a
self-employed welder. He enjoyed farming and raising cattle.
He was preceded in death by his parents
Troy and Dortha, and his brothers Elmer, George, Darrell and Gary Yocham.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years
Opal Yocham of the home; daughter Cheryl Banks and husband Curtis of Kansas
City; son Duane Yocham and wife Sherri of Kellyville; grandchildren Brad and
wife Kim, Justin and wife Kimberly of Kellyville, and Kristen Yocham of
Sapulpa; five great-grandchildren Skylar, Kylie, Ava, Haydan, and Ty Yocham;
two sisters Vera Davis of Nashville, TN and Shirley Harris of Lufkin, TX;
and two brothers Lester and Marvin Yocham of Kellyville.
Visitation will be March 11 from 6 to 8
pm at Smith Funeral Chapel, Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be
March 12 at 2 pm at Kellyville Baptist Church. Officiating will be Mike
Kimball and Gary Staiger. Pallbearers will be Bill Bolin, Jack Denham, Jim
Hiett, Pete Little, Ronnie Thomas, and Marvin Willis. Honorary pallbearers
will be Bill Robbins and Jack Turner.
Interment to follow at
Sunrise Cemetery. Funeral
arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Sapulpa, OK.
