I am a great great granddaughter of Nathaniel Thomas Barnett and Lucy Keen Hutcherson. He was born and raised in Calloway County, Kentucky, where he and Lucy were married. |
Private Company I, 32nd Mississippi Infantry Born March 27, 1848 in Calloway County, Kentucky Died February 28, 1907 in Wynnewood, I.T. Buried in Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. A Confederate Marker was ordered for him January 8, 2001 Nathanial came to Indian Territory around 1891. He was in Kentucky in 1881 and in Arkansas in 1883 He married Lucy K. Hutcherson in Calloway County, Kentucky, November 14, 1871. Lucy was born March 18, 1855 in Rockingham County, North Carolina and passed May 15, 1913. She is buried beside him at Oaklawn Cemetery Nathanial was a city councilman in Wynnewood in 1906 His military unit was taken from the Confederate Roster. In "Chickasaw Souvenir" (1905) he is listed as being in Company I, 32nd Mississippi Infantry. It actually reads "Barrett" but must be Barnett Nathanial's middle name, the date and place of his marriage and his wife's maiden name are taken from Mormon records, which list the marriage date as 1872 Nathanial's obituary says he was elected mayor but did not live to take office
