MIAMI, Okla. — Former Sapulpan Mr. David N. Arter,
69, of Miami died Wednesday at Baptist Regional
Health Center, Miami.
Services are scheduled for 10 am Saturday at Cooper Funeral Home
Chapel, Miami, with the Rev. Stephen Robinson officiating.
Burial will be at 1:30 pm Saturday in the Green
Hills Memorial Gardens, Sapulpa.
Mr. Arter was born Aug 27, 1918, in Old Fort, Ohio. He moved to
Miami from Sapulpa in 1853.
He was a World War II Army veteran, a charter member of the
Oklahoma Alarm Association, a former member of the Miami Rotary
Club, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a
member of the Presbyterian church. He also was active in the Boy
Scouts of America and had received the organization’s coveted
Silver Beaver award.
Mr. Atter had played Santa Claus for numerous Miami
organizations before his illness.
He owned Wineart Pottery Co. and Wineart Electronics.
Survivors include wife Clara;
brothers Donald and Clarence, both of Tiffin, Ohio; and sister
Maye Cook of Tiffin.
