Dr. Calvin James Ralston, Deceased

Reverend Ralston came to Texas to preach but was later sent to Armstrong Academy and was made superintendent of that school.

Later he was a missionary to the Indians of the Indian Territory.   He preached to and taught the Indians all over Oklahoma and was medical advisor as well.

He was founder of the Presbyterian College at Durant, called Calvin Institute at that time.

Ralston was much loved and respected all over Oklahoma.

His nephew, Francis Ralston, speaks of his uncle as a great man and says that he was always ready with advice and encouragement for young people.

He sought the poor and sick and helped them from his own purse.

He is greatly admired and honored in his home town of Caney.

This interview was obtained from his nephew, Francis Ralston, Atoka, Oklahoma.
