These people are all related.
Janie Adeline McIlvain Gibbs, Mary Bell McIlvain Rodgers, and Emma McIlvain Stalcup (mother of
Wrixom R. "Jack" Stalcup and Ida Bell Stalcup Stofle) were sisters of my great great grandfather,
Jasper McIlvain. All were children of Wrixsom/Wrixom McIlvain and Roana Jane Jolliffe who married
in Johnson County, Oklahoma in 1846. The family lived in Brown Co., IN until 1865 when they began
their migration to Texas, ending up in Wise Co., TX about 1876.

Mrs. Janie Gibbs

Mrs. Janie Gibbs, one of Paoli's most beloved citizens, was born November 15, 1864, in Illinois
and departed this life on February 23, 1939, at 9:30 a.m. at the age of 74 years.
Aunt Janie, as she was affectionately known to her many friends, was married to Mr. J. W. Gibbs
on December 20, 1885, at Sunset, Texas, in Wise County.
To this union were born two children, Mr. J. A. Gibbs, a son, and Mrs. T. C. Palmer, daughter.
Mrs. Palmer passed away 19 years ago, leaving four daughters who were reared and educated by
Aunt Janie. All are married now.  Besides the son and four granddaughters, she also is survived by seven other grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Her many friends also mourn her going as she had been in the Paoli community for 45 years, being active in church and all other activities that were upbuilding to the community.

When I was searching for the death records and obituaries, I found the funeral home records for
Emma McIlvain Stalcup and her husband among the Stufflebean Funeral Home Records. But, I
couldn't find obituaries in the newspapers. I didn't know if you could include the Funeral Home record
information on the obituary site. I decided I'd go ahead and send the information to you just in case
you could because it rounds out the information. I'll leave it to your discretion.
